Organising photos is something I dread and the pile of negatives films... I don’t even want to think about it. They are all piled up in a box. Would love to see a video on organising photos. Your videos are like a guide to organising life. Love them.
I just finished this task and it took about a month. It was a little sad and happy taking the trip down memory lane. Definitely wait to buy the albums so you know how many you need. I did not stress about chronological order. We had some in albums that were not acid free so I removed them and put into a different album. I got rid of duplicate photos, bad photos and a lot of unimportant scenery. I also made an envelope with extras to give to family members.
As a 20 year scrapbooker I can tell you that I will never get caught up with all the photos I want to document. I love your idea of organizing into photo albums instead of photo boxes so those photos can be enjoyed right now. I also love your idea of memorabilia albums to keep all those special pieces that simply don't fit anywhere else. Thank you for sharing.

YES! Photo organization is a must! I have my kids' professional photos in albums, but all of my pictures from before marriage and most of the casual pics since then need to be put in albums. I agree that albums are more fun & entertaining than digital. This is also very helpful for when there is a death and you don't have much time to gather photos for the funeral.

When a family member gives me something that TV they've had for a long time or is a memory for me, I give them a small sheet of notepaper for them to write on so they can tell a little story of the piece.
What wonderful ideas, I have plenty of different things being military wife with 3 beautiful active in the community children 😍. I did do scrapbooking for a few years, we moved, my life had a complete change and now pictures have just been sitting for the last 21 years. I have a table in my living room I keep putting off on decluttering, because it involves organizing photos. My mom has been doing her "Swedish death cleaning" (I have no idea why!) and every time she comes over she is bringing family photos with her. I'd love more organizing memorabilia videos!

I like plate hangers rather than frames. I'd hang that apron in the kitchen on a hook. It's so pretty. My mother wore a similar maternity dress when pregnant with me. I have a picture of her in it with my grandma & great grandma which is enough. If I had the dress I'd probably turn it into a pillow and give it to my sister as a pregnancy lumbar pillow for the nursery.

Great ideas especially documenting the sentiment behind the item! A video about how you sorted and organized the photos would be very helpful. I am overwhelmed with it as I have been the depository of old family photos (parents, grandparents and others). I literally have thousands, most in boxes. Every time I attempt to organize them I get so tense I just put them back in the boxes to try again another time. You are the most efficient and organized person so I hope you can provide tips. Yes please! My photos are organized by date. I had them in albums, but what does the person who has twenty books full of images do? I weened it down to a papermill box... amazing just how much room it took up. (No joke, like twenty 300 photos per album all condensed into that one box). I did it for the room. PLUS, I have them all scanned. Mostly, anyhow. I think my next step may be to go through those and only keep the really good ones, IDK... I also have the negatives. Something has to be done, eventually - just not sure what.
