You can tell the pilot lifted it up right before it hit the ground. He was trying to set it on its belly, but was tilted too much to the right prayers to everyone involved. Pilots fought with everything they had to save who they could!!
No, they had no tail authority from the bullet holes. That was simply the inherent stability of some planes, as it stalls, nose goes down, as it picks up speed, nose climbs, it repeats that over and over, unfortunately the timing of the nose up wasn't quite when they hit the ground, otherwise may have been able to land it. Not the pilot's fault though, just where the next raise came, just a tad too early.
I can’t imagine the fear of these ppl on this flight. I’m so sorry they had to go through this horrible experience. Rest in peace to those who lost their lives.

When any plane gets damaged due to a flock of birds as they claim that is what caused it, then any aircraft should glide smoothly and the last moment doesn't show the smooth glide rather a dive I think pilot error caused for many loss Let's hope the pilot was doing his best.
Doesn't look like they did their best. You can see in one of the videos that the plane dove and then the pilots tried to climb again, which means they had time to understand that the plane should not be in the air. They should have tried tan emergency landing (or at least performed a decent, which would have decreased the damage from the crash) when they had a period of control over the plane, but instead they tried to climb and continue the flight.

Umm survivors are probably in shock still, seeing dead people and having to realize they were in a plane crash😢😢.they will definitely never forget this.
That pilot is a hero, he did everything in his power to keep plane as stable as possible. He almost pulled it of to do the impossible. He couldn't save them all but his incredible skills saved many life's. Exactly 48 years ago my moms little brother lost his life in Bangkok, because the pilot made a mistake en thought the lights coming from an industrial building was from the airport, wich was located on the other side of the mountain. Dec 25 1976 egyptair. To all who lost their lives in Kazachstan. Rest in peace. To their family's my deepest condolences. To those who survived I wish them strength and healing. What a tragedy 😢
This plane looks like it was hit by something that caused shrapnel. Whatever that hit the tail section, must have damage the hydraulic system for the elevator. Engine seem fine but the plane kept stalling and falling. In the end. The elevator must have locked up. Losing control of pitch.
My thinking too. I suspect the pilots were using power to attempt control of pitch but that pitch up was too strong, losing airspeed and the rhythmic stalls that followed. I wonder if they also lost some rudder, as even if the ailerons were ineffective the pilots would have attempted to correct roll with rudder. Possibly all hydraulics out? Differential thrust would have been their only recourse. Wasn’t the Idaho incident like this? Something took that plane out… masks deployed… poor souls, may they find peace.
Frame 2:33 shows the tailplane with the elevators flat. The top outer surface of the right horizontal stabilizer appears to have a protruding lump which could be an exit hole of a bullet. This is unlikely to have been caused by the crash because the right horizontal stabilizer remains straight and without other damage. On frame 2:52 you can actually see the bullet hole and where the hydraulic fluid has leaked out.

@@sforza209 It was obvious that the pilots could not control the decent, lost ability to do so and it looks like when they knew it was hopeless they at the last seconds crashed so that the front of the plane had the worst impact, sometimes the planes break apart and sections are flung away from the explosion and fires. That is what it looked like to me, RIP brave pilots.
Those pilots did all they could. Hero’s landed that plane and as a result people survived. So sad for those that didn’t survive and their family’s . Christmas will never be the same for them.
These pilots were amazing!! The way they glided that craft down to a lower altitude the way they did saved lives! I see a lot of comments about the “erratic” flying… that is a very controlled glide down. If they had not done this, then that plane would have crashed straight down and no one would have lived. And to the people saying parachutes… really?!? Im guessing you are not very knowledgeable about commercial aviation… there is no way to carry that many parachutes on those planes, and the loss of pressure from attempting to open the doors would suck people out of the craft and quite possibly right into the engines. Not to mention the fuel burn off from them at the rear. Even if they could have jumped, the pilot trying to navigate that controlled glide to a safe altitude and keep it from dropping out of the sky would have been near impossible. Plus the standing passengers would have been tossed around.
I think the person meant that if they had parachutes, the passengers with them on would be standing up getting ready to jump when the door was opened, so yes, the blast would knock them over. Even on a comparatively much slower plane, a Cessna 182, the air blast from the door is very strong, so to actually jump out of the plane a person needs to push very hard against the blast of the air. That blast tends to push you back into the plane, unless you use your entire body's force against it, all at once. That effect would be so much worse on a big jet! I doubt many people would be able to jump out at all, and of those who do, how many would make it safely to the ground? It isn't as simple as just getting out the door.
Video from the crash site shows the tail surface full of shrapnel holes. The metal around the holes is pushed inward, indicating an explosion outside the aircraft. It was hit by an anti-aircraft missile while in Russian airspace.
In other videos and photos there is extensive shrapnel damage to the body and control surfaces of the airplane, damaging cables, hydraulics, and electronics and puncturing the pressure compartment depressurizing the cabin. This airplane was obviously hit with a missile or airburst of flack causing extensive damage. The pilots were obviously fighting to control the aircraft, and get it on the ground. That anyone survived is due to their skill. Prayers for the victims and their families as well as those who survived this terrifying crash. Anyone attacking a civilian aircraft has committed a terrorist act and should be held responsible!

Yes a bird strike can cause damage like that if the internal workings of the engine are damaged enough to blow out the back of the engine. Not saying that was the case here. The damage looks to be too minor to have been a missile strike. At this point you can’t really say without a real investigation. The one thing that is strange is that the plane seemed to be flying without any issues and the passengers were extremely calm. There was no smoke coming from the left side engine and only very slight damage to the back of the mount for the engine nacelle. It appeared that both engines were functioning ok, which would rule out a birds trick. The plane looked as if it had lost the hydraulics and the pilots were using the engines to turn and control the altitude of the plane. Notice the plane gaining altitude then going nose down and losing altitude several times. By increasing the engines power, you can change altitude when you have no flight controls. You can also vary the engine power from right and left to turn the plane. It isn’t easy, or very precise, but it can be done.
@ not a bird strike at all, birds would of hit the front of that plane, there is no way possible for a bird to hit that part of the plane and even if a bird did hit it which it didn’t the birds would not have made that hole,
@@TheCrazyMoparDude68The engines are on the wings. The damage on the tail is clearly done by something hitting it at 90 degrees. Engine couldn't do that.

Interesting to note the burning wreckage ( the nose ?? is way off in the distance) , but the tail seems to have broken off , and slid quite a way, saving many passengers??. Once again, it seems the tail is the strongest , most surviveable location in a plane crash... :( :(
Worse than the worst nightmare scenario, a truly horrific event, the final minutes of someone in that situation must be an absolutely terrifying experience.
Not necessarily. Im a bus driver and in 2015 a passenger attempted to attack me with a hammer while behind the wheel at like 3 in the morning. One person jumped up to help me and pushed the man down the stairwell. Im telling this story because since I stayed calm as the driver and I didnt yell or swerve...half the bus didnt even know what happened. But had the man hit me and wrecked the bus, I was calm as a cucumber. So my family would have been imagining how scary it was when I was at perfect peace in that moment.
It would be great if we could get hold of this entire video taken inside the plane? It would be reasonable to assume that the person recording the video was also explaining what happened!

Ah so, does that mean loss of hydraulic pressure?
@ricardioscarbonara102 yes, photographs and videos of the tail after the crash shows tell tale signs of shrapnel perforation akin to anti air missiles, which would have shredded all 3 hydraulic systems in the tail area.

Those pilots are heroes for saving so many....

Those pilots did a hell of a job bringing that plane around for the approach. Just like the Dallas, US crash where they came in with no steering or flaps, using nothing more than the two surviving engines. Insane skill only to succumb to the earth at the very end.

Exactly!
11 degrees is the tilt factor
Any higher and risk of fuselage breaking in half

When any plane gets damaged due to a flock of birds as they claim that is what caused it, then any aircraft should glide smoothly and the last moment doesn't show the smooth glide rather a dive I think pilot error caused for many loss
Let's hope the pilot was doing his best.
@@psannu The dive was exactly what you do in a stall which you can see earlier in the flight.
@psannu Thanks God you are not a pilot 🙏 😉
Doesn't look like they did their best. You can see in one of the videos that the plane dove and then the pilots tried to climb again, which means they had time to understand that the plane should not be in the air. They should have tried tan emergency landing (or at least performed a decent, which would have decreased the damage from the crash) when they had a period of control over the plane, but instead they tried to climb and continue the flight.
Why did Russia try to shoot down the plane? The damage to the rear and tail of the airplane looks like anti air missile damage.

This plane looks like it was hit by something that caused shrapnel. Whatever that hit the tail section, must have damage the hydraulic system for the elevator. Engine seem fine but the plane kept stalling and falling. In the end. The elevator must have locked up. Losing control of pitch.
Sim foi a defesa antiaérea da russia .esses bastardos .

RIP Innocent Passengers. May their family and friends find peace some how.
Plus the standing passengers would have been tossed around.
sounds like just an excuse to me.
Thank you! Very informative.
@@metalsteel5631excuse for what ?
Standing passengers on an aircraft?
This plane was probably shot during it's flight. Sorry for all lost souls onboard.
Video from the crash site shows the tail surface full of shrapnel holes. The metal around the holes is pushed inward, indicating an explosion outside the aircraft. It was hit by an anti-aircraft missile while in Russian airspace.
Yes possible
It looks as though it was hit or damaged by a missile. Now who would be likely to shoot down an airliner heading for Grozny?
@ConradAinger Last time Russia did it...

That’s not a bird strike like they said because birds couldn’t mess up the back part like that even if birdsdid hit it
No feathers no blood no mess
@@bayrischkraut7491 well, you simply don't know if there is blood or feathers

With limited function of the plane, pilots knew the odds and made the impossible to straighten that plane before impact with engine thrust. It’s just unbelievable someone survived
Pilots are heroes, they saved someone life, they fought for this, but we have to remember that pilots are not immortal, and they are allways on their plane, in first line...so...they fight also for their lives...
Looks like the plane was oscillating first diving, then climbing as the pilots were desperately trying to maintain control. Despite the unfortunate deaths, the crew did a fantastic job to save the passengers in the rear of the plane.
Tail controls not working, so using differential thrust from engines to try to stear at same time keeping up enough airspeed to keep flying. But as it slowed down near the ground one wing stalked and it rolled down.
