I like more budokan version. But this is still fucking awesome, really love this. I think James in moments sings a middle tone down that they must sing, just a little. However, I'm very happy to see them together again. Waiting for the show here in Argentina, 19 dec 2024❤❤❤
Mangini put his nuances into the stuff from DT's first 25 years, so it's natural Portnoy would do the same with stuff from the Mangini Era. They're both great and they're both on my favorites list, so I also wish people wouldn't take their preferences between the two Mikes so seriously.
But for real from what I've seen, the ones that actually babbles about Mike vs Mike isn't actually a pro drummer or at least don't know shit or two about drumming in a live environment. All they know that both must play exactly 1:1 like in the recording or else they think drum covers in youtube did better than them. Both Mike got the base structures of the songs right and that's the most important part on a live performance, period.
Mike mangini é mais técnico nessa música. No início tem uma sequencia de pedal duplo no riff junto da guitarra, realmente nessa apresentação MP não fez essa linha.
Saw them in Zagreb. Great concert. People are talking bad about Labrie but I have my own opinion about that. When there is enough “sonic space” Labrie sounds really great, but when the instrumentals are going hard the sound engineer puts waaay too much reverb on labrie, and it sounds mushy. You just cant recognise what is he singing. Plus when guitar or keys get to their solos, the sound engineer amplifies the sound so that (probably) a interference of notes (sound) add up and sound waaay too trebly and pointy. So I dont really get the hate for Labrie, as i said, when he has enogu space he shines
LaBrie was never my cup of tea, but with a voice this damaged he is really dragging teh whoel band down with him. With a proper singer I believe Dream Theater could be properly unlocked. Especially with Portnoy back on the drums now
The video is very beautiful because it is clear and sharp, but it does not convey any emotional involvement. Never different shots, never close-ups, never a shot of the audience where you can't tell if they were having fun or not. It seems like a well-studied fixed location, but unfortunately inanimate because it conveys coldness
People, people, no more feelings when singing/guitar solos.......You should take a really long break (2-3 years) so that your feet can get down to earth...... You've mutated into a fairground band.....It's a real shame.........
@@iChan_sIt also doesn't exist without Kevin Moore then. Obviously Portnoy is very replaceable. The only ones who cannot be replaced are Petrucci and Jordan. The true sound of DT. And yes. Mangini was a better drummer. Always was.
@TeramazeBand Relax man, it's not a criticism. I've been seeing them live since the 90s. I know their "concentration" faces, and that ain't it. I think they sound great this tour, I just hope they're enjoying it.
the band used to have different sets each night in their prime, but it's understandable that right now they goes for 1 setlist for the whole tour. Portnoy just comeback after 13 years of absence, Labrie struggles with the older materials (glad that he and the band improving slowly on this tour), and they just put out new album, so they might just spend more time rehearse the new materials and not so much for the older ones.
James was awesome!
Loved the eye contact between james and JP at the end of barstool warrior and JP managed to support the last high notes !
日本では、阿吽の呼吸といいます。😊🎉😊❤😊🎉😊ドリームシアターは、全てにおいて、素晴らしいです。素敵です。😊❤😊
Great James 😀
JAMES JAMES JAMES!!
this sounds great
Classic DT the energy of the original lineup
james sounds good in hollow years
Labrie is back
Him taking the higher lines down in their older stuff is definitely helping him sound better.
It's almost weird how much better he's been the last few shows
Thank You for sharing!
Muito obrigado Dream Theater, pela sua música de alta qualidade, de muitos ensaios, estudos eu agradeço de coração
Mike brought the HEAT in this version of Barstool Warrior.
Damn that Hollow Years solo might be as good as Budokan if not better. It's way more blues put into it here.
His best version yet on this tour. I didn't think anything could beat the Budokan one but by the time this tour is done, he might have it.
@esuing true, Budokan version is so iconic, but this one is great too, if he can get better than this then it might bear the iconic title too.
Amazing...🎶🎵✨ DREAM THEATER... The best !!!!

This two songs combine perfectly..
Petrucci in any version of Hollow Years is amazing
ドリームシアター大好き。😊🎉😊❤😊🎉😊
Se existe algo a fazer no Dream Theater é soltar mais o contra baixo, ele é top também e merece mais espaço
this guy has a really good phone !!!!
RAAAAAAH Petrucci mentioned Slovenia!!!!!! Come to us now!!!
Great
thanks wonderful movie.I love John's guitar, but I wish John would be quiet in Jordan's piano section at Barstool Warrior😂
Ask any pro drummer, it takes time to "settle in" to another drummer's parts written for a song, he sounds great here. Enough Mike VS. Mike babble.

@@GamingDrummer89 Mangini didn't put nuances. He ruined all the Portnoy songs.
@@EetFuk8no he did if you listen to it carefully
Agree Mike is great :P

MP muito mais groove

I absolutely love Hollow Years, but I wish JP dropped the light drive during the chorus. Some rich stereo modulation would sound a lot better IMO.
That stick toss at 7:32
I was wondering in Munich about the extra line in the pre-chorus of Hollow Years. This is a demo version of the song?

thanks for the great footage!, sounds pretty good too... what did you used to record?

Takúto muziku na slovensku hrala slovenská kapela Fermáta pred 35rokmi!!!!
Every DT song with clean tone, there are always open strings of b and e strings 😂
6:44 Petrucci error
Mangini comeback!!!
I'd like that a lot.

Mangini does it better of course! No doubt
Absolutely...
but portnoy has the best feeling

@@iChan_s we didnt talk about song,we talked about winch drummer was better for the song
This is clearly a downgraded drum version of Barstool Warrior but funny and easier to play at least
James voice is out of tune in most songs
Can Portnoy play The enemy inside?
Yes. Why not? YT drummer do that.

.... it's a phone video from a fan lmao
Dude
Petrucci sounds out of tempo i hear, sounds suddenly fast, also a little slow, unstable, Mangini is more better and stable
Why u are comparing guitarist with drummer ?
More stable because they played to a click track lol
