    may i ask why at 13:00 the a is -g ? but both are going upwards and if I'm not mistaken you say that upwards is positive?

    At 11:09 when the ball is falling, why did you make acceleration negative? I thought if the ball is moving up acceleration is negative.

      You can choose to make the acceleration positive - that would make the displacement positive too and the answer would remain the same.

      @@amjadanwar202 g acts downwards, so downward is pos, so up is neg

    23:38 wouldnt you need to add 2 4's??

      no as it STARTS from 4 m high. therefore you only need to calculate the distance from the platform to the highest point, double it and then add the 4 metres from the corresponding height of the platform to the ground. meaning it will travel in three segments. the distance, "s" from the platform to the highest point then that same distance from the highest point to where that platform wld be, then the final 4 metres to the ground

    why is it -g when the object is falling freely due to gravity? shouldnt it be +g

      If we are saying up is positive then it is -g.
      We could also say down is positive and the it would be +g.
      As long as we are consistent for all of the values it doesn't matter.

      It is +g though because it is going downwards and isn’t acting against the way the Particle is falling

      But at 1:45 he says acceleration upwards is negative but later in the same example he says going up is positive. In this example, the same direction has two different values?

    Isn't it 2s + 8? You travel the path twice. so 4 is doubled and so is s. Cheers

      I was referring to the last question. But I'm wrong, I thought that the ball returns to the ground which is under the 4m long platform from which its being launched. Anyways thanks for the reply, I've got the Applied paper tomorrow I've been revising all week using your videos. Thank you!
