American Patriots vs British Redcoats & Hessian Mercenaries : The Battle Of White Plains

  • When the Continental Army retreated from Manhattan they were an exhausted, shellshocked and reeling force. When they left the battle of Harlem Heights just 24 hours later, they locked arms, galavanting back to their positions and cried out in unison “Hoorah!”
When bullets and cannonballs begin to fly, fortunes can change in the blink of an eye, and the spirited victory at Harlem Heights lifted the fate of the patriots and buoyed the fledgling force to press on towards their improbable dream of independence.
With the hardfought summer campaign, and the blossoming metropolis of New York behind them, the army trudged forward weary, bleary and hungry. As the autumn rains fell on their modest encampments, George Washington avoided disaster for the third time in as many months, as General Howe would attempt to turn the Americans flank and annihilate them between his forces in Manhattan and a contingent of troops he attempts to land at Throgs Neck and Pell’s Point.
The incursion is quickly dispatched by the highgrounded Americans, but Washington knows he has little time to evacuate his men before Howe sends an even mightier consortium of British and Hessian servicemen.
Taking the Continental Army north to White Plains, General George Washington positions his men for an inevitable assault. Then on a late October morning that clash would finally materialize, amidst barbarous fighting and the fog of war Washington must not only seek victory, but survival…

General Washington and his fighting Patriots, we are eternally indebted to them for their bravery and true love of our country.
Soldiers and patriots committed to make something better for themselves and for all future generations of Americans.
Thanks to HOKC for keeping their memory alive especially on this auspicious 80th anniversary of D-Day.

It's almost hard to comprehend due to the mediocrity we live in today to fully grasp how amazing, masculine, and heroic our founding fathers were. They were men to the very end.

I've made the comment on how the WW2 generation would look at how soft and whiny their great grandchildren are who have never really experienced anything tough like a great depression or world conflict.

BTW, all modern Americans (really anyone living in a first world country) are soft as all hell compared to the average American living back in these days. It’s a nearly useless comparison.

Also important to note that most of the Founding Fathers were not soldiers like GW.

Your channel has done something impossible. Made me give a dang about George Washington in a light I didn’t think I’d ever have. I’ve heard so much basic about him , so hearing his war stories and thoughts and more on the beginning of America is amazing! Moreeee please !

Nice account, though I find that some of the illustrations used appear to be AI-generated & are quite hilarious & “farby“ (reenactor vernacular for ‘inaccurate’).

Politicians getting in the way of small armies fighting long odds in the name of a heroic cause: a tradition from April 19, 1775 - Feb. 24, 2022. Well, actually a lot longer…just look at Hannibal in Italy being de facto abandoned and betrayed by political opponents in Carthage.

The best thing that could be done to re unite Americans is to tell these stories no longer taught.I can picture what a spectacular film this would make, from the large scale battle scenes ,to the individual interactions.
Instead, we get insults to any and all intelligence with absurd fairy tales about Black lesbian space witches doing what all progressives do, - make mediocrity great, and all things good appear evil.
