Dino and Cadillac I have to admit in saying I'd never heard of the game before researching this, but actually really enjoyed it. Punisher was also another game I found pretty fun to play, but no where near as fun as the WWF game. Now that was unreal. The speed, the action, the moves, the characters. Amazing
For those light gun games, I highly recommend using the Wii remote in a plastic gun with the Mayflash dolphinnbar. That is if you can pick up some cheap Wii controllers and gun cases for cheap. I have the pistol, "crossbow", and the Big Buck Hunter rifle cases. Makes all the light gun games really fun. If you can't find all that for cheap, then spend the money to get a really good gun like the Sinden.
There are quite a few options I've found for running lighting games through Batocera. Been watching Batocera Nation regarding use of light guns on it, it's a very strong possibility they will get added at some point this year. Wii remotes seem pretty cheap nowadays but need to see what will work best with my cabinet and set up. Mayflash dominator sounds crazy badass lol

Not sure who Jason is (maybe another commenter here) but have played in one of the arcade 1up machines and totally get where you're coming from, especially if you have large hands. My self built one doesn't suffer that problem at all as made sure I have plenty of space. Especially with a 32" screen inside you can imagine the deck area is pretty spacious.

I love these games, yet i don't know if it's just my imagination, but my gut tells me they aren't the same on LCD high-res screens. In my child's-eye memory, I remember them all looking that much better. Could be fake memories or nostalgia though.
Don't forget they were all on a low Res CRT that didn't have accurate pixels and colours etc. They will always look better on an old screen than on a sharp new LCD or similar. You can add filters to make it look similar but it's deffo not the same feeling at all

That's because most of the games that came out in the 90s that were the most popular were fighting games. I can't change the past or what were the most popular styles of games that people enjoyed. My personal list would have been way different as I'm not a huge fan of that genre. They may not have been your favourite type of game either as everyone has different tastes in what they like
I didn't pick the top 50 and the list was taken from a highly voted list of games by many thousands of gamers. But totally agree with you, it's a pretty damn good game.
Obviously not in the top 50 lol. This list was taken from games voted on by many thousands of people. Some games that you would have enjoyed may well not be ones people voted for.
Pretty sure the party never ends lol. Maybe in your top 5, wouldn't have been in mine and wasn't in this one either lol. Sorry. I am sure it's someone's top 5 game as well as yours though.
Not a game I've actually heard of but can see it came out in 1991 by data east who made a huge amount of decent games. Maybe it was a region specific game or something as definitely wasn't on any lists I've seen else I'd have played it. One to add to the try it out list for sure though.
Basketball: For America, maybe Canada too: Just an FYI: Basketball was created by a Canadian The very first professional basketball game played was in Toronto, Canada
My faves were.... Pang. Outrun 1 and 2 Chase h.q (dont remember how many came out). E-swat Golden axe Rainbow island Final fight M.e.r.c.s P.o.w Toki Edit: and Bubble bobble and Bomber man :)
Outrun sat in the car was always awesome. Rainbow islands and parasol stars but impossible to choose between. Never played Toki in the arcade. Goldon axe, I sucked at it but did enjoy it a lot
Yeah, dude. Your list, although is solid. It's 75% fighting games that you have absolutely no idea how to play nor use the in game mechanics, to the very least. Kind of makes this list be based on a popularity level, as opposed to each entry's actual merit based on your experiences.
Maybe it's because 75% of the games in that decade that were the most popular were fighting games, and if you've watched the video and seen how utterly unskilful I am at them, then you'd probably assume I never really played many fighting games and I never said I was any good at them either. Thanks for telling the world I suck at fighting games but pretty sure I said that quite a few times in the video lol
I played all the games and captured them and as stated in so many comments, it's taken from the most popular voted list of arcade games from that decade. It really would not be my objective take on games if it was purely my top 50. No one wants to hear how I love every game but then can't play them lol. It's more fun when it's a mixture

I'm sure the actual games could be hacked in some way to add/remove music but there's no way it worth the effort when you can just make Stepmania look like Extreme and use that
Hey jason, did you ever find that cab or any other a1ups uncomfortable to play on due to the screw rubbing your palm on the control deck? and fix?
Not sure who Jason is (maybe another commenter here) but have played in one of the arcade 1up machines and totally get where you're coming from, especially if you have large hands. My self built one doesn't suffer that problem at all as made sure I have plenty of space. Especially with a 32" screen inside you can imagine the deck area is pretty spacious.
bro thanks for the reply but youtube is buggy af I meant to comment this on a totally different video my bad@@SwobblyDoesStuff
Got to love a good bug here and there 😂
Great vid ! But if it’s a top 50 - why did you show that Tetris clone which you did not like ??? It’s most definitely should not be in your top 50 !!
Isn't my personal top 50. Was a list that was voted on by tens of thousands on net users based on their preferences. If it was my top 50 from what I played back in the day, half the games wouldnt be there at all (as never played them in the arcade) and the top 10 would be very different.
Was their any doubt as to which game would take the number 1 spot? The game DOMINATED the 1990s.
Some people in the comments would disagree but you're right, it dominated from the day it came out.
Hey man. Nice list but where is my TOP arcade game ever - Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder?
Wasn't in the top 50. To be honest, I didn't know this game existed so now I'm going to have to find it and play it lol. Thanks for watching and commenting, always appreciated.
@@SwobblyDoesStuff Really do it. And let me know how you like it 😀 This is really my best. We can play it together in 4 with my kids and friend via LAN/VPN in RetroArch. I have some other most favorite games you maybe not list: 1944 The Loop Master, Aero Fighter 2, Art of Fighting 2&3, Blazing Star, Bomb Jack, Cobra Command, Donkey Kong, E-Swat, Galaga, Growl, In the hunt, Karnov, Knights of the Round, Mappy, Michael Jacksons Moonwalker, Mr. Do, Operation Wolf, Raiden Fighters, Shinobi, Shadow Dancer, Sky Soldiers, Streets of Rage 1&2, Surprise Attack, Tank Force, second TMNT 1989, Vendetta, Vigilante, Warriors of Fate, upf.... I should stop 🤪
Ah, I can see many of those would be in my top games of the 80. Take a watch, you might be surprised.
You can add filters to make it look similar but it's deffo not the same feeling at all
I love that you pronounce the number 45...
FOW EEE FIIAAVE
Some numbers were pronounced in totally over the top ways. Trying to find 50 ways of saying a number slightly differently is really hard lol.
Thanks for watching though and hope you enjoy my content 😀
Way too fighting centric IMO.
That's because most of the games that came out in the 90s that were the most popular were fighting games. I can't change the past or what were the most popular styles of games that people enjoyed. My personal list would have been way different as I'm not a huge fan of that genre. They may not have been your favourite type of game either as everyone has different tastes in what they like
Did I miss wrestlefest?? That should definitely be in top 10 never mind top 50
I didn't pick the top 50 and the list was taken from a highly voted list of games by many thousands of gamers. But totally agree with you, it's a pretty damn good game.
Good List but I think Mortal Kombat 2 is too high.Sure for its time it was impressive at looks and sound department but lacks depth!😊
Total agree with you but with the most votes from the list I took this from, it was one of the most popular games in the 90s
Where are Sport arcades , tekham world cup, seibu soccer , virtual stricker , virtual tennis?
Obviously not in the top 50 lol. This list was taken from games voted on by many thousands of people. Some games that you would have enjoyed may well not be ones people voted for.
Late to the party. Just showed up in my feed! Absolutely no way Killer Instinct isn't in the top 5! SHM!
Pretty sure the party never ends lol. Maybe in your top 5, wouldn't have been in mine and wasn't in this one either lol. Sorry. I am sure it's someone's top 5 game as well as yours though.
I am kind of sad not to see Tumble Pop on this list.
Not a game I've actually heard of but can see it came out in 1991 by data east who made a huge amount of decent games. Maybe it was a region specific game or something as definitely wasn't on any lists I've seen else I'd have played it. One to add to the try it out list for sure though.
@@SwobblyDoesStuff You will not be disappointed. I really would like to hear your take on it.
I will give it a go and let you know. Hopefully will get a chance tomorrow.
Basketball: For America, maybe Canada too:
Just an FYI:
Basketball was created by a Canadian
The very first professional basketball game played was in Toronto, Canada
Thank you that, made me chuckle. Not being a sport follower I have no clue where things are popular outside of the UK.
@@SwobblyDoesStuff glad it gave you a laugh, and thanks for the video, gave me a few new games to try I haven't played yet.
My faves were....
Pang.
Outrun 1 and 2
Chase h.q (dont remember how many came out).
E-swat
Golden axe
Rainbow island
Final fight
M.e.r.c.s
P.o.w
Toki
Edit:
and Bubble bobble and Bomber man
:)
Thanks for telling the world I suck at fighting games but pretty sure I said that quite a few times in the video lol
so is it your top 50 or you just did gameplay capture of games from some internet list?
I played all the games and captured them and as stated in so many comments, it's taken from the most popular voted list of arcade games from that decade. It really would not be my objective take on games if it was purely my top 50. No one wants to hear how I love every game but then can't play them lol. It's more fun when it's a mixture
@@SwobblyDoesStuff thanks for the answer! subscribed
@@gnus78 appreciate your comment and that you watched my content. I do try and reply to everyone I can (apart from the bots lol) and so really appreciate the sub 😀
...he sounds like he was beating the crap outta them in his gair-rahj!!!
Wish I knew what you meant as may have come back with a well constructed reply 😂
Seems like the exact *same* game over and over (but w/ different character designs)
The 80s were MUCH better!
Kind of agree, most were fighting games of one type or another. Some were ok, some very weak and a few classics.
Operation wolf thought would’ve been on the list.
Would have been if it didn't come out in 1987 :-p
If you can find it Time Killers is a very fun fighting game.
Not played this on from memory and had to Google it. Does look fun. Will give it a spin 😀
Sega rally sucks now !!! Er no, I suggest playing it in ps2 with a wheel it’s an awesome game. If you your playing with a joystick 🕹️ then your not playing it properly
My opinion is the game sucks now compared to how it used to play when it was cutting edge. Everyone's view is allowed to be different
We will agree to disagree 😅great video keep up the good work 👍🏼
Best grown up youtuber answer ever lol, thanks for watching. Hopefully some games we agree about on my channel, as always more fun to chat about the games we find awesome 😎
I still play Sega Rally several times a year. It still plays like a dream.
No CyberSled?!? I would easily have that in my top 10! 🙄
Will be honest, never heard of that game lol
surprised you dont have turtles in time on the list
Wasn't my top 50 as was taken from the most votes for on a gaming website. Thanks for watching though.
One word one game..shinobi or was that 80s
1987 apparently.
Who voted for primal rage?
Someone who needs a slap to bring them back to reality. It was a god awful game.
When you showed samurai showdown 2 you showed the wrong footage you showed samurai shodown 3
Yes I do believe you're right as a few people have pointed it out to me in the past. Was still a newbie when I made that, errors occur lol
Why we cant hear games music, some games are good ,most games are boring
There are 5 other videos, without my commentary with full game sounds and music, broken down to ten games per vid for someone just like yourself. Take a look on my video list as they will be just before this one.
Beat ‘em ups and fighting games r two different things bro
They are all fighting games but I get where you're coming from.
Brawlers are what I class the side scrolling punch and kick the crap out of enemies. Fighting games I'd personally say are player A Vs CPU or player B. Different people class different things differently.
Street fighter 2
Thanks for watching and commenting 😀
mortal Kombat was EVERYTHING that street fighter wasn't !! .... i almost started playing street fighter when mortal kombat came out .... im glad i waited
Always preferred MK to SF, maybe it was all the gore and it just looked more real!
Your showing the 2nd game, not the epic first game of Joe and Mac at 49. It should be in the top ten imo.
Thanks for spotting that and pointing it out to me. Sadly not much I can do about it after the fact. I checked my games and it seems the one shown is labeled how the first one is. Definitely a pretty good game though. The list and order wasn't defined by me as I would have had so many different ones in the list.
Your list is like 75% fighting games :/ WHat happened to Spy Hunter? Cyberball? TRON, for god's sake?
As with most comments, it's not my list it's one that was voted for by thousands of gamers. I made an extra video with some of the great games that were not in to the top 50
Those games were the 80s which he covers in the video he has done for the 80s. The 90s arcades were probably 75% fighters at least 🤔
No rastan, no Simpson, all fighters even sf2 he didn't like to much at num 1
@@thrjfi5360 Simpsons was released in 1991 and is in my top games of the 90s. As for the other game, not heard of it and no one ever voted that on to the top 50 on any game lists.
This is 90’s arcade games. Not 80’s. Pay attention.
Bot a bad list. Not sure why there are some of the less interesting games like Primal Rage when more fun games like Lost World:Jurassic Park, Arch Rivals and Star Wars Trilogy were oversll more fun and playable. Did you have those?
As I've said in many comments on here, this isn't my list or my favourite games. It was compiled against games from the decade that were voted on by thousands of people. Arch Rivals were in the 80s :-p.
Yes I have them all, I have about 6TB of games from pretty much every console.
You seriously did another list without the name/publisher/year visible at the bottom of the screen?
Turn the subs on, it's all included in there.
No Dig Dug? Fail.
Dig dug was released in to the arcades in the 80s so maybe check out my best of the 80s arcade games. Thanks for watching :-)
@SwobblyDoesStuff Sorry! I'm defensive about Dig Dug! Knee jerk reaction!
Hey its all good, we all have games we are passionate about and that is what helps make gaming (especially classic gaming) something close to our hearts
The American and three dee stuff looks inferior to the Japanese pixel art
Gotta love pixel art
@@SwobblyDoesStuff yup polygons are an infringement on society
BeatEmUps and fighting games are not the same, KOF is a fighting game
Different people in different countries refer to each differently. That I've learned whilst doing this
@@SwobblyDoesStuff I mean i have been in the FGC and traveled a lot for fighting games and they are not interchangeable terms.
@@nellen55 if kof is a fighting game and does have the word fighters in the title. This is what was said to me ages ago. What fighters do is fighting, it's a game featuring fighters, fighting. So, a fighting game. In which you beat up others. So also a beat em up as the game is to beat others up. People say and call things different all over. It's.notnwortg worrying about.
@@SwobblyDoesStuff i said KOF is a fighting game, not a beat-em-up, the video game industry disagrees with you btw Capcom has fighting game collections and beat-em up collections, you will not find a fighting game company that calls a fighting game a beat-em-up
That's not Samurai Shodown 2
Think someone else pointed that out a long time ago, sadly impossible to update or amend.
street fighter 3s is the best of all time, how is shit like "world heroes" over it.
Ask the millions of people who voted the order of the games. Not everyone feels the same I guess
@@SwobblyDoesStuff feels pretty random, sf3s had over 1000 people enter evo this year and is the top game on Fight Cade. it also has the most famous fighting game clip of all time, World Heroes at this moment only has 4 people playing it right now I just looked. i know you did not make the list just saying it's crazy that that happened
What??? No Neo turf masters, NFL blitz, nhl open ice, or bust a move??? This list is dog water.
Personally I'd only rate bust a move out of that list of games. As stated a million times, not my list, one voted on by many thousands of internet users
smash tv was the biz
Gotta love dual stick shooters
