  • Easy and satisfying Tutorial on how to do an Acrylic Pour of a Perfect Ocean wave, Here is your opportunity to impress everyone with this simple technique of pouring a perfect ocean wave in one chance. Believe me, its not difficult - just a little patience. Follow the wave pour video and instructions and ask questions if you need further help. The supplies are listed below - if you miss anything I can give you suggestion for alternative items.
    If you like the video please subscribe - this will encourage me for more art tutorials.
    What you will need
    A Canvas - I used a 18” x 24” Canvas as I wanted a pretty large wave. You can use anything rectangular. You can try the first one on a 10x12 inch canvas.
    Colours: Any brand of acrylic colours - I used Liquitex Artist Colours.
    1. Titanium White
    2. Cobalt Blue or Pythalo Blue for the dark
    3. Teal or Manganese Blue for the light
    All other shades will be created once they mix with white :)
    Pouring Medium
    1. Floetrol or Liquitex Pouring Medium or Golden GAC
    Silicone Oil
    1. Any treadmill Oil which has silicone oil mentioned in the label or use the Brand Spot On available on Amazon. Alternately you can use the Coconut Serum Milk by Organix - again available on Amazon:
    For pouring - A few disposable hard plastic cups, a dozen popsickle/ice-cream sticks a kitchen scale for weighing unless you want a trial and error approach, a flat spatula or any hard plastic for flipping the cups, a butane torch, lots of tissue and disposable gloves if you are allergic to paints.
    Mix the pouring medium with equal amount of paint and then add water slowly checking the consistency. It should be like honey and make a sllight puddle when dropped from a height of 4-5 inches - not too thick , neither too thin. Mix a drop of silicone oil at the end and stir 2-3 times only.
    Use a plastic sheet to place the canvas and you can keep it raised by using anything so as the surface is level and steady.
    Spread the white thinly, evenly and remove bubbles. Pour each cups and glide them gently across the white - allowing it to mix a bit. use colours directly in the end to make shades. Use the stick to design the path correctly.
    After you finish dry the artwork normally - never in the sun or below a fan - the paint is multi layer and it should dry evenly. Allow 2-3 days and then touch to see if its completely dry. Finsh with Clear Gloss Varnish Spray or brush over 3-4 coats. I am sure you can make this :)
    Please feel free to ask anything about Acrylic Pouring below in the comments and I will try and answer.

    I looked at many wave videos, and your technique looks the most like real water! This is the one I will try.

    The best natural looking wave yet. Some waves I've seen people do have some straight lines, no straight lines in waves, good job...

    Could you please tell how to clean the silicone oil after the paint dries? Also the easiest method of varnishing a pour painting.

  • @sanyuktachakraborty6228
    @sanyuktachakraborty6228 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I loved this pour. I’m new to this form of painting. I’ve seen that it’s difficult to get rid of the silicone oil. If I want to resin this painting, won’t it be difficult? Can I just leave it as it is? I’m sort of scared to use silicone. Please advise.

    • @easelart1398
      @easelart1398  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Silicone is not scary - just 2-3 drops - once done on canvas or art board you can spray varnish to get the gloss.

    • @InfinitaGioiaPatCHesall
      @InfinitaGioiaPatCHesall 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@easelart1398 wow.... with spray varnish no need to clean the painting from silicone before finishing? Please confirm this... then I’ll have found also my way thank to you 😊

    Since you are not lifting or tilting the picture in a "pouring" technique, is this paint thicker than you normally would make it?

    One thing I would like someone to comment on to help me out is ... what do you put down to clean up easily? I was using newspaper and that was a disaster and then I tried an old table cloth .... Of course I think I somehow make a bigger mess than anyone else also. lol

    • @easelart1398
      @easelart1398  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha ha, I used a big plastic sheet .. normally wash it ot leave it, so that I can use it 2/3 times more.

    How can you call this a perfect pour how to video when us viewers have no idea what size of canvas used, how many ounces of pain in each cup and then you didn’t make enough paint to the piece.
