- I got a new Warbonnet Outdoors RidgeRunner Bridge Hammock, Thunderfly Tarp, and Lynx Underquilt! In this video, I enjoy an overnight camp and set up my new gear for a first time. Supplementing the new gear are a new ridgeline, guy lines, and Tarp Tips for my Thunderfly. I also DIYed a new snakeskin for my tarp, new Ultra 200 stuff sacks for my hammock, rainfly, and spreader bars. What worked? What didn't?

Welcome Mrs. Midwest Backpacker!!
Very nice rigging.
you need to test your gear. so good job.
Awesome tips! Good luck on the trip!👍🏻🇺🇸
Buying this hammock tomorrow on the sale. Torn between the Light Ocean Blue and the Dark Foliage Green. Blue looks so nice and it’s covered by an olive colored underquilt from OneWind (although I might use a pad)so I guess lighter color doesn’t matter to much. Thought it might help seeing it in the dark when getting in it. Foliage green goes nicer with the environment and shows less dirt. Hard decisions lol. Any regrets on your color choices?
Almost…what are you using to make more room under the tarp using shock cord and the side pulls? Are those tent poles of some kind? If I recall, you used to use dyneema line attached to your trekking poles. Thanks for going back to gear and hiking tip vids, the last few have been appreciated.
I would also like to know what he used for his pull up bars on the Thunderfly...
Badass setup good bud! Good to see you better half out!
Picking a tarp color is so hard. I'm really digging the ocean blue combo.
As of this vid, what was the approximate weight of the complete system? Thanks!
Great video and reviews. Interesting choice of music.
I too am a Ridgerunner fan. I had a custom tarp made which is very similar to the new one you got. How do you like the new fabric on the hammock? Is it more comfortable?
Honestly, I think both my ridge runners are comfortable. I need to set them up side by side and compare.
Is the dreamtex RR much more comfortable than the previous generation nylon one. Just wondering if it’s worth it for me to switch . With regards to the ridgeline , I had it modified as per Rob’s previous video. Thanks for sharing 😉
It is more comfortable, but I wouldn’t buy a new one just for that. It’s not significantly better.
Do you worry about over compressing the down in the compression sack? I had heard (read & YT videos) advice about damaging the down by compressing it too much. Currently I shove my top & bottom quilt into the bottom of my pack, but I have been tempted to try to make them take less space with a compression sack. My other thought was to put them in a drybag and strap them to the bottom of my pack like others do with a foam pad.
Damage is only if they are stored long term. Less than 48 hours is fine.
No MicGolLight?
