I’ve been following other reactors to get additional perspectives on what Tom is saying (full disclosure, I’m 62 and never listened to hip hop because the messages were about self destruction through alcohol, drugs and lack of respect for others). There are references to things not understood by my generation. I hope you’ve made it this far because I’m giving you props for bringing new insight that others don’t have. As a rapper, you are able to shine a light on the significance of intricate bars that others miss. Thank you for that. You should check out Sober by Tom with Nova and Madchild. You end your reactions with an invitation for people to reach out if needed and that we are in this together. That’s why Sober hit me so deeply. I’ve never had any kind of substance abuse issues but a brutal level of depression. “Sober” sums up that battle that must be fought every single day. I’ve been following other reactors to get additional perspectives on what Tom is saying (full disclosure, I’m 62 and never listened to hip hop because the messages were about self destruction through alcohol, drugs and lack of respect for others). There are references to things not understood by my generation.
I hope you’ve made it this far because I’m giving you props for bringing new insight that others don’t have. As a rapper, you are able to shine a light on the significance of intricate bars that others miss. Thank you for that.
You should check out Sober by Tom with Nova and Madchild. You end your reactions with an invitation for people to reach out if needed and that we are in this together. That’s why Sober hit me so deeply. I’ve never had any kind of substance abuse issues but a brutal level of depression. “Sober” sums up that battle that must be fought every single day.
I’m in my 3rd bonus overtime and I fully understand the entire, “I do me and here’s a gift for your negativity 🖕” POV. When you’ve given death the finger, it alters ones perspective and you take life as the grand adventure that it is and what is important comes with a clarity that is indescribable.

I like how the snare slowly comes in on the last verse. Usually instrumentals can distract you from the words, but this seems to make his words hit harder.

I’m a hardcore Red Dirt & Outlaw Country fan. I also listen to some Rock. I had never listened to a song by Tom MacDonald until he released this song. I generally do not like rap but I appreciate good lyrics so there are some outliers for me.
He’s fantastic. He talks about real life and things that people of all backgrounds can connect with.
Since he released this song I’ve watched it half a dozen times.

I love the message of the song. It hits major points and issues we face today.
I think he crossed several lines. But at the same time, somebody has to. Somebody has to let people know these things. Someone has to call it out. So it’s great that he did.
This song has been needed for so many years. And i agree with 99% of everything Tom said in the song. Rape culture isn't a thing in America. But in the middle east; yeah, it's an issue for sure. And racism isn't even on the top 50 issues America is actually facing, media just likes to make it seem that way (which, i think, is another hidden message in this song). But all in all this song was absolutely amazing and refreshing to hear. I love your full break downs of songs. Keep them coming knox
