    In order for the worm gear (small one) and worm wheel (big one) to be mesh. The pitch must be equal for both. The diameter of the worm wheel is also important. It can be calculated using this formula >> (Diameter = (pitch x number of teeth)/pi). If the pitch is 6 and the teeth is 60, the diameter will be 114.59mm. If the number of teeth is 60, the gear ratio would be 1: 60. Means that when worm gear rotate one rev, the worm wheel will move by one gear. For 30 teeth, the gear ratio would be 1: 30. Hope this help :)

    Your content is great! And the videos are very helpful. Now I go to class, sit in front of the sreen, put my headphones on and draw whatever the professor tells us to. Thanks for sharing your knowledge

    When you start to design a shaft (or any revolved body), you should start with a construction line as centerline and then add diameters instead of radii. Move the cursor from the line to be dimensioned to the centerline and move a bit across the centerline. The dimension changes from radius to diameter.
    The gearmate can be reversed to correct the animation.

    Gear ratio is 44:1. The number of teeth on the worm wheel is 44 and the worm acts as a single tooth gear, so the ratio is 44:1. Cheers!

      It's hard to do this video if youdon't show the data/calculation on how to make a worm gear...
      The data given to me by my prof is:
      - RPM Driver 1840
      - RPM Driven 240
      - Shaft Angle - 90
      And I will make a worm gear? :( please help

    The proper gear ratio for the motion study is 83mm/gear x 2mm/shaft. I think I made made my threads on the opposite end so I had to un-check the reverse box. And great videos BTW!!!!!

    i have a question: when u draw the thread for the shaft in 5:50, why don't u just draw a circle at 1 end and then draw the helix to the other end and then sweep boss/base. Instead of that, u start drawing from the middle and then u have to draw 2 helix to 2 ends?

    Take gear ratio 44 for worm wheel and 1 for worm shaft in gear mate and Take distance 38.5 mm in mate between worm shaft's face and right plane.
    Do this and Ur gear's teeth will not overlap each other.

    In animation the motor is connection is impractical. The gear would never move. The motor has be connected to the shaft and not the gear.

    Nice work man. I need to make something like this with more worms. Something like an automatic barbecue station. I've added one more screw to the axis and i'm trying to atatch one more gear on in the assembly but i just can't make it spin like it should. What would be diferent?

  • @catkeys6911
    @catkeys6911 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video, and I appreciate your effort, but if you are trying to teach this subject, you really should have the correct gear ratio of 44 to 1

    • @PavanKalyan-ig2bp
      @PavanKalyan-ig2bp 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it's not correct, because 1st selection is worm and it has more gear teeth than shaft. If u give that ratio (44:1) then worm will rotate 44 times for 1 rotation of shaft

    I think that the number of thread impression on the wheel gear depends on the pitch of the screw. Please explain. But the tutorials are good. Thank you!!

    Hm, i think you made a mistake. At 13:00 you choose counterclockwise, at 17:09, for the 2. Sweepcut, clockwise. Thats wrong in my opinion. You can make that sweep in 1 cut, choose the Startpoint wisely.

    Both the teeth are not exactly mash you need to create a mate to perfectly mash it. Then suppress this mate ensure the rotation then create a mechanical mate
