    So in quick answer to the question - YES! It is healthier to drink decaf if you're looking to cut down on caffeine. You may get 'some' caffeine in decaf but tons less than normal coffee. The calories from milk and cream is a completely separate issue.

      They said it's not healthier. I think it's because unless you overdo it or have some sort of underlying health condition, caffeine isn't that bad for you. So removing it doesn't make a difference. Drink decaf if you don't want to take a stimulant.

    • @zaixai9441
      @zaixai9441 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He said that after the process of caffeine removal is finished, the traces of the toxic chemical are so low it's insignificant and well below the EU's maximum allowed level. He then said there are non-chemical versions that use Co2 and charcoal but "there is no evidence they are any healthier" So, yes, he did answer the question, you just aren't good at listening.
      The answer is, it isn't any healthier.

You know what's also wierd, during the time I wrote this comment, palpitations were non stop. Went to the GP, tried eating less fatty foods, no caffeine, tried to stress less etc, nothing worked. I then realised a year after that at one point I had exercised (cardio) for a month straight and lost about 10kg. I started to eat normal and wanted to get back to 90kg from 80 because I looked skinny. Guess what, palpitations stopped. Everytime I lose weight to meet the bmi, they come back which is wierd

    I disagree that people switch to decaf because they think it's healthier. It's more often because they want to limit their caffeine intake to stop it impacting their sleep. I drink caff before 4pm and decaf afterwards.

      @BobbyG I'll typically go to sleep around midnight and average about 8 hours sleep. Switching to not intaking significant quantities of caffeine after mid-afternoon is working for me. When I used to continue with caffeine right up to bedtime, I'd find myself still being awake at 1 or 2am.

    I have generalized anxiety and coffee amplifies it 10x.
    Also, as long as you don't have a dependence, you do NOT need the ~100mg of caffeine in a cup of coffee to enjoy its effects. It only takes like 20mg, tops.

      @@basicbodybuilding There are also other chemical compounds in coffee such as Theophylline which:
      The main actions of theophylline involve:
      relaxing bronchial smooth muscle

      increasing heart rate (positive chronotropic)[4]

P&G Decafs use Ethyl Acetate which seems to come out less bitter than the Methylene Chloride which is used to purify hops for Beer BTW!

      True. Non-alcohol beer mostly tastes like it's been made from a concentrate of disappointment by people without taste buds. But I have found two local non-alcoholic beers that land pretty damn close to the taste of real craft beers - like with similar bitterness and texture which is amazing.So there is hope for those who can't consume alcohol.
