I do think that once snakes grow accustomed, both to you personally and just the situation of you handling them at the moment, then they’ll recognize that you’re not a threat and that you’re also helping remove those awful itchy spots from them, so it probably feels good enough to have them let you help them
Actually some of it IS body language, all animals have body language. It's just about understanding it. Something else to note is he is more cautious with Kevin when he doesn't have a hand on him, because he can't feel if Kevin tenses if he is upset. For dogs and cats its fur bristling, tail lashing growling or hissing. For most reptiles its muscles tensing, and growling or hissing depending on the species and aggression level. Crocs and Cobras can both hiss and growl. Usual begins with hissing and escalates in to growling.

Animals need you and your friends in the world to be their voice. I’m not an animal expert in any way and I don’t profess to be one-but I can tell when you were handling Kevin he’s definitely not tamed by any means but there’s definitely a bond you have with him where he allows you the handling and to be close and when he let you apply the medicine to his jaw in the other video as if you were just applying it to a cat or a dog and he just chilled and let you do it that says a lot about the passion and care you have for your animals. I was going to say what would be interesting is if you talked a little bit about the bite protocol you have in place-obviously no one would ever want that for you or your friends or to happen to Tyler again but in the event a mistake was made or someone had a mishap and took a bite what does an emergency protocol look like? Do you have anti-venom on hand? Do you have protocols at the local hospital so if you sustained a bite from a venomous snake you have a very safe structure to try and best assure a positive outcome?
