I’m pretty sure most black folks know what Achara means. Tyler Perry showcases elite black talent and gives them a platform that doesn’t really exist anywhere else on a big level. 1:12:59 Yes Achara Most of us love the plays over the movies The movies are good but the plays are golden and being people that seen the plays first and then the movies we still like the movies but they don't do the plays justice and the stories change to fit for movies
This is why I love this channel. I've haven't come across many channels that handle cultural conversations as thoughtful and respectful as you guys, and it's a joy to be a part of the conversations.
Acharra I feel the same way you do. When I see an all Asian cast just being and not being typecast and not asian. Sometimes the depiction that we see of other races that arent white are only narrowed to stereotypes that a lot of people from that culture dont relate to. I appreciate what you said.
The comment on black excellence is felt and LOVED. So glad you guys were able to react to this as it is one of my favs. As you can see in the comments, the plays are the foundation and they are better than the movies. And I will be here when you react to them :)

Madeas Big Happy Family and Tyler Perry's the Marriage counselor are one of my FAVORITE plays. The story doesnt feel as wild as all the others and the music is BEAUTIFUL ✨️
I don’t know if anyone ever mentioned this but the actress that plays Hattie Mae is only 56 years old. This play is 13 years old , so she was only 42-43 at the time
@ yeah like Bamm. I’ve seen her since House of Payne started in 2006 and I thought Aunt Ella and Uncle Curtis were the ages they are now during that time. They’re only 60 and 58. But yeah I only mentioned Hattie because they were commenting on how well she was able to move 😂
I love this Channel, everyone who reacts is so pure and genuine and saying black is not a problem, you mean well and we love it, keep reacting to these with jabby and Micheal
Yes Achara is lovely & insightful. I see she had to explain some things to Jabby. I do wish Michael could have seen/ reacted to this play. I would have liked to have seen Michael be surprised by the difference between the play & movie like Jabby. Jabby was surprised that Hattie could sing & how truly youthful Hattie looks. I would have liked to see Michael' s reaction😊
Ok I actually like the plays, and yes Black American and Asian families have SO many similarities in culture speaking from someone with East Asian friends, it was shocking in a good way lol. I like the Tyler Perry Tuesdays and love your channel. 🥰

Guys, I LOVED THIS! 50 year old Black man here, Achara - I know what you and Jaby meant. Just about every race and culture has their own niche within film and theater arts, and some are not only EXEMPLARS of the culture being represented, but they do it at the HIGHEST level of the art as well. There is a difference… and to find both is a gift. Cultural Excellence deserves heartfelt, genuine appreciation like this - no matter how it’s offered - even in the face of those that fear such rarities (not aimed at you Jaby). Cultural appreciation should NOT require prior permission from those outside it. This was a real treat! Thanks Jaby!
Literally nobody reacts to the Tyler Perry plays. I’m very impression yall done up the reactions 😂 this is everyone’s fav part of history of Tyler Perry and that’s the plays! What a lovely Christmas gift! Yall def gotta react to madea family reunion the play
Yes!!! Please watch the plays!!! Especially the early ones like I Can Do Bad, Diary and Family Reunion. There’s also Class Reunion and Madea Goes to Jail, Meet The Browns, Why Did I Get Married, The Marriage Counselor, Big Happy Family and What’s Done In The Dark
@cinepals the actress who’s voice you liked should sound familiar. Cheryl Pepsi Riley was the singing voice for Taraji P. Henson’s character in I Can Do Bad All By Myself. And the mother is Shondra. She’s typically the lead in all of the plays and the jazz club that Orlando and Helen go to in Diary of a Mad Woman is called “Shondra’s”. She’s the owner and the singer on stage in the movie
Correct. “Margaret” is played by Cheryl Pepsii Riley, who was also the singer in the Gala at the beginning of the Diary of a Mad Black Woman and she was also the singing voice of “Brian’s wife” in the church scene of Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
Mary, Did You Know? is the song. Alot of artists has done renditions of it. Everyone in this play had singing careers in the past and present. The actor who played Japan passed away in 2022.
The plays are a whoooolllleee other beast! Y'all are in it now. You gotta watch all the plays everyone recommended! Almost all the TP movies you watched were based off a play first
Achara girl we hear you and we get it and yes it is!!! So many movies yall have watched are staples in the Black home and seeing y'all appreciate them is everything.
OMG~!!!! YES! Thank you so much Jaby and Achara! The plays are incredible! Well, I love them. Lol. RIP Zuri Craig(Japan). Such a talented soul. Y'all posted this 5 hours ago? I was sound asleep! Lol. I appreciate the play so much. My heart is so warm. Hopefully you all do more. :) Aslo, the bowing was improv. Lol. Japan started bowing, Bam went along with it, Tyler was confused but went along. Lol. Tony Grant(Eric) is also apart of the current Temptations. :) Achara - you said nothing wrong. :) We got it right away! Mary Did You Know Is on my ipod. Something about them harmonizing together, does a number on my soul each time. It was butter!
One thing about the plays, EVERYONE can sang. I can’t wait for y’all to do “I can do bad all by myself” and “Madea family reunion” plays… hilarious and some amazing life lessons in all of them.
The plays are so much better than the movies. That’s when you get the Sermons!! This is how we fell in love with him. His crowd work is immaculate, he had to be a comedian in last life.
I never would've expected for you guys to react to the plays - the musical numbers can be a bit draining but the message behind each play was well done!
1:14:54 SPOT ON. As a brother, I feel exactly what you mean. It was hard for me to connect with my culture back in the day even me being black, BUT for some reason, watching Tyler Perry Movies was literally the best because I felt the energy of the black community in a good way! I felt soul in a way that was different.
I think Jaby might’ve never heard of the term “black excellence” and thought Achara just called it that which might be why he laughed because honestly that would be pretty funny to just hear. I may be wrong though.
Now we’re doing plays? Oh this is my entire life right here! You guys have a lot of material to work with. The plays are 1000x better than the movies!!
Wow, what a treat!! Thank you for this!! Early Tyler Perry in his purity and integrity. Achara - thank you for your comments. You did not say anything offensive; thank you for uplifting the artistic quality of this production, and the Black community, which is, of course, not monolithic, but your point was crystal clear, and appreciated. Run-on sentence concluded now, haha. Bless up, everyone! 🌺🌺🌺
Growing up, Tyler Perry plays were GOLDEN!! 🤩 His plays were what blew up his name. There’s always drama, lessons to be learned and AMAZING vocals ❤️ I hope y’all do more
It brings me so much joy watching yall enjoy media that is such a staple in Black homes. Support of Tyler Perry's plays is what allowed him the resources to do his movies and what skyrocketed him to the successful man he is today! It is like Achara said, it is Black Excellence on full display! Thank yall!
At 1:14:51 I think what you said is fine and understandable and what you said is like the main reason why people live and still support even though some newer things are questions is because of that ex for a lot of upcoming and established black actors and crew he is the first to pay them what the are actually worth and not based on low quotas from their other work
@CINEPALS I SPEAK FOR THE ENTIRE BLACK COMMUNITY YOU GUYS ARE DOING GREAT I HONESTLY HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OTHER REACTION CHANNEL DEEP DIVING INTO OUR CULTURES CINEMA AS YOU GUYS HAVE …🙏🏾 MUCH APPRECIATED CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE ..LUV 😎
I 💕 this reaction. Jabby'' s laugh. Achara is lovely educating J about yack I didn't know the character was talking about cognac either 😂. I understood what Achara was saying when she said Black Excellence. I hadn't watched a TP play since the early 2000' s & watching this reminded me of what we love about Tyler Perry. I also enjoy the TP exchange with the audience afterwards. That family that came all the way from NY to Atlanta to see that play on a Greyhound 🤯. You see Jabby that kind of fan dedication is what made it possible for Tyler to jump from plays to movies. Tyler Perry dedicated to his fans too you see he wanted to pay for them to go home on a plane. I would have taken him up on that offer 🧐 I remember when the 1st TP movie came out Hollywood was like " where did this Tyler Perry come from ? How is this movie so successful? Movies were successful because Tyler had been building his fan base for years. Now that you gave us 1 play I hope you react to the play of the 1st Tyler Perry movie you reacted to. Diary Of A Mad Black Woman. I would like for Michael to be able to compare a movie y' all watched together to the original play. You started this Tyler Perry journey together & I am here for more in 2025 😊
Achara's comment about black excellence was completely fine & well-explained. This reaction to Tyler Perry reminded me how funny these movies/plays were. Not a big fan of Tyler but he knows talented people & how to showcase them
Omg!!! The way I just screamed!!! I never thought y'all would watch the plays. This play is actually where we first are introduced to Hattie's character before she obviously transitions to the movies that she was in

Not mad at black excellence I got what you meant and I appreciate it!
Yall have literally made my 2024! A play????? Chefs KISS!!!!!
His crowd work is immaculate, he had to be a comedian in last life.
tyler perry plays have arguably some of the most talented singers ever
I had to reread the title 😂😂 LOOVVEEE that we are starting to throw the plays in the mix. Def do “class reunion” next 😂😂😂
Same girl I was like “didn’t I just watch them react to the Madea Christmas Movie?”
Then I saw PLAY big and bold 😂
@ BOLD 😂 But i’m here for it ! They are going to love them
RIP Zuri Craig😢 we will always miss you. You are a great part of these Tyler Perry plays
I never would've expected for you guys to react to the plays - the musical numbers can be a bit draining but the message behind each play was well done!
The musical numbers is part of what makes them great and the talent of these vocalist is out of this world ❤
@@kelenaffqnklin Very true, for me however it tends to take me out of it, or out of the story a lot.
@@kelenaffqnklin Perfectly said. The music adds magic. It’s my favorite aspect of the plays. Wonderfully executed and aids in the dialogue.

SPOT ON.
Nah he’s definitely heard the term before
Yasss achara no offense taken!! You recognize BLACK EXCELLENCE!!!! Thank you for your appreciation
Now we’re doing plays? Oh this is my entire life right here! You guys have a lot of material to work with. The plays are 1000x better than the movies!!
Tyler Perry plays were known for bringing the talent! You had to be top notch. Y’all have to watch more of them
Yes you will love all of Tyler Perry's plays
Wow, what a treat!! Thank you for this!! Early Tyler Perry in his purity and integrity. Achara - thank you for your comments. You did not say anything offensive; thank you for uplifting the artistic quality of this production, and the Black community, which is, of course, not monolithic, but your point was crystal clear, and appreciated. Run-on sentence concluded now, haha. Bless up, everyone! 🌺🌺🌺
one of my favorite thing about the plays is seeing them break character
Growing up, Tyler Perry plays were GOLDEN!! 🤩 His plays were what blew up his name. There’s always drama, lessons to be learned and AMAZING vocals ❤️ I hope y’all do more
Nobody ever reacts to the plays thank yall soooo much for watching them. I can’t wait to see yall watch the rest of them!!!!
It brings me so much joy watching yall enjoy media that is such a staple in Black homes. Support of Tyler Perry's plays is what allowed him the resources to do his movies and what skyrocketed him to the successful man he is today! It is like Achara said, it is Black Excellence on full display! Thank yall!
At 1:14:51 I think what you said is fine and understandable and what you said is like the main reason why people live and still support even though some newer things are questions is because of that ex for a lot of upcoming and established black actors and crew he is the first to pay them what the are actually worth and not based on low quotas from their other work
It was indeed a show of black excellence. Every single person stage was so talented. Why did this guy laugh?
@CINEPALS I SPEAK FOR THE ENTIRE BLACK COMMUNITY YOU GUYS ARE DOING GREAT I HONESTLY HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OTHER REACTION CHANNEL DEEP DIVING INTO OUR CULTURES CINEMA AS YOU GUYS HAVE …🙏🏾 MUCH APPRECIATED CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE ..LUV 😎
The plays are even better.
Not a big fan of Tyler but he knows talented people & how to showcase them
Sooo happy y'all doing plays now. The music and singing and acting !!? Mann smh 👏🏽👏🏽
Madea’s Class reunion was hilarious!! Madea Goes to Jail and class reunion was my favorites
My FAVORITE madea play. I watch this almost every Christmas
I loved attending Tyler’s plays when I lived in Atlanta. They’re so good.
Please continue with the plays 😂 I grew up on them I think they're better than the movies ❤
Not y’all reacting to the plays! Such a surprise, I’m here for it! Thanks yall
I love that y’all are gagged that Hattie can sing haha. Her best song hands down is in madea gets a job
She also does pretty well in Hell Hath No Fury…
Omg!!! The way I just screamed!!! I never thought y'all would watch the plays. This play is actually where we first are introduced to Hattie's character before she obviously transitions to the movies that she was in
Ive been in these comments about the plays for a while. I did not think y’all would do it,but it’s a Christmas/new year miracle 😂😂😂 love this thanks guys 🙏🏾
My prayers have been answered please do all the plays pleaseeeee😩😩😩😊😊😊 happy new years and merry Christmas to meee
