Nice explanation Darrel. I picked up that same drum brake measurement tool, but I haven't used it yet. Strangely, I also have that same exact digital caliper from Harbor Freight too. I'd not thought about the distance of each side from center. Next time I swap a wheel, I'll be ready. Thanks.
Hello All, My rear brake peddle does not return after applied on 2012 Gear-up. Cleaned every thing and lubed, checked return spring. I'm stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Have you totally removed the pedal and cleaned out the sleeve where it passes through the frame? I had the same thing happen to me and where the part of the brake pedal passes through the sleeve on the frame was so filled with gunk it kept it from returning.
Just did this and it's made my brakes, front, rear, sidecar SO much better, thanks.
