Hey Kibitz, for road service items such as stop lights, stop signs, and crosswalks, you can select them in the toolbar then right-click on them on the map to remove them. Removing a stop light will create yield signs on the smaller road making the larger road a non-stop flow.
Right now, removing the crosswalks does not stop the people from walking over the road. I guess it's a bug. I have heard about the "no left/right turn" doesn't work either. :(
@@blastingweevil2968 you can definitely make yield signs how he described, but it's super specific. If you have a 2 lane road crossing a 4 lane, put stop signs on the intersection and then right click it again with the stop sign tool. Doesnt work if you have 4 lanes crossing 4 for example. It's very specific when it works which is kinda lame.
@@blastingweevil2968 There are Yield signs in the game. If you have a road crossed with a smaller road, and traffic lights are there, if you remove the traffic lights, a yield sign appears on the smaller road. They are not there as plopable assets.
Which is weird, because in real life a gym wouldn’t be competing with salon, even though both would be zoned as commercial businesses. Therefore, even if you had many businesses in a small area, it wouldn’t always be true that everyone would be competing with every one on a city block or through a mile of downtown. Alas, I don’t think City Skylines 2 is programmed to be advanced enough to do this, ironic considering that a major focus point of your cities economy is the businesses that rent store fronts and supply your citizens with goods and services.
Compared to many games releasing their 2nd, 3rd, even 10th edition of their games, Cities Skylines has done a great job transforming their content but not in a harmful way.
Fun little fact for scoring some free money- Selling power back to the grid is very profitable! Like 250k month profitable if you use the solar farm and geothermal! Limiting factor is the 400kw maximum export rate via a single outside connection. Be sure to slowly adjust your budget down until the solar is utilizing exactly 100% of the power it’s generating to greatly maximize profits!
There are red lights at the end of your big intersection slip lane / highway off ramps. If you select the traffic light tool and right click the intersection it will remove the traffic lights.
I'm finding it kind of bizarre that a lot of the buildings have footprints that are just way too big, especially for dense areas. Like it's nice to have that option but really there should be a university that's just a building, it's really weird.
@@bob20011 The university in the video only had one building and used tons of extra space though. Universities right in the middle of big cities don't always have sprawling campuses cause of the urban density.
Just a small difference that I'm having trouble getting used to in the new game as well, but you don't have to de-zone an area just to rezone it. You can overwrite zoning in the game now. Just a small thing I noticed you were still doing. Great stuff, though. Love your drive for peak efficiency.
Seeing how Kibitz plays city skylines 2, they did a really good job on the game and made it feel like it’s perfect for Kibitz with his way of eliminating problems and creating solutions.
I think kibitz should build a new mountainous area with roads winding up and down the mountains, the mountains could also be covered in trees and you could build some houses/lodges on the mountains it would really remind me of my country scotland and I think it would be an amazing addition in your city!
I could watch and listen to you do this for hours, and I don't even play the game! There are lots of creators that make CS2 content, but there's only one Kibitz. More Please.
Can't wait for actual high-density colleges and so forth to be in the game, like in the first one. That will be so helpful for the ridiculous demand that cities can generate. Also high density large households, which despite what the game will tell you, is entirely possible.
In this game it's usually advised to make other transportation better than useing cars because everyone want to use car more than other transportation and you know what's happened if people only use car's.
Have u tried it yet? I could play it at default, but it works way better turned down. Not as bad as I thought it would be. There is a glitch or hick up placing roads sometimes but everything else has been smooth
@@firefighterLTP I had only popped into the title screen before having to work and it was crazy laggy even though I'm above the new rec specs. I dropped my resolution down to 1080p from 1440p and nothing else and it's been totally fine! I only notice giga FPS hits when trying to place down big buildings like the cemetery for example.
I bought it and played for about an hour or two. The buildings look like they are sitting on top of crumpled papers. With no Move It! functionality you can't play around with it until it works. You just have to deal with row housing that looks like somebody's busted chops. Same with large buildings. Zoom in and look closely. They are not lined up with the sidewalk. There are little gaps everywhere. People were right, it needs to go back in the oven.
For the taxes on raw materials, I think increasing taxes on exports and lowering taxes on imports is the way to go. Also, by buying tiles all the way to the edge of the map, you can create outside connections for roads and water/sewage.
I think it could be interesting to have ships transfer the trash around the city in a dedicated shipping lane. It would help out traffic and make it more efficient potentially
You did not connect your main power outlet from the incineration plant which is at the back facing the river. So, the generated high voltage power is not transformed back to your grid voltage. You maybe able to connect them with a transformer unit?
hey man, i've been watching your videos from France since a while now and i just wanted to say thank you for the entertainment that you are providing us. Keep it up and don't listen to bad and mean people !
Listening to your narration is how I imagine actual politicians and people in power talk and make decisions… “some people will die, as long as not all of them die” 😂😂
gonna have to pick up the sequel soon enough. But at 50 dollars? I'll stick with the original and its many mods until CS2 goes on sale but while watching this video I've noticed many mods for CS1 are included in CS2. Which I love. Not to mention many of the CS1 DLCs are also pre-packaged with the game which is also fantastic. I know I'll be getting my monies worth. But 50 bucks is too expensive for me right now so CS1 + Mods + DLC until the sale!
10:43 I like to imagine that college specializes in Agriculture research and training like my local area college lol. but really, urban farming is probably a bad idea from a realism POV, given gas powered vehicle emissions... Sure farm equipment is diesel-powered, but there isn't the combined emissions of an entire city right next door (and hopefully they're not downwind of a city lol)
add a district then have the policy for fee for roadside parking. jack it up to 50$, never build parking. People will either use public transpo or pay the parking and you get a lot of monies
15:25 hmm why are they all taking the Car instead of Public transit? maybe it has to do with the induced demand for cars with all the giant highways and parking lots? nooo couldn't be 😂

I had that issue at first. If your building around single homes do like 1 build for every 10-15 houses. When zoning commercial the overlay will highlight where theres enough customers but its hard to see unless its filled with medium or high dense

You don't have to build that many farms just build a couple of them and make your grain field larger it works better every time!
Is there any disadvantage for having more farms instead of bigger?
