Hey guys, bit of a PSA here: - I will not be doing more remasters like these for Killswitch because of the lack of high quality multitracks online. - This is still the original composition, there are no additional instruments to this or anything that will make it sound "different" apart from the mixing and mastering. - This was made using Rockband stems, which are premixed to fit the game and emphasise the guitars. Keep in mind there is only so much I can do without complete instrumental multitracks. - Please keep the feedback civil, there is no need to be a prick to get your point across. - Mixing and mastering is a skill that takes a long time to fully grasp, I'm not a senior professional nor am I getting monetary gain from doing these, I am simply learning as I go and doing my best. Thank you everyone.
Please, for the love of God, remaster Rose of Sharyn. This and your version of My Curse are simply incredible, to the extent that I listen to these more than the original tracks. Sharyn is my favourite KE song and if you gave it the same treatment I'm sure it would be beautiful.
Dude yes, I second this motion! Rose of Sharyn was one of the first metal songs I ever heard and was one of the very first ones where I thought "alright yeah, i'm definitely into metal" as a kid
I thank RODERICK STRONG for introducing me to this awesome f'n song because it perfectly encapsulates the split second I met my forever because it was exactly as Howard Jones sings:the END OF HEARTACHE (after 40 long years...thank you God for protecting my heart and giving me a reason to still believe in love 💕💕💕💕). And to you Mr. Jones....no one and I mean ABSOLUTELY NO ONE will ever be able to do this song better than you!!!!!!
No shade on Jesse but Howard did always perform this song a lot better. Howards vocals always did fit in better with the more melodic side of KSE due to the timbre of his voice. Probably a very controversial opinion since Jesse was the original vocalist.
I don't think that's much of a hot take, not for this song; after all, this is very much a Howard song (he wrote the lyrics, as this record was his first with the band) and really is meant for his voice. I love Jesse and Howard's stuff for very different reasons, and Jesse doesn't/never really had the range for some of the tracks made during Howard's run. Howard just had some amazing pipes, what a frickin talent.
@@socksrfootjail7257 I miss Howard in KSE too 😭😭 The Devil You Know/Light The Torch has been a different sort of formula and it doesnt hit quite the same way.
Not controversial at all. Howard has always fit this bands sound much more. There's a reason why the band just kinda fell into obscurity after Howard left. He's what made them so unique and fresh.
Look i love this song, something about this remaster doesnt give that full punch that the original does but i appreciate that you took steps to try remaster something as iconic as TEOHA, Something is missing, it feels less full and punchy. i know nothing about mastering so you probably understand more then me for sure, but just a gut feeling. Wish you the best mate
okay on my DT 990 Pros (studio quality open ear headphones), this is definitely missing some of the bass / mid sound compared to the original (listening back to back)
It's still the original composition. I haven't recomposed anything so don't expect it to sound different. I have only remastered the multitracks. Thanks for listening 🖤
The vocals are quite reverb-y like they’re in an echo chamber. However, everything else is top-notch, most excellent… btw, I am listening thru quality bluetooth earphones.
I like how the bass is more forward. My only critiques are Back off the compression on the kick, turn the overheads down a bit, turn the leads down, then the doubles on the cleans are a bit much. Other than that I like the width and the high end on this master.
The stems are from Rockband so I'm guessing they must have drowned out some instruments to make others stand out more. Unfortunately I can't do much about that.
I never rewrote the song? I haven't touched the composition in any way, it's still the original. I simply tried bringing it to a more modern take using the multitracks.
"Remastering is the process of taking a previously released piece of music-whether a song, EP, or album-and applying new mastering processing to it. This often involves the use of both standard mastering tools, like EQ, compression, and limiting, as well as specialized restoration tools, like RX." Hope this helps.
@sixdustmusic using the stems from Guitar Hero Van Halen is not the best way to remaster a song. Songs typically have 12-24 different tracks before being done into a final mix, the Guitar Hero stems compresses the hell out of them to fit into a 4-7 track mix, which is noticeably a weaker mix than the actual song.

@jacobrh1 Please do go into detail in how you feel it's messy. I'm doing this to practice and get better, I never announced this to be better than the original and I never said this would be replacing the original. I enjoy remastering music and I had a couple of requests to do this one, it's not that serious.
Bass is very much present. Cymbals sound a bit off because these are Rockband stems so they are premixed to sound better while you're playing (emphasing the guitars). There is only so much I can do without the complete instrumental multitracks.

Rose of Sharyn is also my fave KSE song, would love to hear it remastered!
Agreed
This Fire Burns
Yes!
20 years later. Still an absolute anthem.
this has to be one of my favorite singers top 3 for sure!

The legend has returned
God, this song is a metalcore classic. Thank you so much for this. This remaster is stellar.
I’ll be WAITINGGGGGGGGGGG
Oh, man!!! I enjoyed this song like a maniac when i was like 12-15 years old!! This plus Rose of Sharyn were MASTERPIECES!!! Thank you!
this bring back my memories
love this Howard era's

Not really all that controversial. I miss Howard in KSE a lot. The music just isn’t the same since he left.

@@Rose.Of.HizakiCheck out Sion!!
Wow, it sounds huge, especially the kick drums. Congratulations!
Not sure why a masterpiece needed a remastered, but I ain’t mad
I don’t know why but I have this feeling of breaking people’s backs while yelling ADAM!..
Adam is KSE point blank period.
Wider, thicker, love it!
Crisp, clean condensed. My lord.
Holy shit, Howard! Love this song

Sounds great !!!
Please do This is Absolution!! Love your work.
best song IMO from As Daylight Dies
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Im literally willing to give my bank account for a ‘This fire Burns’ remaster SixDust
It is pretty good, thanks!
I love HOWARD JONES! Though JESSE LEACH rejoining the band is epic! I saw them with SLIPKNOT in 2021
LET'S FUCKING GO!!!
okay on my DT 990 Pros (studio quality open ear headphones), this is definitely missing some of the bass / mid sound compared to the original (listening back to back)
love love love
Eyyyyyyy!
Would absolutely love a rose of sharyn of your remaster treatment
This goes so hard
More old Killswitch please 🥺
Keep em comin
It never ends...
Nice! 👍🏼
SOUNDS LIKE THE ORIGINAL BUT, IVE BEEN WAITING FATHER
It's still the original composition. I haven't recomposed anything so don't expect it to sound different. I have only remastered the multitracks. Thanks for listening 🖤
extraordinary
🙏
❤💯 agree rose of sharyn

Fixation on the darkness next! with Howard ofc :D
0:50 banger love it 🖤🔥🤘🏼 anything Killswitch Engage 🔥

Killswitch ✊😎✨
I'm sorry man you're gonna have to do a remaster of When Darkness Falls, cheers👍🏻
Fucking Amazing brother
It sounds the same on laptop speakers but I'm sure if I listen on headphones it will be a different story! Awesome work
Perfection
Can you do killswitch engage - arms of sorrow next please :D
And killswitch engage - rose of sharyn :D
You really need to remaster Symphony-X early albums😭
What happened to the previous version of your remaster? Can’t find it
where's the image from? It's very cool
God I miss Howard in KSE
It's missing something but i can't make it out.
They were a lot heavier when the name was DEVIL YOU KNOW!
Remaster my last serenade by Jesse leach what are you doing!!
Does anyone know the name of the artist who made this drawing?
Teresa Ramos. it's in the description.
Хорош😎🤟
If you like this band you should look up DEVIL YOU KNOW! And they renamed the band to LIGHT THE TORCH!
You do know LtT is Howard too, right? So Is Sion.
HOWARD JONES! I know that voice anywhere!!!
No fucking way haha
THIS DIIII❌❌❌
Can you remaster any BFMV songs
Cymbals sound super weird, like they're far off in the distance.
The stems are from Rockband so I'm guessing they must have drowned out some instruments to make others stand out more. Unfortunately I can't do much about that.
@@sixdustmusic Ah that's a shame. The rest is great, and I loved the My Curse remaster you did.
Did you just add a channel with Jesse into the original? 🤣
Uh, not really?
Hell Yeah!!! Have you done My Last Serenade yet?
you can't remaster a song that was already written and mastered by Howard jones, his voice and passion can't be matched.
I never rewrote the song? I haven't touched the composition in any way, it's still the original. I simply tried bringing it to a more modern take using the multitracks.
Howard us more talented than jessey, Jessica soulful voice gives me the chills like no other singer can,
Remaster this whole goddamn album why stop at just one
Can change the original concept to remain cool and not deviate from the original 👊😊salute respect
This is cool and all, but the production on the original is like 10/10 to begin with.
I've mentioned this quite often, but there is no different production in this. No new instruments, no new vocals, just new mixing and mastering.
musica maravilhosa mas não notei nada demais nessa remasterização hehe pra mim ta mesma coisa sorry!!
"2024 remaster" these are just the Guitar Hero Van Halen stems of the song

@TheSonic497 Appreciate the input, I am aware. Though these were the only stems available online and I wanted to have my own take on them.
When Metal core wasn't poser genre
No disrespect to Jesse. But Howard was the better singer for KSE.
The original sounds way batter.....
I don't see how it's "remastered." It sounds like the original version

Sounds like they just added more reverb to the vocals and called it “remastered”
@@ericnay7733 he just made the mix messy and called it remastered lol
@ I guess he’s technically not wrong. Remastered doesn’t technically mean it’s better lol

randy orton was here.
No hate but I miss howard
No tiene sentido lo buena que es esta canción
Not a good sound I prefer the original in the original form .
so bad .. old versions are better ,,, this vice is thin and naked
Good thing this version doesn't replace the old one and both can coexist without cancelling each other out.
bruh this is just the original master squashed down to shit with no depth LOL
Not really. I used the multitracks. But thanks for your feedback.
Remasterd schlechter als vorher...!!
remove all bass from song. add way too much air to cymbals. remastered EZ
Bass is very much present. Cymbals sound a bit off because these are Rockband stems so they are premixed to sound better while you're playing (emphasing the guitars). There is only so much I can do without the complete instrumental multitracks.
