People started rushing to random counters, the signs were hardly legible, folks started pushing and elbowing each other to make a beeline to the counters. As I stood there gathering my thoughts on which counter I should go to, I noticed there was a White lady and her 7 or 8 year old daughter infront of me and the little girl asked her mom, "Mom, where are we?", to which a passing by passenger remarked .. "Welcome to Hell!" That is how I would summarize Pakistani airports.

I was traveling to Frankfurt from Karachi for studies, after getting my boarding pass, immigration officer was asking a lot of questions and enjoying enforcing his authority on me for no reason and asked me to go inside the room for questioning. His face portrayed that he was doing that for pleasure.
Digitizing and streamlining the process would solve most of the airport problems. Web check-in and e-bording pass, simplified and digital car parking and a visitors gallery, is what your airports need I guess.

I am a German and I can travel to almost all of the world without any visa beforehand, for me travelling is a breeze everywhere but when I come to Pakistan the way they deal with people sucks. Eiher you get a old chacha who has not idea what his job is and asks needless questions or you have some young guy who will start chatting with you about your life abroad, and you feeling embarrassed as you feel the hateful eyes of dozens of people who are waiting behind you. Pechle log soch rahe hotey hain ke ye banda konsa bomb le kar ja raha that ke itna time le liye. Just for context, in most of the world or at least west, you have the E-immigration grates, no need to talk to anyone!
Stages are actually 11: 1. Car inspection 2. Ticket check at the gate 3. Pat-down after luggage goes through scanning 4. Questions about what's in the luggage 5. Narcotics inquiry 6. Customs inquiry about dollars and foreign currency 7. Luggage is taken at the ticket counter, and boarding pass is issued 8. Immigration officer asks questions, takes picture, and stamps passport 9. Another officer checks the stamps and asks questions about your trip 10. Scanning of hand luggage and another pat-down Then you are allowed in the waiting lounge 11. Your boarding pass is checked at the gate before entering

Once at a Pakistani airport the person stamping the luggage tags ran out of ink. I had to wait 5 minutes before she got ink. She didn't let me proceed without stamp.
Actually when u travel from uk to Europe, its just 2 stages, 1:scan my boarding pass to open the gate, 2: security check and then I walk straight to the gate to board the plane. Takes around 10 max
Same in the US, you check in your bags and then go through security. Two step process and you then walk to your gate.There is so much inefficiency in Pakistan, I guess they are finding ways to give folks employment but 80% is non value add. Use the same folks to pass through the airport much quicker
Although these problems are wide spread in Pakistan I think they are more centric in Karachi Airport or some regional airports which are overused such as Sialkot etc. I travel multiple times from Islamabad and that is breath of fresh air in most cases. More Check in counters, spacious security and passport controls and Good Free Wifi all around the airport. Obviously the airport is new and much modern. Karachi should at least be upgraded (although a New terminal is necessary) as it is right now the busiest.

First of all, when I reached Lahore Airport, they didn't even let me enter the concourse hall because meri flight mein abhi 5 gintay rehty thy (The reason was I went from Islamabad to Lahore). Anyway so it was the middle of the night and I was not feeling safe, so I had to phone here and there to get some reference. Khair shukur hai aik bnda nikal aya, then I went straight to the concourse hall thanks to the "guy". Jb boarding pass liya immigration pe gye. They were treating me like I'm some kind of a convict. Pehly to immigration waly sb ko yaqeen ni araha tha k mera visa kese lg gya hai. He fucking sent to another madam to verify k vignette sticker original hai ya ni. Then I had to wait for another 15 to 20 minutes because they confiscated some dates from a passenger and was busy eating that in the small room on the side. They didn't even bothered closing the door😅. Haram khaane ki adat jo hogayi hai. Khair then I was checked three times. And finally after an hour of khwaari and awkwardness I finally went to the lounge. While returning from Vienna, I was thinking k idr b yehi scene hoga wohi khwaari hogi, but to my surprise I went straight to the boarding stall. They gave me my baording pass, uske bd checking. They didn't even searched me, I passed through the machine and it didn't beeped, so they were like you're good to go. Uske bd immigration pe, the guy just looked at me and stamped my passport. Slow slow music lga hua tha, seedha lounge mein aur udr se plane pe.
Ap Iraq gaye hain apne wahan Basra airport par ap steps dekhain 1. After reaching a point 1kms away from airport, you can only use airport security Vehicle to drop you to airport. They charge $15 for 1km distance 2. They stop before reaching airport. Your bag is sniffer by dog, your luggage goes through scanner. Again you go back sit in the same car. 3. Luggage scanned on airport entry door. 4. Luggage scanned before boarding counter. 5. Luggage scan before immigrant counter 6. Luggage scan before lounge 7. Finally... You reach lounge thinking you are now naik and cleanest person now in the entire world. 8. Before entering the plane there you have to put all your hand luggage in a scanner and they will ask you to leave important things from there. Finally you reach in the plane.. Yes last month mai Newyork se vapis aa rha tha tab machine se boarding paas liya and khud luggage jama kar diya. Phir security check ke baad boarding pass scan karke direct flight gate no pe pahunch gya. And hamare yahan delhi mumbai me ye lambi line emigration ki desh chodte vakt bhi 1-2 ghanta line me lag ke emigration stamp lagvao. Chalo entry ke vakt to immigration line samjh aati h vo har jagah hoti h par ye country se bahar nikalte vakt bhi emigration line ka funda samjh nhi aata.

This is the only airport where the people who arrive and their passports are checked twice by the immigration. The first one with entry stamp another officer checking whether the entry stamp has been affixed or not.
the new Lahore airport entrance needs at least 2 hours just to get the car inspected and get the parking card, and another 2hours to scan the card and pay the parking fee

I think this is an older video. I have almost always had more problems in airports abroad. I travel to Pakistan almost every year, and the worst time for me at airport in Pakistan was during covid. The lines were longer, the check-in counter staff was uncooperative. I saw lots of passengers struggling. But in 2023, my experience was far better. I really request airport authorities to give free wifi all over the airport including the parking. I saw a free wifi sign right before boarding the plane only last time but by that point I didn't needed wifi.
Better than what? Better than Worst, yes but it is still one of the most testing experience I have encountered whenever I travel to Pakistan. The only way to avoid it is go there early so you have atleast time on your side to comfort you through this madness

ASF guy asked me to come out, i came out with my laptop bag; the guy rescanned and this time the antenna moved towards my bag. ASF guy asked what's in it, then added, "koi medicine waghera tu nhi", i replied in affirmative. He then let us go. This is real event.

I faced mental trauma from the 2nd stage immigration officer, who treated me like a criminal, hold me for almost an hour without any reason although I was going on a multiple-entry visa to bring my wife to Pakistan who was in Brazil for cancer treatment, had all the paperwork, medical reports, already working at a key position in a multinational and having highest level of education, no plans to move abroad and had an extensive travel history. He stopped me and mentally tortured me for an hour with a clause that why I married a Brazilian and why I wish to bring her to Pakistan for the remaining treatment. He was forcefully trying to impose his own views on my mind and the entire activity's purpose was to show the powers of their authority. I spend my whole life in Karachi since birth but because my birth happened in Sheikhupura, Punjab and my passport had no information other than the date of birth so he was treating me in the way as if I want to escape to a foreign country. This trauma was so severe that besides the fact that I am a very strong man, I was crying in the lounge until my flight departed. I wish such treatment will never happen to anyone not even my worst enemy. I wish to file a lawsuit on my return but my friends suggested me not to take any action against immigration due to their egoistic problem.
Travelling to UK and other countries entry is contactless and leaving you just need to go through scan. Karachi airport pe tu chakker hi ajate hain jate hue. You forgot to mention Karachi airport has two scanning locations, first when you just enter and again just before you enter lounge.

Very funny, i know indians are saying our airports are better. But their was a time when they did the same. The worst part was, no urgency from any officers or workers. One had to wait for them to stare at you or wait for them to finish scratching their behind.

Boarding, Security check and Immigration takes 15 to 20 minutes from Mumbai which is one of the biggest in India.

I think this is an older video. I have almost always had more problems in airports abroad. I travel to Pakistan almost every year, and the worst time for me at airport in Pakistan was during covid. The lines were longer, the check-in counter staff was uncooperative. I saw lots of passengers struggling. But in 2023, my experience was far better. I really request airport authorities to give free wifi all over the airport including the parking. I saw a free wifi sign right before boarding the plane only last time but by that point I didn't needed wifi.

Better than what? Better than Worst, yes but it is still one of the most testing experience I have encountered whenever I travel to Pakistan. The only way to avoid it is go there early so you have atleast time on your side to comfort you through this madness

About that handheld antenna device, real incident at JIAP Khi,the antenna moved towards our car. ASF guy asked me to come out, i came out with my laptop bag; the guy rescanned and this time the antenna moved towards my bag. ASF guy asked what's in it, then added, "koi medicine waghera tu nhi", i replied in affirmative. He then let us go. This is real event.

Even last time I forget to print my ticket and I show him by mobile screen the security guard not accept and said go print it and will alow you to go for check in

my experience is always good in Karachi people are cooperative and minimum it takes 30 min to reach the waiting room for flight time.
I faced mental trauma from the 2nd stage immigration officer, who treated me like a criminal, hold me for almost an hour without any reason although I was going on a multiple-entry visa to bring my wife to Pakistan who was in Brazil for cancer treatment, had all the paperwork, medical reports, already working at a key position in a multinational and having highest level of education, no plans to move abroad and had an extensive travel history. He stopped me and mentally tortured me for an hour with a clause that why I married a Brazilian and why I wish to bring her to Pakistan for the remaining treatment. He was forcefully trying to impose his own views on my mind and the entire activity's purpose was to show the powers of their authority. I spend my whole life in Karachi since birth but because my birth happened in Sheikhupura, Punjab and my passport had no information other than the date of birth so he was treating me in the way as if I want to escape to a foreign country. This trauma was so severe that besides the fact that I am a very strong man, I was crying in the lounge until my flight departed. I wish such treatment will never happen to anyone not even my worst enemy. I wish to file a lawsuit on my return but my friends suggested me not to take any action against immigration due to their egoistic problem.

Travelling to UK and other countries entry is contactless and leaving you just need to go through scan. Karachi airport pe tu chakker hi ajate hain jate hue. You forgot to mention Karachi airport has two scanning locations, first when you just enter and again just before you enter lounge.

Went out of county 19 times only had a problem once while going to Canada.
Islamabad is the best airport. 10 to 15 minutes you are in boarding area. Friendly staff. Not sure about other airports.

Very funny, i know indians are saying our airports are better. But their was a time when they did the same. The worst part was, no urgency from any officers or workers. One had to wait for them to stare at you or wait for them to finish scratching their behind.

I'm from Rawalpindi , but working in Sharjah when i got my vacation confirmed i decided to go to Karachi coz i had my marriage fixed in Karachi nd i had very bad experience , sometimes I'm like , kya ye waqiye airport tha

Couple of times I've been asked whether I'm carrying any gun or not after checking with that fake bomb detector device at Karachi airport.
