OCEAN WAVE SWIPE TECHNIQUE. Fluid art/acrylic pouring

Working on a 18x18" canvas today. These waves have so much movement in them. I sell quite a lot of these, but each one is unique. I do not put silicone in my paints I just add a very tiny amount in the white that I use to swipe with after all the colors are down.

I love your technique! I've only done waves with a blowdryer, but I'll have to give this a shot! The palette knife curly cue work definitely defines this as one of yours! It has such beautiful movement!

I put 2 to 3 drops of silicone in about 5 ounces of white paint..the same paint I use for my base that has floetrol and water as the pouring medium.

Do you use regular acrylic white paint for the base or pouring paint premixed with medium or pour medium in the paint

Can you post what your paint to water measurements are? I would like to teach this to a kid's art class, but need to know exact amounts of paint needed. Thanks so much!

My paints are mixed 1-1 with floetrol and a littel water (not measured and depends on the paint being used) I like the consistency to be like warm honey if that makes sense. Also make sure all your paints are the same consistency. Hope that helped

What kind of paint do you use? What is the white paint - acrylic gesso?

I use all different acrylic paints Artist loft, Golden, Amsterdam just to name a few. The white base is Artist loft white.
