    Thanks for the content! For the record, Mohamed Elyounoussi was born in Morocco but his family emigrated to Norway when he was a child, he grew up in Sarpsborg, and he plays for Norway. So he doesn't fit the pattern of young African players coming to Europe to play football, he was a local lad.

    I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored.

      Last season, when Everton still had James Rodriguez, there was a being the scenes video at the club, and one of the questions was "who's the most skilful player" and Iwobi was by far the most common answer.
      So he's got the skills. I assume he just hasn't the brain.

    Interestingly enough, Hódmezővásárhely
    translates to Beavers' Field Marketplace in Hungarian. Quite the town name if you asked me

    • @MiklosHajma
      @MiklosHajma 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, almost - hód means beaver, mező means field, vásárhely is more like a place when you can held a fair or market (vásár is a fair, hely means place). Fair as in a large, open area one. Not really used in contemporary Hungarian though. It's a funny name, even from a Hungarian point of view :)

    The middle part in the logo of both clubs from Bayern is just the flag of Bayern, the German state. To call this copying from one another goes a bit to far for me, since both clubs' logo design was: state that you are from Bavaria, put the flag of Bavaria in the middle and make a circular crest.
    It is just extremely hard to end up significantly more different than both clubs did.

    • @unstoppableExodia
      @unstoppableExodia 2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      As much as Alfie may have neglected to mention that the blue and white check is the flag of Bavaria he did show Bayern Munich’s previous club crests and demonstrate that Bayern Munich adopted that particular design after the other club had already been using it.

    • @bentn13
      @bentn13 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The shape of the badge is way too similar, if you look at any other football badge they really don't need to have the flag in it. If the flag were the only similarity it would be one thing, but it's not.

      @@Outwhere those are facts though. Are they supposed to skip them in their ranking just because they don't like them. I hardly doubt so.
      I don't think that they have a problem with Munich, but you can't say for sure that they stole the badge. Bavarians are very proud of there flag, plus there are numerous Bavarian football teams that go by the name Bayern ...

    The best part is, that FC Bayern Alzenau is currently playing in the Hessenliga. So even though they are located in Bavaria and are even carrying it in their name, they compete in Hassia.

    Fun Fact to FC Bayern Alzenau: Although they are from Bavaria, they don't play in Bavaria, since they are much closer to Frankfurt, Darmstadt and Mainz than to the rest of Bavaria.

    You didn´t looked very good in Portugal if you just found 2 club crests similar to the big 3 clubs there. The beginning of a lot of clubs in Portugal was as a affiliated club, for example Sporting Braga started as an affiliated club to Sporting Portugal. 20 years ago you if you watched through the leagues you would see at least 2-3 Sporting, Benfica or Porto (this one a bit less then the other 2 and mostly in the north region) copies per leagues.
    And if you look further you would find a lot of clubs outside of Portugal which are Sporting or Benfica inspired created by club supporters with also similar badges.

    Fun fact: Bayern Alzenau do actually do not compete in the bavarian football system/pyramid. Since they are located so far in the North west of bavaria, they chose toa ssociate with the foodball federation of Hesse rather. Mainly because all of the clubs there in the Oberliga or Regionalliga are actually way closer than their counterparts in Bavaria making travel a lot easier historically and also for more intense local rivalries.

    I feel obligated to point out that Santa Clara University is a power in American women’s soccer (football). Among others they have produced Brandi Chastain, who scored the iconic penalty to secure the US victory in the 1999 WWC final. Bayern and Bayern both use the national flag of Bayern (Bavaria) that's why they are the same. The Leverkusen Logo, the Braunschweig Logo and one of the Fortune Düsseldorf logos all contain the Red Lion with four visible claws and a split tail, not because they stole from each other but because all three cities were at one point ruled by descendants of Henry the Lion and Mathilda Plantagenet. They used the English Plantagenet Lion and had it standing up and with a split tail. At least 100 cities in Central Europe have the Lion on the Logo. My hometown Düsseldorf has the Lion holding an anchor because of the Haber on the river Rhine. I once meet a French Guy in Lima and was really irritated that he wore a shirt with the Logo of my hometown, till he told me that it was the Logo of his hometown somewhere close to Strasbourg.

    The Rams, which are owned by the Kroenkes , are going to the Super Bowl. So I think it would be a perfect timing to create a video ranking the most successful non football sports franchise owned by football owners. (Excluding teams like Barcelona basketball or PSG judo)
    My top 5
    1. Boston Red Sox (Liverpool)
    2. LA Rams (Arsenal)
    3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Manchester United)
    4. Denver Nuggets (Arsenal)
    5. Rakuten Golden Eagles (Vissel Kobe)

    I would like to clarify on the Melaka United crest, which Melaka is the name of a tree the founder, Parameswara sat under and rested. Melaka gets it's name after the tree. The crest is redesigned following their promotion in the Super League, the old crest feature the same tree and the Fortress A'Famosa. But plagiarism in design is something we see everyday. Hehe

    4:20 two things I want to mention here:
    1.) The part in the middle of both Bayern club logos are taken from the Bavarian flag, so no, it's not a coincidence that they have it in their logo, it's because this pattern is their state flag!
    2.) Interestinly enough the 1954-1961 logo style is actually stolen - from another historically big club in Bavaria: 1. FC Nürnberg, who had the same logo with very little change since their inception in 1900.

    Wanna see a ripoff logo case? Check the following teams crests/logos: Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (Costa Rica) and Steaua Bucarest (Romania). Steaua's old logo had a lot of resemblances with Alajuelense's logo, until the Romanian team changed their crest a couple years ago.
    I've always wondered why that Romanian team's logo looked oddly similar to my favorite team here where I live, but hey, this could be material for a third video lol

    People say club Brugge looks like espanyol
    Lierse , us givry and Egyption 2nd League side Wadi degla look the same
    You mentioned Union sg on your channel .. Anderlecht stole their logo to at one point and if you take away everything except the crown and circles in the Anderlecht logo , well .. 😂😂
