When you started @ 4:37 the percussive finger thingy, I went wild! THAT was so cool! Love your Rhodes playing Sir. Thanks for sharing here with the World.
That's some mighty fine playing, my man! Damn I love a Rhodes! You just about can't watch a group from the 70s that doesn't have a Rhodes on the stage.
Bill Pappas Thanks for your comment, the backing track is from the Jamey Abersold learn jazz play along series. I can't recall which volume this is from. The tracks are high quality, and when you buy them you get additional literature for practicing like different scales (written out) along with charts for the play along tracks.
When I was recording at this time, I was running two setups. I can't confirm which one I was using here, but it was either 1 of 2 setups: 2x SM58 Mics (one per speaker, at rear of cabinet) 2x line outputs from the Janus Poweramp 1x Stereo Reverb Pedal Routed through a Peavey USB6 mixer Or 2x line outputs from the Janus Poweramp 1x Stereo Reverb Pedal Routed through a Peavey USB6 mixer From listening, I would wager it's the latter setup used on this video.

really nice god i love that electric piano sound. question tho why do you and ever other jazz guy play this tune in Am. thats the wrong chord 100%. Em G Cmaj7 F#m7b5 B7alt. why everyone subs Am for Em I have been trying to figure out for 20 yrs. AWESOME PLAYING THO dont mean to take away from that. just that ppl obv learn this stuff from watching others and not from the record (guess thats the career cover band musician coming out in me...lol). 75% of the tunes in the real book are totally wrong, for instance.
Its been awhile, but I am fairly sure on this recording I was running a combination of two 57 mics on the cab and also direct output from the preamp at the same time.

Gets better every time I hear it. Masterful playing. You have real discipline and skill. Amazing groove.
Sometimes a clean, dry Rhodes, sound, with a touch of tremolo is just the best!! Nice version!
Thanks a lot!!!

I really liked this. Though I am a guitarist, my favorite sound is a well played Rhodes piano.
Richy Rich exact same here, either or Rhodes or Wurlitzer
*I love this music on a Fender Rhodes piano* 😀🌈🎹
When you started @ 4:37 the percussive finger thingy, I went wild! THAT was so cool! Love your Rhodes playing Sir. Thanks for sharing here with the World.

You sir do this song great justice, very much enjoyed listening/watching you play.
I appreciate the kind words! Thanks for checking out my videos.
Your use and overall sense of Intelligent chromaticism is brilliant. Obviously the progression lends itself to it but still.
That's some mighty fine playing, my man! Damn I love a Rhodes! You just about can't watch a group from the 70s that doesn't have a Rhodes on the stage.
I love the Rhodes, and I really enjoy when modern players use it today!

God. Unreal. I feel Like just digging a hole and getting in it. How can a human do this?
Michael Walker thank you for your kind words!
awesome playing. whats the signal chain for the rhodes? is this thru a tube amp??

It's really good, but the stereo stuff is a little unfortunate.

It's not wrong, it's different.
Ryan Conway i could not explain it simpler, clearer, more elegant, and majestically as you did.
I'm glad you agree! I really can't stand 'note for note' interpretations. Just put the original record on if you wanna hear that.
i throws me off just as much i feel you
and you are ridiculously rude
✔👍👏👏😍🎵👌😘
what kind of fx and amp do you run your rhodes through
Its been awhile, but I am fairly sure on this recording I was running a combination of two 57 mics on the cab and also direct output from the preamp at the same time.

too much wah wah.
sevchyk pretty sure it's not a wah but a panner instead
ok, anyway, that lag is irritating, yet the playing is nice.
