In one of their videos, I remember Larry making a point about oil lamps at sea - always install chimney shields attached to the lamp instead of attached to the boat. Easy enough to fab a bracket, but you want the shield to swivel with the gimble to best protect your boat from the heat and soot of the chimney
That shot of the ship cutting through the mist is unreal… might be worth selling as a print? Love your vids… a unique and perfect blend of artistry, boat work and daily life ❤️
What is that music that was playing when you did the oil lamps? It really suits your boat and your pioneering spirit. Love the channel and the craic..👋🏻
Fantastic work! I am still just starting with Seven Bells out here in the Chesapeake. Man, I miss the PNW. I think I'd go hit Bellingham in a heartbeat if we could
16:50 WARNING, WARNING, FIRE HAZARD. These Alladin style lamp put out an enormous amount of heat (forced draft style), Even with the little cap properly on it will burn your roof sooner than latter ,Please put a piece of serious fire insulation on top.(fiber board, folded glass mat etc) PS: This is not I think, this is I know. Had one very similar.
Appreciate the concern my friend. I put a fire retardant pad under it, may or may not be the Oldschool bad for your health kind that starts with ass and ends with pestos. ;). Fully blocked and I monitor the heat regularly. The block of wood gets warm but not hot.

A snowy day, nice warm fire, a loved woman, good friends, the literal paradise of coastal BC... I love my life living on my boat here. So grateful!
So good. Where are you at? Cheers!
@SailorBarry currently in Cadboro Bay. I will head out to cruise the South Islands after some repairs.
I love it when your team the"coast busters'gets on a job. It’s quite interesting. Knocking out another boat stay up.!
Where is Evan ? Had many great times on Perihelion!!! Saw your first voyage from rowing club to the river.

Lovely video, music selection so soothing, love the wee jobs to make it home. Fair winds and a good rum!
Many thanks! 🍻
Great to see the old Formosa again. What are the plans for her?

Loving the oil lamps👌🏴☠️⛵️
Good episode, great music, except for the outro. Thanks for posting.
Dude, thunder child is lookin nice. I like those gimbaled kerosene lamps.
We need lamps like yours!
Highly recommend
@@SailorBarry don hang that lamp to close to the roof/deck. You will get a black burn mark on the wood, lots of heat comes out of that glass
Great video guys.
Thanks so much!
🤘!!!
Hell yeah brother!
