Louisa, I absolutely love your necklace! You are so sweet as a couple, thank you for sharing your story, lovely! Catching up on all your videos. Greetings from California….🌷
Louisa I’m so sorry ,I might of been the one you mentioned about the tiles ,I didn’t mean for you to make do with the tiles ,I meant if there was a tile outlet near you that you could get high end tiles for little money if they’re the end of the line ,We did that in our last house ,We bought lovely green /white tiles that looked old for little money ,We’re both from England but moved to Florida years ago ,We rented then found a tiny house in the next street for sale,We bought it remodelled it made up it look like a cottage ,My husband did a lot of work with me as the helper like you ,We had a 2 year old and 15 year old daughters too ,.We decided to move up to central Florida found a house lived in it for a while but decided to move to the countryside a few miles away ,After many searches a house came up ,not old but it had,the rooms I wanted,It had been empty for a couple of years so it had been stripped of anything metal ,even doors and skirting boards were gone ,The electrics had been stripped right out .We’ve allways gone by use what we have make or get good stuff cheap ,We had an antique shop so we raided the salvage yard we had,Our kitchen has 5 different colours of granite countertops ,the cast iron triple sink ,and lots of other stuff we used for the renovation,We kept some of the original kitchen cabinets but took some out to house my kitchen dresser ,A friend gave us some wood flooring as the tiling was all uneven .All our furniture is either made, picked off the street or thrifted,The living room was a converted garage with a concrete floor which you had to step down to and it sloped down .My husband kept saying he wanted to even the floor off ,We had a stack of squares of thick plywood we were wondering how we could use them ,So a few weeks ago we decided to use them for the floor we decided on a design to make them look like old tea chest packing crates .My husband cut them all the same size we drew lines on them .he put joists down ,leveled the floor .I stenciled made up and real signs of tea and other stuff .It’s a unique floor and we’re so pleased how it turned out ,It was harder and took longer than we thought ,Sorry for the saga ,I enjoyed your story and enjoy following your renovations .I do miss going round to carboot sales etc,x
I love you guys. I love the remarkable connection you have and the fact that you really just "get" each other. You're on the same tract, of the same mind and are just wonderful together. Love your videos. Just found you about a month ago and catching up on early episodes.
Thank you. I am so pleased you enjoyed it. I read your comment out to Mark about being a beautiful bride and said I just couldn't see it. He replied, I saw it then and I can see it now 😊
But making your own things, your heart and souls are in it.Just how Starre Corner would have been made.Your are putting" real "history in it.A real home.
You two are so inspiring!! I've been sharing your channel with my own Mum and we both love tuning in to see your progress! Your flea markets finds, antique treasures are so amazing! You have a great attitude rolling with the changes and so much creativity! And my Mum loves your hair Louisa!! 😄
I really enjoyed this! You guys make a really great team. Plus I’m full of admiration for your hard work and determination to keep Starre Corner authentic. I think handmade tiles and the shower are a great idea and will look brilliant.
I LOVED listening to you both. It was like a chat with friends, I even made myself a cuppa. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. One question, if I may, who decided and what made you decide to document your journey on TH-cam? (I for one am glad you did - you are my favourite channel by far ☺️ )
Oh wow! Thank you. That is such a compliment. We've just high-fived. Can I ask you what makes us your favourite? I'm trying to improve but I am not quite sure how to do better. Any feedback gratefully received. I decided to start You Tubing after becoming totally disillusioned by Instagram. Having taken the plunge, I much prefer You Tubing :)
@@elegantlyknackeredstyle Hi Louisa, I might just jump in on this one too, as you are also my favourite TH-cam channel. For me it is the warmth of your connection not only with Mark but your girls, that I can also relate to. It's your genuine laughter at just about everything, you are always smiling and laughing, and it brings total joy to my day. It's your honesty about the journey and you are both so humble when you have achieved and accomplished something....your talent together knows no bounds! Just keep doing what you are doing because there is nothing better than this..! XXX
@@elegantlyknackeredstyle Honestly I think it’s because you are all so genuine in front of the camera. Not slick and polished the way some TH-camrs get but authentic and real. It’s like you have personally invited us into your home for a chat and a look around. Keep the laughs and the bloopers - they make you all the more relatable. Just keep on being yourself because your warmth and passion for what you do radiates through every vlog. These are my genuine thoughts, sorry if they were a bit gushing 🙈
I absolutely love listening to you both and look forward to your weekly updates. I love your style, hard work and dedication to your renovation. I am a lover of anything vintage and preservation. Your garden is just lovely too. Thank you for sharing 😊
After redoing 11 houses in 57 yrs of marriage, 2 of them log houses, 5 businesses from start to finish, I hope we’re about done. We took an old service station and started a trendy restaurant in it, an old carpet warehouse and I made a florist shop there. I have so many more ideas, but at 75, I don’t think my body will take it. Plus, my husband has cancer now,so…..
This was so interesting. Thank you for sharing! Wondering if the friend that was going to help Mark with the extension could help with advice along the way? If he has experience.. to help Mark with important steps, decisions?? Thanks so much!
What a TREAT, this was so charming to hear your story, and I really enjoyed hearing how you met and the wedding day. Stunning photos too. It was totally meant to be that you find Starr Cottage, and I was so intrigued to hear this story, so very grateful you both shared this. My husband and I have a similar story to our find of our reno home in Adelaide South Australia, although we did recently sell this home, but the home really did find us, as it was not even on our radar at the time. I'm so glad that I somehow inspired this video of the week.... as I really understand the WHY now, so thank you both so much! XXX
I am so pleased you enjoyed it. Because we came to You Tube someway into the renovation journey, I could see that the WHY was missing. I hoped this would do the trick 😊 Have you found a new renovation project?
@@elegantlyknackeredstyle Thoroughly enjoyed it and it did the trick!! Sort of, we bought our home in Sydney in 2006 when our girls were little (6 and 7) after moving from Adelaide (we kept our Adelaide home and just rented it out). We bought our home on the lower north shore of Sydney, that was about 30 years old at the time, we couldn't afford the heritage homes in Sydney. We've named our home Beaumont House, and it is a bit like a country farmhouse style. And nothing as stunning as yours but it is very endearing, it's my sanctuary and I love it, and it was on the market for so long, nobody wanted it but both myself and my husband absolutely fell in love at first sight, and it was one the best decision we have made. XXX
Loved this you two are amazing and make a great team. Really interested in how you are making the tiles. Enjoyed watching this over my morning coffee and totally get your frustration with finding suitable bathrooms for your project.
No, we didn't know this area of Norfolk at all until we moved here. I used to holiday on the North Norfolk Coast, but Starre Corner is not an area I came across.
Enjoy the two of you and your energy as a couple 💕
Thank you 😊

No, it was left to Mark to work it out on his own. It's built now so thankfully we're back in our comfort zone.
I completely understand about new builds.
It was a big mistake.

Honestly, you're Not going to put the house on the market when you finish All of your hard work!
Sometimes I feel as though I could sell it, but mostly I know we'll stay for a long long time.
