Yes. So many comedians resort to a lot of dirty jokes and it’s a complete turn off for me. Dirty jokes that are disguised as something else can work great, but just going straight to the point is hardly funny..

Stop with the clean and dirty … if it’s the joke then that’s the joke. Who fuxkn cares whether it’s a dirty joke or not. Grow up what are we 6 still in Hebrew school? He’s great because his accent plays a role in his acting of “dumbfoundedness” he also knows how to milk out his one joke and get several laughs. He’s fantastic. But he had an entire skit on curse words so knock off the holier than thou garbage

Ismo, I have lived in Finland since 1981 (with one 5 year exception) and Finns have given me compliments. Unasked for. People not related to me. Strangers on the street. A Roma lady came directly to say "every time I see you you're smiling. Keep doing it" (she said it in Finnish, and yes, olen ihan varma mitä hän sanoi). Another Finn complimented my coat as we passed in the street - she also swerved to get close enough (yes, Finnish social distance) to be sure everyone knew she meant my coat. @@theR0NIN I love how your remark of passive aggressiveness was also passive aggressive. I set the tone of conversation so I can't really blame you for that. The fun fact is that I'm Finnish, so you're mostly right about me not giving compliments. We (including me) do give compliments to small children, but adults actually have to earn those.

@@Jinppa Heh, I wasn't being passive-aggressive, I was being direct and saying exactly what I meant (including thanking you). Your remark about small children made me grin, too. I think that's actually a good perspective.

Untrue. I’ve seen drunken total strangers in Finland congratulate recent high school graduates.

When I frst heard Americans saying "I like your..." I found it very strange. Especially that it's framed from their perspective explicitly. As if it's more of a statement of THEIR taste rather than a respect to the person they're talking to.
