This is so rad. I played Football, Basketball and Baseball at ESHS (graduated 2003) and Chuck was always there helping out at every game. The dude is an ESHS legend and it's awesome you guys did this for him.
For whatever odd reason, entertainment inspired by love takes a back seat to all the hate and violence they're force feeding us. It's just too bad they didn't realize that love is a thousand times stronger than hate.
Sad but true...but yes that production level though. TV should take notes. The amount of organization and community participation it takes to get this to work. Great team setting these up for the amazing people.
I revisit this video often. Chuck was my uncle and died about two years ago. I got to spend his last few years with him. A couple things I thought I should share for anyone who wants to read: He wore that letterman's jacket almost every single day. He had framed pictures of each sports team at El Segundo dating back decades. I'm talking like the 10x20 ones. All over his walls. When he moved, we had to move them into a large book as a compromise, as he didn't have the wall space. He kept as many up as he could. Chuck loved movies, especially old westerns. He had a dog named "girl" that he spent all his time with, and has always had at least one dog since he was a child. He told me that one day he just went up to a practice and asked to help, and he was an honorary assistant coach for most teams from then on. Chuck didn't have an instinct for being mean or selfish. It just was never his first thought. I don't think I ever saw him do something mean. He didn't have to try to do right, he would have had to try to do wrong. My main role in his life was helping him with technology, switching between cable and DVD, and helping him figure out the dreaded "Input". He had so so many films and film books and would always reminisce about the movie stars he met living near hollywood. Any time I came over, he would talk to me about the sports teams, and show me all the signed balls, and jerseys, and everything. We didn't even find out this video existed until months after it was published, because he was so humble about it and didn't bring it up. When Chuck died, he was living with us a couple hours south of ESHS. We made sure to host a memorial in the area, and even though it was raining, many, many, ESHS students came to say their goodbyes, even though he hadn't been coaching for maybe 2-3 years at that point. The main reason Chuck didn't want to move with us when his father died, is that he didn't want to stop being present at ESHS. I miss him so much, thank you to this channel for preserving this memory. I'm so glad I was gifted the opportunity to know Chuck.
Ok, I am late to the party here as it is now 2021. I can say from personal experience that Chuck is a great guy. He was our assistant back in the early 90's when I played on that baseball team. At 45 years old now, I can honestly look back at those days as some of my best memories and Chuck is present in those memories... wow this video was great.
i dont live in a great area and when i watch these videos i just wanna help people it reminds me humanity is worth saving i wish i could have a job like this
even if I couldnt do the things they have been doing well I got the opportunity to know that its so gud to be the part of someones happiness and to make them happy.
i think its good that this channel has a little view.. so they can give surprise to this unsung hero and deserving people.. tho it would be nice if this channel has more subscriber and views.. keep spreading positivity guys and those positivities will spread one at a time to the world
