Drone photography is awesome, but also risky... I've crashed my DJI Drone more times than I can count... maybe I need to go back to flight school?

you should get dji mavic 3 classic its has sensors in all directions
Buy an fpv drone it's way better trust me
I hope ur joking. Those things are impossible to fly in Manuel mode.
Too bad these links aren’t clickable, I was trying to watch em 😢

1st lesson - Every pilot crashed their drone.
Very True
Especially with fpv 😂
I’ve never crashed a Mavic drone and I’ve been flying since 2018.
@@chrispoulsen_me too my Mavic air I’ve never crashed it since 2018
Yes..Im one of Those pilot 😅😅😂
@@dontlookatmyprofile7497 yes but this is mainly referring to fpv drones, I personally haven't crashed my mavic mini, but i have crashed my fpv drone a lot because it is much harder to fly and far more powerful.
weird how a lot of drones don’t have obstacle avoidance sideways when most drones usually crash sideways
The cause of the crash is lack of obstacle avoidance in that direction. If you get the DJI air 3 though you’re covered on the sides 😊
and the new dji mini 4 pro has all directions
NO, that how you.control srone😂
That's why I fly FPV, we're built for the crash
Yeah man, we are.
yeah i’m the FPV, i can agree
FPV is the goat and much more fun to fly than these regular wifi drone
Crashing? You mean accidental landing
Fpv.... Mine caught on fire, it's just part of the hobby lol
I’ve been flying since 2015 DJI drones and never crash a single one
Same ere 🍩s crash thier drones
YET !!!!!
Me too, ive never crashed
@@Runningmanuk420 hahah totally, but im a donut then hahah
i’ve never crashed but i have lost a few of them because they never returned home☠️☠️☠️
That use of rice is like my grandpa recipes for decades
In Egypt you can't make it fly even a 1 meter 😂
The police will summon a sand storm that will blow your drone into oblivion if you do so.
Why can’t you?
@@Mandy77555 Because the Egyptian government which is the same as the military of Egypt (the military or the army controls the whole country system in Egypt and the civilians have no control over any high placement) considers these silly drones as a real helicopter 😂
imagine that you have to pay for a helicopter license which costs leg and arm,
and if you have the money then you gotta find out how to pass the exams of making it fly which doesn't make any sense because you haven't done any kind of practicing on it because it's banned to make it fly in front of any human and if before they make any type of response they send you all the way to every security agency exist is the country keeping in mind that your order might get rejected because they want that
imagine a country that is filled with employees and 110 million people that still takes the governmental documents by paper with somebody's handwriting font taking what was written on the paper back on a computer
and one of the most important things in photography that you probably know is the street photography which is also banned from being done or seen 🙁
here are the new rules, do you know when somebody tells you that to don't steal me in front of me, it's the same rule used here
you can sell anything and buy anything but don't let anybody know if someday a police officer asks you what this kind of devices that you are flying in the air just tell him that it's a kids helicopter, if you have something illegal you would use it on the pyramids if you have the money to do
then money controls at the end of the story
wanna finish any governmental document just give bribe to move the pen faster you can get a car license without any knowledge about what the steering wheel is 😂
I think if I wanted to make a full book talking about these things that happen here I would make a series of books.
@@learnwithyoussefdamn..
If your main problem is side to side, get the air 3!
No problem EVER crashing using my Skydio with the superior autonomous obstacle avoidance that even the newest DJI products still can't get right. I've owned it for 3 years. Just telling you the facts. Facts hurt sometimes.😁
Pro 4 mini
@@wrightEniYes
Great short! Been flying since 2016 & have had 1 crash...and I wasn't able to recover the drone 😢 After a few weeks, DJI care came to the rescue. Highly recommend if you're a beginner or planning to take risks with your drone.
That said, the Mavic 3 has sensors galore. If you can budget for it, side sensors WILL save you more times than you can count...but I still find myself reaching for my Mini 3 Pro more 😊
Every drone pilot does not crash their drone, especially a bunch of times. This isn't the fpv world where that makes sense.
I agree. I first have fpv before mini2. I still crash my fpvs but I never ever crashed my mini2. I even tried to do proximity in one river resort where I flew the mini2 assuming it is a slow cinewhoop. controlling thr yaw roll with camera tilt simultaneously is not comes naturally and I'm surprised mini2 can whoop (very slowly).
Yep, I have a zoom 2 and never crashed it. These drones do have sensors that tell you of your near something on the side loo
Also you need to register a drone weighing over 249g, and you need a part 107 (commercial drone license) to be able to sell footage.
DJI just sent me a replacement for my Air 2s.. this time around I purchased a set of prop guards from Amazon that protect the entire prop. Even from the top which might prevent tree branches from stopping it 🙏🏽like it did the last time I crashed 😁
Try FPV Acro Freestyle and see how you do.🤣🤣
Pro tip: Buy a waterproof drone, which you can fly over water surface!
Every person that purchases an expensive drone like those should always open them up and waterproof the electronics electronics will ensure the survival of your drones no matter how it gets wet how much it gets wet very gets wet it should always be safe just dip the electronics in acrylic or even polyurethane anything that will completely pretty waterproofing taking coating over your parts but only after soldering
Overheat much? Polyurethane will burn. I think you mean conformal coatings. My Jaguar ECU had a conformal coating that saved me $1400 replacement for an Aluminum body Vanden Plas (X350) conformal coatings are invisible, do not affect heat dispersion and protect against water short circuit events. Fimi Drones after X8SE 2020 have been water/snow proof by design. I would absolutely warn anyone putting Polyurethane on a CPU Capable of running at 600-800°Celsius to be prepared for their drone to burn and crash vs crash and burn 😂
Outside of this, don't fly your drone in the rain, and none of this will matter. 😂😅😂
Yeah that sure way to destroy electronics.
Burned at least 1 RC car esc that way
Luckily my drone didn’t break it’s arm.
I have got my drone license from India, I never crashed my drone once since 3 years :) in all drones obstacle avoidance is the feature but it can't detect power lines , small tree branches , so pilot must gain skills before flying at tricky places , have a safe drone flying 😊 practicing more is the success mantra
👀 How about now? Hope you’re still holding up 🤥
I crashed mine into the very top of a huge tree in the first 10 minutes of getting home with my first drone. I never even had to recharge a battery. It snowed that night and it was still up there. About three days later it got windy and rainy. When I got home from work it was laying in my yard getting rained on. I let it dry overnight before I tried turning it on,when I turned it on, it was fine.
It shows how high-quality drones are
There is nothing beyond repair for a technician 😎
As long as there are parts 😢
"In all directions...except side to side"
I have not crashed. Been flying for years.
The key is, just follow the safety rules. Assess the environment. Fly within your limits.
Most crashes happen when pilots have no flight plan. Does not assess the environment/weather and just fly
Ah right! My fault for not sharing my flight plan with the random bird that took down my drone. Got it!
@@kobby2g8Ye and how high is the probability of a bird flying into your drone? 😂
@@Nitroglycerin1000 Well is twice in 2 years high enough a probability?. Would link to a clip on my IG, but feels a but like a shameless plug.
Until it's crashed buy new drone
True
I don’t see why he didn’t mention DJI’s replacement program. They replaced 2 of my crashed drones, within a month of buying it. Went to Best Buy with my drone in pieces in the original box, they grabbed one off the shelf and I was in my way in 5 mins and flying again later that day!
Thank you for the encouragement.. I thought I was a failure for crashing my drone… I thought I was the only one who did it 😢
Ive learned that the better you get, the worse the drone acts. So after years of flying, esc fails, FC fails, GPS modules fail but my stick input remails solid. So he is right. Everyone crashes 😂
Get drone insurance lol
My air 2s is a work horse! I too put it in the lake and then rice bagged it and it lived! Then I put it in a river, same thing lived again but the led white light is out lol I still fly it to this day it’s my go to !
As a drone pilot I confirm we crash.
In Hungary, drones can only be flown in certain places and even to fly there you need a permit, which takes about 30 days to get.
Crashed beyond repair. Meanwhile, me thinking all the ways I could’ve fixed that in 25 minutes.
I flew mine into a road sign, luckily it caught itself and kept flying 👀🫶🏼
I have crashed my drones before and it was only when I was not being careful or when I used autonomous flight modes like active track and spotlight
Never ever crashed my DJI mini se, I always fly it on sport mode. Every time you want to be gentle with something and try to avoid breaking the thing, then it happens. If you just fly your drone with confidence you will never crash it. Bad things happen when you try to avoid them. Go fly your drone with confidence. Even if you try to hit a tree you'll not succeed. If you want to avoid a tree you're gonna crash your drone
Other anti air idea. 12 gauge mag fed
I found out quickly that flying in the mountains near my cabin is almost not worth it. The ceiling of flight for most commercial drones is 10,000 feet and I was trying fly around 11,000. All kinds of warnings were going off and the flight abilities were hampered.
Top tip ..before taking off have a good look round the area in your in and I mean "round" I crashed my first mini 2 drone into the cross bar of goals that were behind me ...I got a replacement at no cost.Work it out.
This made me more confident fly my drone now thank you
The most important things too, get away from a bird and never think u can rush the bird its terrible decission. U gonna be crashed because the bird might be not scared even curious abt ur drone 😂
Actually, I've never crashed a DJI drone. Like he said, they're covered in sensors to prevent you from crashing. So long as you have your eyes open, they're basically uncrashable.
with fpv you can
no dji
Nothing like an FPV to hit a plane engine
First lesson every pilot crash their drone 😂 very true practice with a less price one before buying the expensive ones
I was flying it and nicked a small part of a branch on a tree and it flew over a pond and started spinning out of control and I somehow managed to get in over to land and land it. The gymble camera was droopy and I was recording it when it happened
1st time I crashed mines was during filming of a completed roofing project! Since I have the mini pro 3 as I was flying it backwards I ended up crashing it into a few branches on a 15-20 foot tree and literally had to claim the tree to retrieve it 🤣🤣 it did not help being on a time crunch due to a incoming thunder storm lol
1 thing don't use rice use silica gel it sucks up moisture a lot better and will not have a chance to mess up your electronics like rice does
I crashed my dji mini 2 into a wall once. But the sensors failed, and it broke 2 arms one the ground when the motors didn't stop.
It's so sweet. Americans wondering what few places they can't fly in while in Germany it's impossible to fly a drone legally almost everywhere.
💯 % true , Specific in India crowded areas and majority good locations comes under No Drone Zone .
So I live 2 miles away from an airport. Would there be any problems with me flying in my backyard? Thanks.
Definitely
As long as you don’t cross into the airports property line it should be ok
I don't know man. I fly on average 140 times a year (based on DJI statistic in the app) and I didn't even crashed once (I am using first Mavic Mini without any sensors). Sometimes I fly rented Phantoms or Mavic Pros and I am suprised how stupid people are to crash a drone which has sensors all over the body and beeps and breaks when you come close to an obstacle
hmm
Going fast or maybe lost connection or rogue drone has caused a cpl crashes for me . Haven’t tried a dji yet
I think it's up to the pilot how to take care if you fly too far or too high but the drone is often safer when it's high and above all it depends on the place where you fly the drone and even if there is obstacle avoidance
What drone would you recommand to make pro vidéos for hôtels, stores for their web sites and social médias etc ? Thanks
If you're crashing drones into lakes or rivers, crashing multiple times beyond repair, etc then you're attempting wreckless manuevers that are beyond your skill level. When i first flew my Mavic I literally only flew in open fields where there was nothing to crash into and worked up from there. I've literally never crashed mine.
High limit in Malaysia only 400 feet (122 meters).. beyond than that you have to get a permit with CAAM (Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia) that cost RM250 per day (53usd).. But, you must have any drone certificate before getting the permit. The only annoying thing with the permit is you have to wait 2 weeks before you can actually fly the drone. While waiting for the approval, it might be cancelled for some reason (weather, dangerous area, busy airport).. for me if tou really need a footage to fly higher than 400 feet or to fly somewhere that is illegal to fly.. yes you can apply the permit. For me if its for business it's no problem to get the permit.. otherwise people just go fly the drone illegally..
I crushed every drop I bought 😂
What camera did you use to film this video?
I fly FPV. I’m on a pretty tight budget so I fly just to the edge of my limits and whenever I want to try a new trick or practice my gaps I use the simulator. DJI drones are pretty difficult to crash (unless you’re moving sideways because that’s a blind spot in the sensor array) and they don’t take anywhere near the skill to fly, in fact they’re so easy I’ve seen ten year olds get decent looking shots. If you’re on the fence about it I would recommend getting one anyway and just be careful and mindful at all times. Happy flying!
I am going to buy a drone today and thank you for the advice
You can fly anywhere as long as you don’t get caught
Flew right next to a military base, didn’t realize. As soon as I took off DJI software warned about restricted airspace and immediately began a forced landing(you can only control direction not altitude). Oh well 😂
Saying about posting signage about drone regulations, make sure you have permission to fly on file and also keep updated on DJI website in (Fly Safe) section.
My DJI mini 4 lives at the bottom of a pond now because a duck flew up and attacked it right above the water! Wildlife is unpredictable!
You can actually fly it anywhere, but you’ll get in trouble if you fly it in some restricted areas. The word can implies ability.
Practice on cheap quads before buying an expensive one. Start with no GPS and no altitude hold, then you can fly anything with confidence.
There’s nowhere you can’t fly a drone except military bases and airports. Nobody else has a net gun to take your drone out or the capabilities to follow your drone through the woods at high speed.
2 years strong and haven’t crashed their are so many safety features
Crashing depends on what you're flying too, I don't know anyone who has flown acro for a while and hasn't crashed.
I got mini 3 and I love it
You can do all that flying if you get licensed with the FAA as a drone pilot.
Birds in the sky thinks its enemy so start attacking
Remarkably informative!
Ive been flying since before DJI existed. Never crashed into a tree
The X-17 drone has 3 different speeds I keep it on 60% it has sensors all over it left right front and back and bottom so if it try’s to crash it can’t because the sensors will stop the motors and slow it down
Man I needed this. Just crashed my mini 3 into a tree going sideways for the second time now and I’m terrified. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one though.
Probably cuz you’d get lost trying to find a drone in the Amazon
Mavic 3 has 360° Obstacle Avoidance. I've tested it....extremely carefully and it dodged a bunch of different obstacles. However, I don't do too many slider shots and when I do...I make sure that there nothing my M3 will smack into
Do you know why my drone would be leaning left while trying to take off then shuts down.?
Thank god tello is durable, I crashed into a oak tree countless amounts of times because I live in a forested area.
I will gladly receive those broken drones and repair them
I have a quick question
My uncle recently gave me his GoPro Karma drone, I’m still trying to fix pairing issues with the controller and the drone and I was wondering if it was a good starter drone.
Dji camera drones are pretty hard to crash imo.. I've been using a mini 2 for a couple of years now, for work and pleasure. I've never crashed it!
I'm currently learning to fly fpv though and that's a different matter entirely!
I think every new drone pilot including myself within the last few days should atleast crash their drone once in a test way or stupidity, whether high winds or distance ect. Battery lose, but not into people to be able to learn what not to do. I almost lost mine on the second day flying during stormy winds wasnt able to make it home when battery got low and RTH kicked in. Couldnt fight the wind to make all the way home. Landed 5 houses down on the sidewalk. Defs wont do that again.
fly safe dji fly anywear
Use dental glue and a black light to set up the glue.
Rule 1. You are going to crash
Rule 2. It gets expensive really fast
I just bought a insurance for the drone 😅
For some reason online tech stores in the Philippines have insurances for accidental damage and thief incidents.
Ive never crashed my drones. Flew the mini, air 2, dji fpv and now the air 3
So, that being said, is the Air 2s still a viable platform for doing business? Thanks
I have had my €250 Holystone 510s for 2 and a half years now, not a single crash. Its my first drone. If you dont do anything stupid...you will not crash it.
Got it stuck on top of a shop building
The rice 🍚🌾💀☠️
crashed an office owned drone, now i have to replace it. fucked!
I am actually so carefull with my drone, i dont do risky stuff or fly near trees or the ground. i value my drone and know that i spend alot of money on it. I rather keep it safe than risk it for a nice shot. In dangerous areas.
Great way to bait all the “I’vE nEvEr CrAsHeD mY DrOnE” people
Knock on wood, i've never crashed a drones with now 300 hours of flight time
I’m trying to figure out why the charging lights are blinking so fast on my DJI mini
I’d still fly it 🤷🏻
TIP NO 1- NEVER EVER TRUST SENSORS
TIP NO 2- There is no need to take Eye level shots with a drone
TIP NO 3- Not Every one clashes if pilot knows the risk
I’ve been flying drones for a little over a year now and have not once crashed into a tree or water.. idk how people crash do you not plan out your flights?
Never crashed even from my first one
I just crashed my drone recently because of a full memory incident. The memory was full and had the monitor loading for such a long time while the gallery is opened. Until, probably, the battery of the drone ran out and return back home on a tree, fell and broke the gimbal. 😢
(EDIT) - Lesson: Never open the drone gallery while the drone is flying.
How do you know it isn't allowed in some areas
