I remember being in high school when I first heard "Paradise" and loving the whole "Swings" album. Then in one of the worst times in my life "Butterfly Boy" released and I learned every word to every song. Then "Northend Sweetheart" released last year to put a close to that part of my life. Now this alongside "Rain In Brisbane" I have been here for all the single releases since "Ricochet" and have never regretted it. Love every ounce of soul from these songs and they have always been anthems to some of the most important things in my life. So excited to listen to this album, thanks for the banger man, they really are something else.

Damn near close to my experience with Ryan's songs too, I remember when "Deceived", "Run" and "Murda" came out exactly 1 year after I learned the girl I was with at that time was cheatin and lyin, even tho I was like "damn Ryan.....coulda used this 1 yr earlier lol" it still didnt change the fact it helped me get over her (she really messed me up mentally....to put it lightly) and just like you said, when Northend Sweetheart came out, It closed thag chapter, Ryan's music helps so much cause It is so damn relatable, and just that alone can heal you a bit, I will always resignate with "Ghost" and "Corner of the World"...exactly how I felt in school and growin up, "At Least I Tried" will always be my favorite Alblum

From what I take from this is, the upstairs is the brain, and the stairs lead down to reality , maybe the heart.. he tries to go down but it brought right back up.. then maybe every window is a different memory, past trauma.. finally ending on a makeshift ladder to escape his mind in a final attempt to get over trauma… I relate so much to the words, the beats, and the videos
That’s a great take on everything. It’s a beautiful song. This is how I took it. The room is his head. Him at the desk writing down all of his feelings and emotions as a child. He can’t come to grips with even standing up until he has faced his feelings. The light shining in is hope. Notice how it never gets dark even when he goes downstairs / his darkest, lowest moments. The windows allow him to look at life from afar, but keeps him trapped in the room (his mind). He keeps looking out of different windows in hopes that he can understand the outside world, and why things have happened to him. Him sitting down with the broken ladder represents him taking a rest, possibly giving up. The broken rungs on the ladder represent his failed attempts at escaping the room (his reality/ emotions). There will never be a time where he can escape his pain, but again, even when he has given up, the light (hope) still shines through.

i don't think people are noticing that the entire last verse is full of end rhyme schemes along with condensed internal rhymes on almost every single bar, while still able to keep the vibe of the song and portray the same emotions, just with high level technical writing ability and rhyme schemes, it's extremely impressive from a writer's perspective
