I agree! I've listened to Disturbed's version of the sound of silence when he first came out with his way of singing and I was blown away. But, now coming across Dan's cover of this song, I love his interpretation more. To me, his voice is much sexier.

Dan is the best!!! But I am confused as to why I don't hear his accent when he sings, when others say they can hear it. I live in Missouri USA. I should be able to detect an accent, even when someone sings but I can't. I have only heard it in some of his really early music and once in American Trilogy when he sings "leeve" instead of live. I love this version and Geoff Castellucci's versions because they are very different but equally stunning. Dan has the same anger that Disturbed does, Geoff's version is more sombre melancholy

This is a great cover of Disturbed’s version, and I absolutely love Dan Vasc, but the Disturbed version is much darker. David Draiman really brought the emotion. Dan’s cover is great but David Draiman’s is amazing.

I love listening to the older one and the newer one, seeing how much he's improved, even though he's always been good. Keep exploring his channel! He's amazing!
Dan has such control of his voice and his breathing and such a strong voice. Everything he sings he puts his own spin on it and I could listen and do listen to him over and over.
David's voice starts to have his rasp at certain high notes that I feel Dan's voice sounds more crisp. idk.... just what I felt. I've listened to Disturbed for so long. I love both of the covers. It would be cool to see Dan do a couple shows with Disturbed. Would be crazy! Dan even thows in a shout out to David at 4:37.... Dan matches Davids distorted note. Simply awesome.

Love Dan Vasc. One of the first vocalists I discovered many years ago when I started watching TH-cam. For years I only watched music videos. Legendary artists, new artists and the unknown artists. What I discovered was there were gifted people across the globe that had more talent in one finger than many that are making millions of dollars in the industry. Dan is one of them. One of my favorites of his is "Bring Me To Life" Cover [MALE VERSION] - EVANESCENCE. It's a great cover of the Evanescence song by female "metal" vocalist Amy Lee. Check her out too. Her live concert Evanescence - Bring Me To Life by Evanescence is better than the original video.
Just a quick comment...I had to go open up the actual video to check, because I didn't think I had seen any delays in the audio-visual sync when I watched it (about 50 times) before. Just so people who have NOT watched the actual video yet, don't expect the visual and audio to be out of sync in it, as they are here. I don't know if you've done that on purpose or not, but to me, it's really detracting. Other than that, I totally agree with your whole evaluation. 😀

I've not heard this cover: but i have heard Disturbed version. Tho similar, this guy sang stronger and tougher for a longer part of the song where it felt appropriate.

I don't think that Dan could have interpreted this song differently from Disturbed's. David Draiman and Dan are both heavy metal singers, so unless Dan completely had rearranged the way the song should be performed with his metal rendition, they would always sound the same.
