The piano accompanying the organ towards the end was very tasteful/tasty.

I enjoyed a recital once a while in the National Cathedral in Washington DC, but never really realized how complex these instruments are. Seeing it built as a VST is really interesting. It is something different to watch compared to most plugin tutorials, especially as you know how to use and play it. Thanks for sharing this video.

The best part about modartt stuff its not hundreds GB of storage and gigs of RAM sample libraries. It's full blown physical modeling synth

50:54 that’s hilarious, Pianoteq does that to me sometimes too, it’s always when I’m trying to get it to do something completely over the top with the physical model. IMO, Pianoteq excels with expression-based modulation (e.g. velocity controlled felt, polyphonic aftertouch pitch bends, etc) and it seems like it could be fun to experiment with similar things in Organteq. Great video, man! As a non-organist, your explanations were really helpful.
Edit: I see you’re in Pianoteq now (1:12:58) doing some of the same things I’ve done to make it lose its mind, ha. “Smooth x2” can be helpful in some cases if your LFO (or otherwise modulated) morph is making Pianoteq go nuts.

I guess that is really the better synth.

Hey James, nice work! I literally just did a video on the future of the organ, and this stream seems to be following a similar idea. Would love to discuss with you!

I’m glad that all my organs are sound designs by nature. Otherwise I would probably have died a long time ago. SCNR

Setting up a TH-cam live stream is awkward and irritating - I never understood why you have to start it twice, why you need a dedicated key for each one and can't just press a button and you're live like in Twitch and I already messed up too when I started a stream with my default video description which annoyed a lot of people as they expected something else. The whole TH-cam live streaming thing needs an overhaul.
Anyway: I've attended master exams by organ players from the local University for Music and Theatre, where they played in churches stuff I'd never expected on an organ. Like Arvo Pärt, Philipp Glass or György Ligeti, not Bach and ... Bach. And then some more Bach 🫤 If you enjoyed Organtec, can you do some "modern organ music livestreams" where you don't upset the Pope or whoever's in charge at your regular place? I'd enjoy that! 😉

Personally I never watch live streams. Always starts with “can anyone here me” and all that stuff. Watch later and fast forward all that. Love you vids tho.
