Maybe it is because Gavin shot that movie or other movies that they choose not to use them.

Like Hot Fuzz(one of my favorite movie) Dredd, Sherlock, I was really looking forward for him to analyze his past works.

I was super annoyed. He's mentioned them on multiple occasions so you'd think he wouldn't have any hangups on talking about them now. Vanity dropped the ball........
Watching Gav talk about slow motion vs doing literally anything else is so baffling how different he is.

Diagnosing celebs is a risky and irresponsible game but also I wouldn't be suuuuper surprised.
Its baffling that people sometimes believe the stuff gavin says arent on purpose. The guy plays the idiot and mumbles words as part of his persona for pure entertainment. The man is very smart in humor and content creation.

@@tylersmith9868 Makes perfect sense. He wouldn't be impressed at a man running fast, rather he'd be impressed at the man keeping up with him filming him in various angles and shots that would make the cameraman even faster than the man running.
Like with rock climbing videos and documentaries. Don't be impressed by the guy doing everything, be impressed by the guy doing the exact same while carrying an 80 pound camera with him.

The moment when these youtubers give better cinematographic insight than any other celebrity interviewed
Gavin has worked in movies shooting slow motion professionally. and Dan was in the UK army- hes trained in firearms. So it makes sense they'd have a lot of interesting things to say.
I mean the celebrities "make the movies" but they don't literally make movies. Not sure why you'd expect many of them to know that much about what goes on beyond acting. Generally speaking they don't run cameras, direct, edit, animate, compose, or write. Their job is to think about nailing their scenes and be consistent and they aren't required to know anything beyond that.
A cinematographer having better cinematographic insight than a celebrity who does not do cinematography. What a weird concept.
They have technical professionals for this series, not celebrity actors.

First one of these vids that i've watched all the way through and not gotten bored. Love seeing Gav and Dan on stuff like this. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Shame they didn’t show Dredd 3d. Honestly some of the best slow motion cinematography I’ve seen. Such an underrated movie.

Although I thought a more iconic scene is Neo and Morpheus in the combat training sequence.
@@theod9548 No way. Neo dodging bullets is one of the most iconic scenes in cinema. You got the knife in the shower, Jack Nicholson chopping down a door, neo dodging bullets.. I would argue the combat training sequence is cooler and more well done, but dodging bullets is the small climax of the movie right when Neo is starting to figure out he's truly the One.
I feel like dan related to the hurt locker scene a lot more than gav because of his background in the British army

I would love to see a second version and maybe even a third. Recommendation: The Great Gatsby. The one with Leonardo DeCaprio and Toby Maguire. Also the Polar Express.
I was waiting for Game of Shadows - because Gavin actually was part of the slow motion crew for that one.
Hes done a dozen Hollywood movies and none of them were in this. The wired or whatever other channel that did this first has him talking about movies he was part of
Thank you Gavin, I agree. Quick Silver would destroy people if he touched them that fast. I also said he could kill Dark Phoenix in milliseconds as soon as she blinked.
I always thought that too, they made him so much faster in the film than the comics which is cool for the sequence but then for the plot he could basically solve any problem so they had to write him out one scene later.
She's both telepathic and telekinetic, why would she need to see him?

i love how Dan mentioned an alien watching inception and not understanding it. Dude i had to watch that movie 2 or 3 times before i actually really understood everything that was going on. It was actually kinda cool going back and watching a scene again then suddenly the light bulb goes on like "okay now i get this"

hearing the matrix score gives me the ASMR. one slow mo scene that always stuck out to me was the trip wire mine explosion in Behind Enemy Lines. watching the guy being slowly lifted off his feet followed by the wave of shimmering air and then the rubble. really well done.

I took a drink each time the word "explosion" was used, I passed out.

I can't believe you didn't do 300. Immediately thought of "This is SPARTA!" and any of the fight scenes. This was pretty good anyway 😊
Somebody told me that 300 has so much slow-mo in it that if you were to play it in real time the whole movie would be like 22 minutes.
I was hoping he was going to bring up how good the last clip looked. It's such a great thing to know that all the old films still preserved well can be scanned and viewed at ultra resolutions and they won't lack resolution for several standards in the future.
I like how they explain there’s a difference between what looks like an explosion and a detonation. Detonations by the time you see them have already been done for quite a while. It takes a LONG time for things to start moving/falling in detonation

I heard somewhere, that in the old episodes of baywatch, they used the slow mo scenes to makes the episodes longer, as they didn't have the budget to shot more footage.

That matrix shot was filmed around the person with no added shots on a circular track around him
I love how Vanity Fair wont get claimed by UMG for using copyrighted music in the Days of Future Past scene (or any scene that includes copyrighted music) because they're a large company. Fair use, amirite!

Surprised they didn't mention that in the Inception Bus scene, the snow falls at normal speed while the Bus falls in slow-mo. Added to the effect.
Next episode show them Community's S1 paintball ending and specifically Senor Chang's entrance at the end.

Watchmen (2009) also has fantastic slow moments.

If they're on again I'd love to see them react to the various slo mo scenes in Dredd. The one where Ma is in the bathtub will stick with me for a long time.
I believe Gavin did the slow mo for that movie.
