    With that comment you just proved that you're born to teach. To help someone so that someone learns to take responsibilty for his or her own fate is the ultimate quality of a real teacher.
    I immediately recognized that you are born to teach because when you speak about whatever you speak you speak with so much authority.
    You're not a doctor, you're not a scientist, you have no degree, you're not a psychologist and yet you have more authority than those with degree because you absolutely know what you're talking about and you speak so calm and conscious and you never stutter. Everything comes out of your mouth eloquently, clearly, with great clarity, with much empathy and compassion.
    And you have the ability to explain things so that even a child could understand. That's a rare quality also. I trusted you from the very first video on that you're complete honest and tell the truth in all that you say. That's a high quality and anything but self-evident in current days.
    I have lots of respect for you. When I watch a video of you my inner voice tells me: listen to that man. That man knows what he's talking about. You're a teacher and a friend. I learned already a lot from you.

    Jake is ok and helped raise awareness to reversing myopia however, Mark is correct. Mark has learned so much from the Bates method as well as from his own experiences. I definitely do what Mark advises over Jake. Just remember thee most crucial bit of information is to RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!

    This is a great idea for incorporating movement, smooth pursuit, parallax, etc towards improving vision. One thing I noticed from interviews is that people who play competitive team sports with plenty of movement (eg soccer) improve their vision much faster than those who don't. There is something to be said for mid-range (10-30 feet away) movement to improve vision, especially when the observer is moving.
    I used to think that statically looking at faraway objects was the key to improvement. I tried this for a long time and it didn't really do much outside of my own imagination. I think it created more stress and strain to go from lots of close up work to very long distance vision (especially when trying to "force" it). I thought that just looking at things far away was enough to relax my eyes, but I realize now that it is not that simple. I think what you talk about (peripheral vision, relaxation, movement) are the real keys to improvement. I still have a lot to learn.

    Hi Mark thanks for sharing! If you are squating, does the foreground object need to be low enough to not obstruct the background object, even when you are at the lowest position for this to be set up right? Or do you not have them lined up perfectly infront of one another for this exercise? Many thanks

    • @MyopiaIsMental
      @MyopiaIsMental  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! It does not have to be completely lined up at all. The foreground object can be off center to the left or right, above or below for this to work. Here's a bonus... After you do a squat or jumping session, follow it up with a rocking session for a few minutes and do the same thing of alternating between a foreground and background object.

    • @SketchedbySte

      @@MyopiaIsMental amazing thanks for the reply! So this one works with just foreground and background? It's not like with the rocking where you have an object to focus on with something infront and also behind (I seem to remember it being 3 objects for rocking, if I've got that right)

    Hi Mark greeting from Turkey. Thank you for your all videos. I have been looking for some exercises for my eyesight improvement. I never used a glasses in my life but lately i have noticed some myopia and right eye is weaker then left. I think i have discovered active focus recently and working on it.BUT After 40 i noticed that i cant see clear close up like phone screen or book as i used to see. Can i use active focus for close up vision improvement or what can i do about it? And what do you think about pinhole glasses? I would be very grateful if you share your opinions and knowledge. Thank you

    • @MyopiaIsMental
      @MyopiaIsMental  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe the techniques are universal whether you have a problem seeing close or far away. I've heard from people that have trouble seeing close up, who were able to improve their vision doing the exact same techniques. I don't think age has anything to do with vision degradation, but rather the fact that muscles aren't being used as much as they were, so they stop working as efficiently. It all goes back to use it or lose it. We exercise our body to keep it strong but how many of us exercise our eyes to keep them strong? As for pinhole glasses, I tried them for a while once and while I saw a slight improvement with them, I found I did better by reteaching myself how to see with no stimulus in front of my eyes. This is also a reason why I no longer wear sunglasses.

    Mark! Hey again! Another question popped up in mind. This one is interesting I promise. I noticed how your method is, well, inspired by Jakes method, from endmyopia, but I noticed how some key things are different. Such as opposing sides on the stinging and tearing, and how Jake says to not go without glasses, but your method is quite the opposite, trying to go without glasses as much as possible,
    I also saw that you said that anyone in the range of -3 to -5 should try doing closeup without glasses completely, whereas Jake said that differentials are needed to get a *little* bit of blur to clear up. But then I realized that you recommend a lot more blur.
    I’m pretty confused on all this, as I’m still in the process of starting, but I was able to find active focus through your rocking method!! :D
    *please respond I need answers* 🧐

    • @MyopiaIsMental
      @MyopiaIsMental  ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Hi, Everything I truly learned was inspired and rooted in the Bates Method. Before there was EM, there was the Bates method and if you do your research, active focus is only one small part of the Bates method. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the method. If it works for you, great, but I learned there's much more to vision improvement than active focus. I believe Bates got a lot of things right about vision improvement but much of it is not explained very well. I also learned a lot from taking courses in neuroscience which made me understand how the brain, nervous system and muscles work together and why certain techniques work to improve vision. I have to ask you this question and I really want you to think about it. If you were to take off your glasses, do a few things and see clearly (even if it's only for a second), do you really need glasses? It was this question and the result that led me to more questions about why was I able to do this. One of the answers to that question was that movement helps you see better. The second answer was being aware of the entire visual field makes you see better. A muscle that doesn't move stops working. If there's no stimulus to a muscle, it gets weak. The eyes are no different. I learned if I can keep myself moving while I'm sitting my vision got better, and I didn't need glasses, even for close-up. I started with my monitor close to my face but as my eyesight improved I was able to push my monitor further away. I learned the body is more capable of fixing itself than we give it credit for. However, must people fail to see the subtle clues it gives us that it wants to change. I'm going to be doing a video on multiple pairs of glasses soon which will explain more of my thoughts on the subject. Clearing up a lot of blur isn't as hard as many people think. It just takes time, consistency and patience to keep it that way all the time.

      @@MyopiaIsMental interesting that Bates is so poorly explained. My theory on that is that there was not much "corporate profit" to be made teaching//coaching//administering Bates method. As a result , there is no "sales/,marketing team" making every aspect of Bates Method super easy to follow. You explain Bates very well. Nathan Oxenfeld is quite good as well but he has been immersed in the Bates method for so long he sometimes loses beginners. YOu are great for beginners sir. Would this exercise be even better if you added a third object to look at … holding a finger in front of your face and staring at that for 15 bounces? Then the middle ground object, then the far away object.

    • @MyopiaIsMental
      @MyopiaIsMental  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can certainly add that in as a variation, but note when you're looking at your finger and jumping, your finger does not become a stationary object. It will move in sync with your jumping. Still notice the movement of the background against the focus on your finger.

    Whats your stance on computers/screens and vision improvement?

    • @MyopiaIsMental
      @MyopiaIsMental  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Computers and screens aren't so much the problem, but rather tunnel vision when looking at these devices are. That includes books too. After I learned to look at the whole picture and notice movement while I work, I noticed my vision stayed sharper during and after being on a computer all day. Think about it... People who don't wear glasses and look at a computer all day and see fine. What are they doing that people who wear glasses aren't doing?

    will this treat DELAYED EYE FOCUS? everytime i turn my head, or even my eyes, there is always around 1 second delay of focus. my vision becomes blurred first before i can see clearly.
    an opthalmologist said it might be accomodative spasm (but i know how accomodative spasm feels for i have experienced it. my focus locks in to near or distant vision from time to time that gets relieved by rest or relaxation)
    this one's different. another opthalmologist said this might be age related ciliary muscle weakness. but i am 31-32 years old. i think im still too young for this?
    the third one said my question is difficult to answer
    ive visited around 8 opticians/optometrists and nobody solve the problem. some said it might be dry eyes (but ive been puting eye drops religiously) some said it might be astigmatism, which actually decreased my symtoms when they increased my CYL prescription.
    but not completely- and that eyewear eventually worsen my eyestrain the longer i wear them.
    some said computer syndrome or digital eye strain but i minimized screen time now)
    i had my eyes lasered via SMILE pro
    i got 20/20 vision now, but i still i have the delayed eye focus. surgeon's team said my brain is still adjusting to the new vision (had my eyes lasered 7 weeks ago) but i already had this problem before the procedure!
    i already dunno what to do. but 2 weeks after resigning from my job, i actually noticed a little improvement:
    at first my delayed focus happens almost EVERYTIME i move my eyeballs. like if i look up, then look down, or look right then left, my vision turns blurry before i can see.
    now it's when i move my head!! eyeball movement doesnot cause delayed focus anymore (unless if my eyes are tired or strained)
    hopefully this jumping excercise will help me.

    • @aiben1022
      @aiben1022 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      when i try to minimize eye focus delay by forcing my eyes to focus or exerting more effort..
      and when i look for some things URGENTLY like i need to move my head and eyes quick!! so i can find the missing item quickly, my eye focus cannot catch up.
      these two scenarios worsen my eye focus and strains my eyes!. and prolonged the delay. then overall hazy vision that will last for 2-3 days happen.
