I've been thinking a lot about what this song actually means, and I think I have an interpretation of it now. It's about drugs, or more specifically that wicked sorta hangover that you'd probably experience after having done something like coke all night. And you're in this spiral of doing something like that every night either with others or alone. "So much has changed I barely remember our formative lives", you realise how absolutely vain your current lifestyle is and you wish you could go back to the way things were before, beck when you were happy. But a lot of things have happened to put you into this spiral in the first place so it's not as simple as just quitting the drugs and leaving your current friends cuz that formative life doesn't exist anymore. But you know you want out, you don't wanna feel this miserable in the mornings while everyone else is going to church and being happy on this fine sunday. You want to be part of that but as long as you're still stuck in this spiral you can't. But. You know that breaking free is difficult, so for now you just wallow in your misery, "until then we'll float". Thats what the song's about to me anyways
