Russia 'Identifying Guilty' After Azeri Fury Over AZAL Crash, Kazakhstan Sends Black Boxes to Brazil

- Azerbaijan accused Russia of downing an Azerbaijan Airlines jet, resulting in 38 fatalities. Baku claimed the AZAL Embraer 190, carrying 67 passengers, was mistakenly targeted by Russian air defences on 25 December. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev demanded Moscow admit responsibility, punish those guilty and compensate victims. Russia apologised for the incident, but disagreements remain about whether a missile was involved. Survivors reported explosions outside the plane, which crash-landed in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijani sources suggested a Russian Pantsir-S1 system was responsible, while early investigations found missile-like damage to the plane's tail. Kazakhstan has sent the flight recorders to Brazil’s CENIPA for decoding due to its expertise.

The Russian air defense forces are the undisputed champions when it comes to killing innocent airline passengers but somehow it is always someone else’s fault.

Kadyrov doesn't control the Pantsir System lol. Russian Ground Forces Command Post is solely responsible for this type of air defense system. At the time of the attack Grozny was under attack. Russia should have advised civil operated aircrafts to reroute or cancel flights this is unfortunate. Similar incident also happened in Iran several years back.
