Wow.. Supersonic Kiwi has upped his game.. (Not sure why it was a bit jumpy on the taxi at Brisbane airport) BUT Loved it and the highlight has to be that baggage carousel montage.. that was complete brilliance.. I need to watch this again.. And again.. and probably rewatch every video you have made.. and will make..
Yeah, I had footage from my SLR and I had it zoomed all the way in so I could read the regos on the planes, but it didn't make for the smoothest footage. There's always something to work on! So pleased you liked the baggage carousel montage - after mentioning it on your stream the other day I decided it needed more baggage and more montage, haha.
good stream today keep it up and this was a great video
Awesome video as always! Keep enjoying on what you are striving for despite the challenges! Hope you are having a great winter so far, and I can’t wait to see your future uploads! 🤙✈️
Thank you so much. I always love reading your super positive and supportive comments. Keep being awesome!
10/10 this is the most engaging flight review I’ve ever seen
Awww, thanks so much, that too kind!
finally! the mighty Brazilian Embraer joins the channel!
Yes, at last!! Hopefully the review does the aircraft justice.
Brilliant video. You've put a lot of work into this. I subscribe to a lot of aviation travel videos, and I think this is by far the best. It just came up in my feed for the first time. I've subscribed and look forward to watching more.
Thanks a lot, that incredibly kind of you. You’re lucky: I’m super busy at my day job so it might be a while until I get the next one out, but I have a bit of a back catalogue that will hopefully keep you going! Thanks again.
Finally!! I have been searching for a review like this everywhere.
Yay, you’re finally here, we’ve all been waiting for you!
Thanks for watching, and I hope I can continue to deliver!
Great video.
Thank you!
Awesome again Gerard! Love this review.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Excellent as always!
Thank you so much, I hope I can keep it up!
Brilliant review mate👍
Editing on point👌 10.5/10 😎
Thanks so much! That’s a flabbergasting score, I hope I can keep up with that expectation!
Love your flight reviews! Your honestly my favourite flight reviewer
Wow, thanks, that’s awesome! So glad you like my reviews!
Thanks mate. Great review.
Thank you for watching!
Amazing…I’ve seen these E190s on WFL so it’s great to see the inside perspective! 👍
That was awesome love your work
Thanks, that’s very kind of you.
You made such a great video it was very funny!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it!
Aww I'm jealous I love Queensland! I went there September last year though :) Great video!
I hope you had a great time there! And thanks - I thought I might have gone a bit overboard on this one, but I'm pleased it hit the spot!
Cool review. Id love to fly on one of these, the look cool.
Thanks! I quite liked it, and I agree - they’re a perfectly proportioned little jet. Hopefully you’ll get on one at some point
@@SupersonicKiwi yeah surely one day.
man i love the Qantas boarding music
You should have helped me edit, because I got to hear it a LOT as I obsessively checked and rechecked that I’d got all the details right.
All the E190's are ALLIANCE aircraft. The PILOT AND CABIN CREW operating are all ALLIANCE employees flying under the QANTAS livery. I
Oh, a wet lease. I don’t know how I missed that. Thanks, I have the return flight to make and I think talking about this would be super interesting, thanks!
First video I have watched on your channel. I have liked and subscribed. I loved the informations and graphics and your sense of humour and the reviews and the editing. I also have to say I hope none of the passengers were confused with the announcements that they were going to Brizzy and not Brisbane lol
Thanks for watching, and for your kind and positive comment, I really appreciate it. Yes, a very relaxed announcement from the pilot!
Wellington to Brisbane was the first flight I ever did - in August 1980, when I was just eight years old, on an Air New Zealand DC-8! That was with my parents. The Lindy Chamberlain story broke when we were over there. Been back to Australia a few times since, but not back to Brizzy (although I enjoyed my time there and would like to go again someday). I have done a few virtual flights to BNE in Microsoft Flight Simulator and Prepar3D, though. For anyone into flight simulation, Orbx does a pretty nice rendition of Brisbane Airport.
Highly amused by the Cheese:Cracker ratio, something I've judged myself onboard flights with nothing else to do.
I however prefer my hot drink service cold beverage to NOT fit in the cup, as you have a free refill once the cup has been consumed.
It always feels like a bit of a high five moment when they give you the whole can, and a top up is a nice bonus, but I’m going to double down on the beverage that fits in the cup, haha.
I’ve been mulling over the cheese to cracker ratio for a while, I’m pleased it landed well with you, thanks for watching!
Great video (as always) just wondering what software you edit on? keep it up lad
Thanks! I use Premiere, sometimes there’s a little bit of After Effects. It’s not the cheapest option, but it’s what I know, and the way it saves projects allows me to easily move files and backups around as I flit between projects
Sorry to hear you had to go to Queensland. Hopefully you didn't have to stay there long :P
Great video,, always love catching a Qantas Embraer. They are a wonderful plan with great seats. Always better than being stuck on a B737!
Haha, it was actually a pretty ok trip, but it was short, so maybe that was why.
Thanks! I really liked it, and on reflection it’s definitely better than the 737 - more space, faster boarding and disembarkation, and only one neighbour. And now that I know to take a wee stand for my phone I’m sure that next time will be even better!
You should have been a scientist, but alas you have become a darn good airline reviewer. Well done, BNE is fast becoming a hot spot
Possibly unsurprisingly, I have a science degree. I think it wasn’t my true calling because I kept trying to crack jokes about things that people take a bit seriously. But thankfully those skills are transferable to this career choice! Well, it’s more a hobby that will probably never pay for all of the cameras I have ‘invested’ in, but I really enjoy the process, and I’m actually a bit overwhelmed that other people enjoy what I produce.
Thanks for watching!
I worked on ZK-OXF whilst it was in for maintenance at Christchurch. The first plane I actually fixed
Oh, cool. I realise all jobs become a bit same-same after a while, but it seems to me that aircraft maintenance would be fascinating - so much to know and learn, and so many interconnected systems. Must be massively stimulating and hugely rewarding.
Thanks for being so great at your job so we all get to fly around in the sky!
I'm hoping Qantas introduce the Embraer E190 to their Christchurch to Sydney route, mind you Melbourne or Brisbane will also do very nicely as well., love your awesome flight review. My top score for your flight reviews is 10/10👍✈
Thanks for the top rating!
It’d be great to have the E190 still flying into somewhere in New Zealand - on reflection I prefer it to the 737. I reckon the Air New Zealand A320/321 is the best plane across the Tasman though.
that meal is suprisingly good considering the size of the plane
Yeah, it really was. And they kept bringing more things out.
haven't we gone metric in Australia and NZ?
The only place I can think of is when I’m talking about the seat pitch and my height - I’m more recent reviews I usually say both the metric and imperial, so the person watching can understand regardless of where they live and the system they use. Or are you referring to something else?
Dude, seriously. Laughed till I peel myself a little bit. Sarcasm, cultural cringe and pure aerosexualism made this, without doubt, the best TH-cam flight review ever. Take that Sam Chui.
Subscribed just because you deserved it.
Wow, that’s seriously high praise! I hope I can continue to deliver!
Also, I’m a bit scared to Google aerosexualism. It’s good, right?
@@SupersonicKiwi a person who nerds out on planes = an aerosexual
As a Melbournian, i love supersonic kiwi. Glad his back! How was 🇨🇾?
Thanks! Cyprus was HOT! I was only there for a few days, but what I saw was great, and it wasn’t as expensive as I thought it would be. I’ll be in Melbourne again next January, I really love it there.
during the initial pax brief tech crew never mention loading unless it is causing a delay. lol.
Rampies deserve more love.
Why are the vids posted so lang after the flight?
Because they take me a long time to put together and edit, on average I reckon it’s about 3-4 hours per minute of finished video, and then a few weeks to get permission from rights holders of photos and the music.
On top of that I have a day job that is pretty busy, so that pushes out the times as well.
@@SupersonicKiwi oh ok
All good! Thanks for watching!
Wow! That makes me a historian, right! (0:44)
i've ridden that flight before so not sure about that... or else I'm a historian
I think you’re looking at this backwards - your plane ride will also soon be a part of history too, and when you tell people about it you will, in that moment, absolutely be a historian! Congratulations!
@@SupersonicKiwi i guess i cant deny
Laser sounds... OMG.. Can it get me more excited...
Haha, thank Kevin!
Nice one mate..... This aircraft is better than the 737, more room....no middle seat either!
Yes, it’s only a few centimetres, but you’re right - it really does feel a lot more spacious.
New Zealand has the best pies
Yes, they absolutely are the best.
Why yes! Yes, we do. THE best, despite what my Australian brother might argue.
Can you please do Auckland to Claris great barrier air 😊
I’ve actually been trying to figure out how to work Barrier Air into my schedule, but I haven’t been able to make it work without it costing a small fortune! Hopefully I’ll be able to make it work, possibly later in 2025.
@@SupersonicKiwi ok cool thanks there cool little planes grand caravan my name is Lachlan a 12 kid who lives in nz I’m actually in Samoa right now came over in the 787 Dreamliner
@katherinejoynes4704 oh, awesome, I hope your plane ride in the Dreamliner was excellent!
Automation is good until it affects flight controls in a bad way haha Thanks from a Kiwi in BNE
You’re more than welcome!
I have footage of a few more flights between BNE and WLG, but I’m so behind on others that I might not get to them for a while!
Yeah love it and u did abit of a face revel...
Thanks!
I don’t actually hide from the camera, and there’s a couple of times in other videos where I’m visible in mirrors and stuff, but I feel like the review is about the journey and the discoveries along the way and not about me.
im back
Good to see you! I hope everything is well in your world
This is so hilarious
Thanks!
Great vid. Also a new subscriber won.
Hopefully they all help with your reach.
Particukarky loved the effort on identifying all the spotted aircraft at WEL and BNE and subtitling all the announcements.
Thank you! I’m pretty sure they do - each video I publish has a slightly bigger initial wave of views. This one has actually been a bit overwhelming - 7,000 views in 2 days. That’s a bit crazy to me - that’s an awful lot of people having a wee look, and over a third of them are still watching at the end. So thank you for your sub, I really appreciate it.
You’re only the second person to comment on the aircraft labelling and subtitles - I’m so glad that they’re appreciated as they’re actually quite a lot of work! I do find it fascinating to think about where all the other planes have come from and where they’re going next - scheduling is so complex!
Thanks for watching, and for taking the time to comment. And thanks again for the sub
Oh, she did not sound happy "to have you with us"...
Maybe she was just having a tough day, or she’d been hyped up about crewing an international but then found out it was to Wellington. She worked the front of the plane, so I don’t know the rest of her flight went, but they were all pretty busy - I think there were only 3 of them.
@@SupersonicKiwi Not a job I could do, that's for sure.
Direct between my new home (Qld) and my old (35 years ago!). I might need to take a trip back. It must be a while ago because I only understood half of what you were saying :). but loved the enthusiasm.
The old Air NZ colours were so much nicer
Probably only half of what I said was interesting, so hopefully you got lucky!
Come back for a visit - the weather is still the same, but the coffee is even better.
Yeah, I miss the teal colouring - I do like the way the current livery wraps around the whole tale end of the plane though.
Not Qantas.
This initially confused me, but another comment detailed it as a wet lease, which I missed in the information on planespotters.net. Out of curiosity, where it your line for a flight being ‘Qantas’ or ‘Not Qantas’ - I have footage from the return flight and think the topic of leasing and subsidiaries could be super interesting to work through.
@@SupersonicKiwiYeah it’s Qantas way of reducing cost but it started due to the uncertainty of flying certain routes post covid. The brand QANTAS is not once it was before, even compared to just before precovid.
Alliance wet lease …no thanks.
It seemed all good to me, what’s the story behind this? Spill the tea!
I'm Aussie and i'd rather fly Air NZ. Far less chance of your luggage going missing, flight late/cancelled, arrogant staff, forgetting to serve meals, etc etc.
I guess I’ve just been lucky with my Qantas flights - nothing is more frustrating than lost luggage! I feel like there’s a story behind that comment about forgetting to serve meals - like, all of the meals, or just yours??
Tedious. You breathed in, you breathed out, you breathed in……. …………….._____
So… you didn’t like it? But you watched it anyway? And then took the time to comment?
Or have I misunderstood your comment completely?
I’m so confused
