This was the first-ever AT40 year-end countdown I listened to. I remember the radio station played it at 6pm on New Year's Eve and played it until 2am. Then they restarted again at 2am! I woke up at 10am New Years Day to tape all my fav songs from that countdown!
If I recorded every single episode of this radio series, not only would I have a mess of audio cassettes, but I would also put them on either USB flash drives or CDs for posterity.
1985 was the year I graduated preschool at the E. Ethel Little School in North Reading, MA, & started kindergarten at the Wildwood School in Wilmington, MA. 28:25........................."All Through The Night" will always be a very special song to me as it was one of the first songs we heard on the radio of our brand new 1985 Dodge Colt Vista as we were driving it home after taking delivery of it from the now defunct Burlington Dodge in Burlington, MA the the fall of 1984.
In 83, when Michael reached the stratosphere, he had number 8 and 3 for the year ( B I and B J). In 85, Madonna reached the stratosphere and finished with number 9 and 2 (Crazy and LAV).
1:01:06 This to me is the most interesting discrepancy (I think) between a song being #1 on the year-end chart and a song being the most bought AND most played. We Are the World is only #20 because its success was so intense that it failed on the criterion of chart duration. I think people understand that as a factor, but not usually to this extreme. I certainly would have guessed at a closer correlation if asked before seeing the chart, but I understand the math.

Can you please also do 1986, 1987, 1980, 1981, 1982, and Shode Stevens billboard year end countdown?
Rhythm Of the Night sounds like it could have been sung by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine.
A lot of sad songs that year I really started crying when Diana Ross hit I remember you that was a tribute to Marvin Gaye
can U please do the top 100 of 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1992 & 1993?
People get the young new edition mixed up with the Jackson 5
The Jackson 5 and New Edition sound similar.
George Michael /Wham... Great year... 🎉
Okay: I officially give up.
1985 was one of Madonna's '80s biggest years.
I’d say the BIGGEST. Desperately Seeking Susan was when Madonna was at her peak.

Up next, chasing Lovergirl is Loverboy!
Dick Clark wouldn't play Sugar Walls on American Bandstand because he felt that it was too sexual.
Hall and Oates are now out of touch 😂😂😂
Julian Lennon sounds so much like his dad
