I am the lady with the kiddy pool trying to get my daughter , dog and stuff to safety. Not once i saw or heard first responders. No one helped us either to evaluate or to at least help us out of our places. I am very disappointed at the city at the mayor of the city . We lost our place! Our stuff! And we didnt even get a warning! Is devastating

you mean what our overtaxed dollars is supposed to keep cleaned out. ? also Florida is below sea level. up north years ago, the corp of engineers didn't do their job and flooded our little town quickly. diverted enough water to climb those massive hills.

Florida as a state is 100 ft above sea level. Dade/Broward are at about 10 ft above.
We sit on limestone. The water drains through as it always has & always will.
Local agencies STILL need to perform their due diligence with pumps & drains, etc.
Compare to New Orleans and other Gulf shoreline cities from MS to TX, they dip down to approximately
10 ft below. They stay flooded longer, sometimes weeks because they sit on sand...in other words, MUD.
The latest right now around here though is that there is another development trying to grow in the gulf,
so we'll know more in a week I suppose.
