Go1 deserves major props for his endurance. JP to Guile to JP with so many long matches and going to the final game final round multiple times with zoner matchups that are already so draining with frequent burnouts yet still consistently landing lvl 2 reactions is so impressive. I think the back to back Guile into JP was just 30 minutes straight of GO1 fighting zoners.
I really love the way your videos are evolving and changing BrianF! You are starting to fill a niche that doesn't really exist with these like overviews of tournament matches and player interviews (podcast). I really enjoyed your SF5 content, and your SF6 content was kind of lacking to me for a while, but what you've been doing lately has been great! I can tell you are putting in a lot of effort into making better videos and evolving your channel and content. You're starting to become a pillar of the SF6 community, providing content to make the competitive fighting game scene seem much more legit, more similar to other Esports. Keep up the good work!
Ayo - nice recap. I feel like there were a lot of editing updates - no tabs, transitions between big Brian and gameplay, and it felt like the replays were edited to fit more with the talking points. Nice quality!
@@Dhampire1976 I know he's been playing Terry mostly lately, but I thought I remember him saying that he's just playing Terry right now cause he's fun but not that he's dropping Ed. Could be misremembering though I guess.
There's a lot of convo about being able to "tell" who is playing what SF6 character, but one thing I can spot a mile away is Kakeru's JP. No other JP plays like that.
Seeing the evolution of your scripted videos has been great and you can very clearly see the difference in effort and how hard you're trying to experiment while keeping the classic Brian style intact. Great video!
Thank you! Yeah this was a hybrid, i didn't script anything to keep that sports desk feel, but this actually ended up making me dona billion retakes lol and we over layed the visuals in post. Still tinkering to find the right balance for these recap videos but I'm happy with how this one turned out.
Really enjoy these more edited and narrative-based videos! Very engaging and really makes you invested in the "storylines" so to speak (I know these are not really new for the channel but if my memory serves me right, these feels like a step up with the intro etc)
I just want to say that I appreciate you for doing such entraining updates on the SF6 competitive scene and community, for someone who doesn't know how to follow everything thats going due to either being busy or simply not knowing. Keep up the amazing work Brian! 🙏
After the Momochi SA3 counter, he lived in Kekaru's head rent free. The final round was just brutal. Kakeru was broken down. Then again, he already qualified. I'm hoping Momochi makes it.
Love these recaps. I don't really keep up with the CPT because I mainly compete in Strive but these videos are so well made I can't help but watch every one lmao
Your keep refining the formula, and it's getting better and better! Looking more professional without us being able to see the browser tabs (although that was cool in and of itself lol). Also I like that you went to the players' livestreams to take clips and show reactions. Awesome content, thank you!
Nice editing man, also Japanese pop offs are so godlike lol dudes are expressive, to say the least edit: Momochi is so solid holy fuck, there are few people that can play as cold as him in such situations, specially with such a technical character.
This was a really enjoyable video. Understood where the stakes were and kept me engaged. Perhaps this was to up the stakes a bit more, but you kept mentioning Kakeru playing with a nerfed JP. But they reverted a couple of the nerfs they made to him, and he is back to being one of the best characters again, which is why I suspect Kakeru went back to him.
Ok this is cool and all, but is there a place where someone who’s new can go and see highlight matches rather than all matches? League of legends has games that are much more highlighted than others, where should I look?
Commenting only the last second of each match is a bit silly: 1- those are not necessarily the best plays, and do not necessarily reflect the whole match. 2- Victory icons at the top spoil half of the clips
Thanks for the comment. It's not intentional clickbait, kakeru qualified with JP and it's literally a quote from him that I mention in the video. I had 0 intentions of making you think the video is about me, the title is "He finally did it " not "I finally did it", and the quote in the thumbnail is in... quotes. I wouldn't be doing a video about myself playing Jp in the 3rd person with a made up quote to boot
@@Brian_F Oh yeah no don't worry, I def knew that the video was gonna be about Kakeru, it's just that the thumbnail and the quote on it in combination is just funny to me and that I couldn't help myself with making a reference to your JP. I will say though as someone who did get inspired by both your and Kakeru's JP plays back in S1, this resurgence of JP players coming back, between Kakeru and Bananaken, is very nice to see considering how it seemed like the JP playerbase at top competitive play has significantly dwindled
Playing spoiler = when you compete to take away someone else's chances for victory/qualification (like how go1 gatekept higuchi from qualifying) when you yourself have little to gain
Gr8 vid but Brian not missing a single chance to mention Ed is nerfed & it's done too many times to a point of cringe!! S before coming at me open a bottle & take a shot everytime Ed nerf mentioned! I know u r drunk now mate
"Playing spoiler" is a phrase that roughly means "competing when winning would cause more negatives for others than positives for yourself". It's very unlikely for GO1 to change his position in the regional finals, but because he has made it so far in the bracket, his performance influences who automatically qualifies for capcom cup. So Brian is saying GO1 is "playing spoiler" i.e. potentially spoiling somebody else's bracket run without seeing a benefit himself.
The Capcom pro tour is a joke man, they literally block the best players from competing. I hate the region lock events. It's called WORLD WARRIOR. How are you going to region lock it? I miss when everyone traveled every week to compete worldwide!
Brian I'm sorry but I must tell you that your pronunciation of "Kakeru" keeps haunting me from the beginning of sf6 tournaments. The correct pronunciation in Japanese places slight emphasis on the second syllable ('ka-KE-ru') rather than the first. Your version sometimes sounds like "Kakaru" or "Kakadu".That's not right.
Yeah i had fixed my pronunciation at one point, then recorded this whole video and realized I went back to the old one again out of bad habit. Trying to consciously get it correct. I'm terrible at pronunciations even in English.

Why are you saying "GO-1 is playing [ spoiler ] " instead of "Chun-li' ? Is her name autodetected as a swearword by youtube or sthg?
