I love my Greener! I love the recoil and everything about it. I've used other shotguns but there's just something about my gun that I enjoy so much. And it was made the same year I was born so it's 56 years old.
Very well built, taking the barrel off will never wear it out,the gun cases were made so you removed the barrel to fit the harpoon GP was also cased in the take down mode! ,
in the UK a 50p piece is all you need to unscrew or tighten that screw....it's the perfect width and form to apply all the torque required without the possibility of a blade slipping out of the slot and marring the action/furniture.. (a 2p will suffice if you're short of funds)
Is the Martini breech of a GP Greener 12g as well as the barrel? I ask because I have found a 14g gun and another listing for a 12g barrel. Can I make the 14g a 12g GP or will it still be 14g?
I had a Mk. II and it came in the original lockable case which I assume they intended you to use and the barrel had to be removed to fit, is this not correct? I wanted to love mine, but just couldn't shoot it even with light loadings without it hurting my shoulder.
There will not be a specific date...all proof marks will be applied to the barrel and action to be visible without removing any furniture... the forend is easily removed by unscrewing the two screws underneath.... discovered under mine the number 53 and an H ... these are likely to be inspector reference marks rather than date related....
Hi, I am looking at a GP Mk II take-down that appears different from the one in the video.It does not have a safety lever, and the take-down screw uses a hex wrench instead of a slotted screw. it also has a ribbed barrel, and a mid-bead.is this because the one in the video is a Mk I ?Thanks.
Does anyone still shoot with a single barrel regularly ? I had one when i first started shooting back in the dark ages, but as soon as i could bought a double barrel.

You say it shouldn’t be taken apart... but if you use it regularly, surely it’s better to do so for cleaning the barrel?
You don't need to remove the barrel for cleaning, just run a pull-through cord or rod through the opened action

Might be a trap gun? The ones I've seen also didn't have the side safety.
