The bit of advice you gave from 5:25 onward was the best possible advice you could have given, especially "Know your limitations! A very good video!

Congratulations from Australia on a great video. I made my own quad sticks and love the certainty they give me. The ethics of longer shots is something ALWAYS to be thought carefully of and I abhor those who don't care if they wound an animal. All well done in this video.

Great video, and very important advise, to know ones own limits. Great shooting by the way.

Firstly, it's a damn good shooting by James - congrats! Analizing series of just 2 shots is not very scientific, however.

Hi where did you get the muntjac target from? Very useful review.

I can shoot much better from sticks if I am sitting with my backpack supporting the butt of the rifle. If am standing, I shoot much better with a tripod up front, sticks supporting the butt of the rifle to my shoulder. I live and hunt interior Alaska. Practice on balloons helps as the size of a balloon is appropriate and reactive and you can also read the wind at great distances.

What's the point? Shall I haul a shooting table to Yukon?

my thoughts exactly, on the hill in Scotland, it's unavoidable, but the videos of American hunters shooting at 700m plus, effectively target shooting at a living animal is a disgusting lack of regard to the animals wellbeing and swift death.

C'mon, I bet they retrieved the games and ate the meat.

On YT you mostly see long range shots that go well.. the misses and bad shots are probably not shown.
Also US appears to have relaxed laws for tracking animals. In sweden, hunting Roe and larger requires you to have a dog and search party ON SITE 2 hours after the shot.
If a hunter shoots and hurts an animal, they will loose their hunting and weapon licenses and will pay a hefty fine. Wounding animals when hunting in sweden are tied to strict regulation. Swedish hunters have high ethics and morals.
And 95% of the shots taken are on moose inside 70m and most shots at roe etc at at most 100m

@@jmkhenka plenty of shots been messed up within 200 yards, I’ve seen them done. But you very rarely here about anyone loosing an animals even at 50 yards, even though it happens.
Who’s more proficient some who shoots a a couple times a year at 100 yards then goes to shoot the occasional deer, or someone who shoots consistently out to 1000 yards plus and is confident in the right conditions to take a 700-800 yard shot on an animal. I know which one I would rather hunt with.
On a plus note the majority of long range hunters are still happy to take a shot at 50 yards as they are at 500, just how what ever is presented on the day.

@@stevenroberts9212 ethics warries over countries when it comes to long range hunting. I sweden a shot over 150 meters is uncommon and majority is below 80. But then sweden is 90% woodlands. Also here the laws are strict regarding wounding. If one shoots an animal they need to find it, and law even dictates you need a tracking dog within 2 hours. So we don't take risks, we risk jail time and fines if the situation is deemed unethical. But that's worse case, in reality it almost never goes that far most have dogs when hunting or know someone who has one close.

THE GUN IS OBVIOUSLY NOT SIGHTED IN PROPERLY IT'S SHOOTING RIGHT AT 200 YDS. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE HE MISSED THE WHOLE TARGET BY ACCIDENT. I BELIEVE IT WAS DONE TO PROMOTE UR STICKS. I AM FORMER US MARINE!!! KNOW YOUR LIMITATIONS BEST PART OF VIDEO.
