me as a 17 year old this song helped me get through middle school because i was getting bullied and now i look back i am happy that i was able to get through the bullies. now that i do online school and im gonna be graduating this year i just look back and said "hm those people were bitches". one thing that i constantly heard was " you can't be into that music, you're black". a lot of the music that you have reacted to has helped me get through those hard times and i say thank you for shedding light on REAL music.

You could label them EMO but they were on a different Tier in my opinion. A few Punk bands ascended the Emo label and MCR was one of them.

Others have probably said this but MCR doesn't really have a defined genre aside from Rock music. Also the whole point of their music is that life sucks right now, the world is pure noise and chaos, but we're gonna get through it. That's its okay to not be okay. And you're not alone.

I took this song as the point of view of a male friend who has a female friend dumping her problems on him. And all he does is try to help her but she seems to think he wants her in some way and she constantly says she can read what he wants. And it's just not going anywhere between their friendship. She's being mistreated he offers advice and she just doesn't listen to him and he's finally at a breaking point.
I tell everyone I know that I'm ok, to not burden them with my problems, but I'm not ok but I try to make the best of my situation
This specific genre is post-hardcore punk rock. Honestly you just gotta do a whole discography reaction to them. Every song on Conventional Weapons, Bullets, Three Cheers, Black Parade, and Danger Days is a bop.
