I have heard the older hammered (short cross) was sometimes folded by pilgrims - why I don't know! Best wishes to you.

Some nice silver there. The sixpence coins were 50% silver between 1920 and 1947 (I think). Pre 1920, sterling (0.925). The Maundy was a cracker too.
