A winters day session at a familiar lake attempting to find the Carp. Fishing at Eye Kettleby lakes.

- You join me here at Eye Kettleby lakes on a cold day session in mid February.
I walked the lake the day previous to this session and only managed to spot one solitary fish right by my feet in peg 13. With only a few fish coming out over the whole lake I wasn't feeling confident of hooking one.
Every time I've visited the lake I've always seen numbers of fish close to the landing stage tight up to the island in shallow water. It got me thinking that there was a possibility they might be in a very similar area in slightly deeper water. I set out trying to find the deeper spot close to the landing stage in the hope I might drop lucky.
The plan was to use solid bags in this deeper zone on my right rod and use a single wafter 2 yards off the island in 6 feet of water on the left rod.

Hi Buddy, I have the Fox Mini Micron X3 and have had no issues with false alarms. Nice video and well done on catching those 3 winter carp.

That's good to know pal, the reason I mentioned it was after browsing through a carp forum there were a few members slating the micron x stating this false bleep issue.
I guess there's always the chance of a dodgy batch with any product.
And regarding the 3 fish, yes I was over the moon with them on a winters day, I expected to blank to be honest.

Been tough going the last couple of times ive been... had 3 last outing 13lb the biggest. Cracking venue though, also went on lake two sunday just gone and had another 3 out all low doubles but stunning carp.

Sounds like you've done the business pal, I got talking to a few blokes on the parkland who hadn't caught a thing or had any touches. It's obviously fairly difficult on most waters through the winter but that place should be rocking in 3 or 4 weeks time. Cheers for commenting pal.

Hi mate I've got the mini microns x3 and every now and again they beep for no reason sometimes 5 or 6 times I find just touching your line to reset the alarm solves the problem luckily it's only happened during the day.. I've had them 18 months and it's only happened a few times other than that these alarms are amazing for the money

That's interesting that it's a random thing. At least you seem to have sussed out how to reset them though and to be honest pal I couldn't agree more that these alarms are awesome for the price. I've had all sorts of alarms in this price range and these are easily head and shoulders above all of them. Thanks for the feedback it'll hopefully help others when choosing their next set of alarms.
