They got me crying here. This is the classiest thing this organisation has done in DECADES!! I love this🤎
Dudes got like 100 granddaughters and 1 grandson.😂😂. Great moment.
"What the What?!" is now my favorite way to respond to exciting news.
That jersey number has BEEN retired in my book.
Reading the title I was surprised Green's 28 hadn't already been retired. He was one of those rare players that was universally respected by ALL NFL fans.
I lost my mother on January 1, 1982. This team raised me, and 28 was my favorite uncle
Darrell is an absolute HUMBLE LEGEND!!! I met him in 91, when my Uncle Dan (R.I.P.) got us playoff tickets for that year, ON THE ROCKING BLEACHERS!!!! It was such an absolute blast. Four years ago I was walking on my way back from lunch in D.C. wearing a Redskins Coat that had the superbowls and some of the great players numbers on it, including his. I hear a voice call out "Man, thats a nice jacket!" I turn around and it's Darrell Green getting out of a limo!! I smiled from ear to ear and just said "Man....any chance we can get you back on the field?!? Or defense could sure use your help!" He just smiled and said..."Man...I'm still quick, but not THAT quick!!" He was out there to pick up his son from work, we chatted for like 10 minutes before he came down, I told him I had worked for 10 years at FedEx Field as an usher, he loved hearing my quick stories about the fans in the nosebleed sections...such a cool individual. So happy for him to get this honor!!
hopefully they raise an actual Redskins jersey
Finally, ownership with dignity, class, and a coaching staff to match. For them to do this for Darrell speaks to their foundational beliefs. I met Mr. Green and Mr. Monk when I was twelve, and I still have his signature tucked away in a box. He is truly a humble man. HTTR!!
Darrell Green was Prime Time before Prime Time was. Nobody deserves it more.
As a 53 yrs old Cowboy fan,I was surprised this was on my feed. Glad it was. Grats Mr. Green. Respect!
From a die hard lifelong Cowboys fan, Congratulations Mr. Green, you deserve it.
used to hoop with DG at the Vienna park..... multiple times...he was there a lot and not anyone who ever thought he was anything more than a player trying to ball.. many of them aren't.. but let me tell you.... he' 100% real and genuine when my friend sprained his knee Darrell.. stopped and helped Bob off the court and made sure he was ok before continuing ..he was always the adult in the room, he was the king in that park.. you could almost see the white light around him..i kid you not.. you felt a lift being near him..... great honor for a great man.
Congratulations to Darrell! Cowboys fan here, from Roger, Tony, Drew, Emmitt, Troy, and Michael, I watched Darrell Green play so brilliantly against my Cowboys! Awesome Mr. Green! You earned this!
I've been a Cowboys fan since nineteen hundred and seventy.I have the utmost respect for
Born and raised in Dallas. Cowboy fan for life. THIS is AWESOME!!! Darrell Green is one of the best to ever do it. Nice!
Die Hard Cowboys fan here... and this man caused me to cuss at my TV toooo many times. lol
I never watched him make one play (bit before my time) and I STILL teared up watching this. The family, the honor, the struggling to compose himself at the unveiling, MAGIC (I was bizarrely a die-hard Showtime Lakers fan despite not being alive while they were playing, no it doesn't make any sense). That was a very great video and I'm happy to see this organization embrace their past players. I was worried they were gonna go no we can't acknowledge the past b/c of the name change and it's like you still have to HONOR GREATNESS!!!
I didn't expect to start tearing up on a Thursday morning, this was a real suprise lol. For him to say he finally feels back and part of the franchise again just shows how neglected our Alumni were from the old regime.
Man look at that family, Darrel Green has done great
