    Baking soda works well to remove stains on tea/coffee cups/mugs. I filled an empty plastic Parmesan cheese container with baking soda to keep under my sink.

      You can use just salt to clean coffee or tea stains away from mugs. When I worked in the dish room and washed dishes for 5 restaurants I just took salt on my hand and rubbed the mugs,and they where as New. Cheap and easy

    Baking soda removes tea stains without damaging the cup. I put mine in a glass sugar shaker and keep it at the sink. Just place a few shakes into cup, a wet cloth or a few drops of water with a damp cloth and rub. Rinse and dry. Use the baking soda for any non scratch cleaning that is needed.

    Bon Ami is better than Bar Keepers Friend. Less abrasive and less toxic.
    Very inexpensive and is so gently effective.
    I no longer use the newspapers due to the ink causing streaks. A spray bottle with water and a little white vinegar and using some of the lint free cloths makes the mirrors and glass topped tables shine beautifully.

    I like to keep one spray bottle filled with water and dish soap for general cleaning and another filled with bleach and water for things like sterilizing and stains on a coffee mug. If you have coffee and/or tea stains on porcelain just spritz it down with some of that and let sit for a few mins. It will magically be like new. It also works on plastic bowls you kept foods like spaghetti in and are now stained red.
    Now if you have a lot of that just like she mentioned they had there (I know she was exaggerating) then you can just fill a bowl or sink with some water and bleach and soak them and knock them all out at the same time. BOOM!
    If you use good ole Joy dish washing soap mixed with water, you can clean glass just fine and leave no residue. It's a trick I learned from the car window tinting industry and is actually the best thing you can do for glass.

      HAL 9000 vinegar cleans better than bleach and is environmental friendly

    • @staceykersting705
      @staceykersting705 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Or...put a lil baking soda in the cup. Let it sit at least a few minutes. Excellent bleaching action without the toxic side effects!

    • @HAL-dm1eh
      @HAL-dm1eh 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What is so toxic about bleach being put in a sink and diluted with water? It's not hurting billions of people in swimming pools so I'm a little baffled as to how a little in a sink full of water to get rid of some stains and then washed down the drain is toxic.
      I've kept fish all of my life since a child and know that it can kill them if present in their water, but wait 24 hours and it has completely dissipated and the water can be safely used. How can something that completely dissipates within a 24 hr period be so hostile to the environment?

    • @staceykersting705
      @staceykersting705 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      HAL 9000.............., just as u mowing the lawn with a gas mower's no comparison to the jet fuel that's dumped into the atmosphere....it's hardly a drop in the bucket. That said, we may want to reduce our footprint where reasonably possible. I do occasionally use a bit of bleach, but where I can find a reasonable alternative, I chose that. Yes, I drive a vehicle and am not strictly vegetarian, so.....we all are free to make our own choices, but I wd encourage everyone to 'go green' where they can.

    • @HAL-dm1eh
      @HAL-dm1eh 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Here's the secret for all us poor people. U can wash and clean EVERYTHING with 2 main products, white vinegar or baking soda. Yes U can use it below as shampoo and conditioner substites, I also use baking soda as a dishwashing powder and vinegar in the rinse aid compartment. And if U can't afford laundry powder U get 1 cup of soap flakes ( I grate and grind my own), I cup of Lectric soda and I cup of baking soda. Mix it together and U have a very good laundry powder. Google it to find similar products if U can't find these ones.
