The most unrealistic part of this show is how a talking sponge has a minimum wage job and can still afford a house and a pet.
The little snail wandering around on the paper while the speaker is doing the math made me chuckle.
The snails movements being sped up was really creepy to me 🤣

actually this change was made in the reference designs back in 2012
for anyone who's saying she "took a cartoon too seriously" or "should stop complaining", all of vihart's videos are just meant to be a fun way to teach people math and science. she doesn't actually care that it's mathematically impossible, nor did she actually want to make it change. she just made the video to teach people something cool in a fun way, lol

It honestly reminds me of something that happened in Bojack Horseman. In a season 2 episode, of of the characters (Mr Peanutbutter) makes an Americano for his wife Diane in a mock Starbuck's. After the season aired, someone on Reddit pointed out that he made a latte, not an Americano. So, the next season had a flashback episode, and they showed when Mr Peanutbutter and Diane first met at a Starbucks Diane was working at. Mr Peanutbutter asks for "an Americano but with steamed milk", to which Diane says, "Ok, one latte."
Who knew that a joke would be made due to on nitpicky twit.

Guarantee Vihart just made that video as a high school project or something and didn’t expect it to blow up the way it did.
Well not exactly, she makes a ton of videos like that, I doubt all of them are projects she does for school, especially since a good portion of them are based on her not paying attention in class.
She's just into math and exploring things that aren't explored in school, like this video of hers talks about how on plants spirals in the opposite directions come in numbers that are next to each other on the Fibonacci sequence (in this case 13 and 21), which she discovered in a separate video all about plants but this one blew up due to being about a popular cartoon and people not understanding math is the point of it.
This falls under the "Does it matter?" category. After all, there's already fire underwater in this show, and they've clearly joked about that.
If you watch her video, you'll see that it has that same tone. It's technically mathematically correct, but she's also just being silly. It's a joke.

The only thing that bothers me is that Spongebob's house has so many rooms when on the outside it's impossible. Hell, he has a freaking library and garage in his home. There's no way that all fits in that pineapple

I always thought it was kind of obvious that Spongebob's house isn't an actual pineapple, but a building shaped like a pineapple, considering it has walls inside and never decomposes.

Okay, when I read this title, the LAST thing I was expecting to hear about is Vihart!
I still remember being entranced by hexaflexagons.
Why are people acting like the girl is just a super critic trying to find impossibilities in a show where impossibilities are everywhere? The video was all made in good fun and the background designer didn't have to notice the video or change anything at all, but chose to do it anyway. I don't get why anyone's upset at this detail?
Or they go “who cares” when they obviously cared enough to click the video and comment “who cares”.
I think the way that the pineapple changes the design on SpongeBob is dependable on the animators to draw it in their own way. Sorta like an animation unit system if you will like it’s the Clampett unit or maybe the McKimson unit of animation.

The furniture weight inside the pineapple house maybe is the reason for it to sink idk
The pineapple was also hollowed out. So a lot of the integrity was lost. With windows and doors marring the outside with holes, it's hard to say that would float.
Plus, as another commenter pointed out, all the furniture would weigh it down, making it even less likely to float.
That is an interesting question though

That's literally the point of her video - "the spirals don't work like that, here my dear viewer, I'll show you how they do because it's pretty interesting."

It seems many people are not getting the joke that vi hart wasn’t being serious and only made the video as a joke. Which is sad because she makes great videos.
I never understood how my parents felt every time I would get obsessed w something & why they always talked about how “if i just put that energy into something important”, this video awakened me to that feeling
