    Wow, man. Thanks for the close up of the correction you made. As soon as you showed that, it all made sense. Great video, and great explanation.

    I always come back to this video. Watched it maybe 5-6 times and I never “liked” it till this round.
    Funny thing….My manual doesn’t even explain this procedure. Just runs right past it. Telling you to torque things down. I have a manuals for both 2015 Superduke 1290r and a 2021 TE300. Neither manual discusses this. Jeff how do you feel about the importance of centering the brake caliper? For my street bike, I tighten the hand brake then do my torquing of the calipers while never letting off pressure. I guess dirtbikes don’t need as much?

    My 350 always has a 1/4" gap between the right fork leg and the spacer. It looks odd, but it won't pull in any closer when I go through the correct installation steps.

      Hi
      That is exactly the reason i was looking for a utube vid for that ecact reason. I even ordered new spacers because i wasnt 100% on that gap was right. But the front wheel free wheels nicely the wheel doesnt pull against the disc brake as i was really worried about so maybe now i have some solace. I noticed that even in this vid he has gap there. Seems odd but atleast now i can go out and ride confidently again.
      Cheers for posting this question👍

      @@cv8z632 After hundreds of hours of trail riding with that gap, there was never any issues. You are good to go.

    Ive done this AND sheared a pinch bolt by setting my torque wrench to the wrong spec. Surprisingly, pinch bolts have a low relative torque spec.
    Cool vid, btw. I like that Jeff's older vids pop up on my recommended list.

    We need a new video on TPI bike power valve adjustments! When’s it coming?

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The KTM/HQV owners manual says to not adjust the power valve on 2018-2021 tpi models. They state this to cover their butts for emissions standards. Adjusting the PV on 2018-2021 models is no different than previous year models.

      @@slaverace1 is air fuel ratio changed by turning the Power valve 1/2 turn? does it create a lean condition? extra mods needed if going 1/2 turn in or out?

    Why dislike the video?? He explains the most common mistake people make installing the front axle. Well, maybe because it wasn't a full install video

    Hello
    I have been searching the whole internet 😞I have a 525 EXC from 2004 in Europe and I want to mount supermoto wheels. However I have no idea what size to buy, especially the axles... is it 20mm rear 20mm front??

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your bike has a 26mm front axle and 20mm rear axle.

    I have a 2022 yz450 and my spacers and everything have to be forced onto the axle. It doesnt slide out st all like ive been seeing in videos. Seems like the axle is to big but i dunno. My brake rotor is rubbimg in a few spots and i cant get the wheel true for nothing. Man im struggling lol. Bout to give up and take it to a mechanic.

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't give up. Polish the axle and inside the fork lugs.

  • @DMobley232

    I was told that to truly tell if your forks are aligned. Remove wheel and make sure the axle bolt easily slides through both both forks and make sure you can easily turn the axle bolt. Any truth to this method?

    What keeps the wheel from drifting left to right on the axle, after the fork knuckle spreads off of the spacer, leaving a gap?

    • @slaverace1
      @slaverace1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The axle has a shoulder that pulls the wheel assembly to the left when the axle is tightened.

    So, I have play in my front wheel. seems the top hat spacers don't have a tight tolerance over the shaft. They have been replaced with after markets a year ago, along w/bearings n seals. I looked closely at the axle and tried the play at different positions along axle. (to see if axle wear was the issue) it just seems to be a bad inner tolerance on spacers?
    front and back wheels, same issue.
    lastly, whats the front axle, inner bolt for?
    thank you tons

      No wheel spacers fit the axle tightly and they don't need to for the wheel to be tight.
