As a CPA, I am often asked about franchises. One of my main suggestions is that the person go and work at the franchise for a long enough time for them to understand the reality of what it means to own one.
Well, that may give them a glimpse into the operations of the business, but unless someone helps them gain a grasp of all of the aspects of running a business they will still be in for a big surprise. If they know an owner who’s willing to show them the ins and outs of running a franchise they’re lucky because most people only want to talk about the positive aspects of their businesses. That’s why a channel like Franchise City is so great because they give you an honest assessment of what you’ll face as a franchise owner.
You are absolutely correct. You marry your business. Your main enemy in the business is the employees. I wish I was younger so really I can franchise a new business. Great video as always. Thank you 🙏
What creates or allows "bad employees" to flourish or create havoc? Those are the root causes of who, what, when NOT to do. There are bad employees but at the core they are bad people.
Right here! th-cam.com/video/PpVb1xvm5vY/w-d-xo.html The first step is determining if the business is franchisable. Franchising is a very complex model with a lot of regulatory oversight and may not be a good idea for every situation. Thanks for visiting.

The food business is one category that you should stay away from. The cost has skyrocketed, and people are staying home currently.

Hi Robert - Just took the test. It suggested what I've done in the past. Interesting results.
Thanks for the comment!
very insightful, many thanks
I suspect the number 2 reason for failure is not fully reading and understanding the terms of the franchise argument.
Besides tools, expertise and all the goodies, is there any discount or financial benefits from the franchisors if going through you vs direct?
Really wished you would create a video how to manage employees...how to avoid pilferage and attrition....and identify toxic employees
Excellent advice.
thanks for visiting!
