    I know in theory the dig setups the same, but I think what some of us noobs need is how the adjustments on the chan 4 would work vs the physical install. The electronics is where I get confused. This is a great vid btw, thanks for making it.

    bout to pull the trigger on the rtr vanquish,,,coming from a 10 yo scx10, it looks amazing,,, why aren't you putting dig? I wanted to see you set it up,,, I like the way you carefully did the overdrive

    • @the-ab-outdoors

      You won’t regret it! I don’t use dig as it’s not a feature I think I need. Not to say you won’t use it, but I find for the type of driving I do and the terrain I just don’t use dig enough to justify putting the servo in the truck. Since I mainly rock crawl with it I actually don’t even have the overdrive servo in the truck either and just have it locked into overdrive. Installing dig is essentially the same as overdrive, but in a different location (on the battery tray) and with a longer link. I can make a video on installing it if there’s enough interest, but I didn’t want to make a 20 minute tutorial on both since they’re essentially the same process. 🍻 and enjoy the new truck!!

    If I wanted to hook over drive up on my rtr, wouldn’t I want it on channel 4 so I could have 6%, rwd only, and 40+% ? I don’t know I’m just asking, I haven’t done any of it yet. I would think dig on 3 and OD on 4 on the rtr controller.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on your application, you could get a better remote, and have front or rear wheel drive if you so choose! 🍻🍻

    • @christopherjohnson6433
      @christopherjohnson6433 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Needs to be on Chanel four so you can switch to 2wd also. Channel 4 had three settings

    and thanks for the overdrive one!!

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The dig install is exactly the same as overdrive, the only difference is the servo goes into the battery tray and you use a longer link for it. However the principle applies to check and validate the endpoints are set much like overdrive.

    • @the-ab-outdoors

      Have you tried to rotate the wheels slightly and engage od? Sometimes the truck needs to move slightly to engage in dig and od

    Question: If you were going to add just one which would it be dig or overdrive?

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on the application. If it’s an all around trail & fun climb truck then both (if I had to choose overdrive > dig). If it’s a dedicated crawler I’d lock it into overdrive and leave dig off personally. If you plan on doing any competitions with it both will have to be locked out for class 1/2

    Are you using the stock motor and esc or did you upgrade yet ? I’m fond of the Hobbywing fusion on my trx4 but I’ve read the fusion and fusion pro doesn’t fit in the phoenix.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good day! Yep the motor was upgraded to a fusion pro and fit fine, albeit did take some finesse to get it in place. You can check that out here - Vanquish Pheonix RTR - Updates and Bash

    • @the-ab-outdoors

      Sorry about the luck! Did you try plugging the servo in the other direction? At first when I installed the servo I had the same issue and it was because the plug was backwards.

    With dig can you put the rear in neutral and overdrive the front as a sort of faster trail speed?
