With AltRider’s Variable Height Suspension Lowering Linkage customize your suspension to either lower or raise your seat height. Lower your seat 19mm (0.74 in), 32mm (1.25 in), or raise your seat 6mm (0.24 in), or 20mm (0.78 in) from factory height.
Lower your suspension to make your Tuareg easier and more comfortable to put both feet down during stops on uneven terrain, or for more confidence in traffic. If you have a shorter inseam, increase your comfort and confidence knowing you will be able to plant both feet on the ground. Our variable height lowering linkage is an excellent way to improve your skill level, set your height to where you’re comfortable and raise the height as your skill level improves!
Four adjustable heights with provided inserts, 2 lowered heights, and 2 raised heights
Lower your seat 19mm (0.74 in), 32mm (1.25 in) from factory
Raise your seat 6mm (0.24 in), or 20mm (0.78 in) from factory
Seat height adjustments are etched on the inserts
Built in UHMW plastic linkage guard to prevent damage
Precision CNC machined aircraft grade billet aluminum with anodized finish
Needle bearings with integrated dust seals to provide OEM level ingress protection
Weighs only 1.9 oz (54 grams) more than OEM linkage
Robust 6mm thick UHMW integrated linkage guard to protect the lower shock mount (removable with 3x M6 flush mounted fasteners). The only offering with a built-in plastic guard, doesn’t transfer impact like other rigid guards and won’t snag like aluminum will.
Adjustments are made with inserts that have the seat height setting laser etched on them. Each insert has 2 different holes and can rotated two different ways for a total four different ride heights. The inserts have the seat height adjustments etched on the inserts.

Great product and video. Planning to buy one from you. Thanks.
Awesome, thank you!
perfect i will have !
It's a versatile part!
Fantastic video explaining all this so clearly. Do you ship to Europe, or do you have a distributor in Europe?
We have a sister site that all of our EU friends can order from: www.altrider.eu/
Legend
It's a great bike, and lower it has a number of advantages!
Does lowering with the linkage make the travel less also? Or will the travel of 240mm stay the same?
Yup, suspension travel distance does not change
if I lower the rear by 19mm, do I have to do the same with the front end?
We recommend adjusting the front approximately 50% of the rear. 8:24 on is all about how to adjust the front.
@@AltRiderLLC Ok, but why do you indicate the third notch as OEM? the bike is delivered standard with the fork on the first notch (+ 20 mm indication). I don't understand this...
It’s possible your dealer did something different during the PDI (Post Delivery Inspection).
Either way the point is there is no one way to setup your suspension. We suggest doing 50% rate reduction to the front and then see how it feels and adjust if necessary. If you hit the limits of adjustment on the fork then a local suspension shop can help you make other adjustments.
We try to give you the knowledge of how the modifications affect the feel and performance of the suspension. Many riders probably wouldn’t be able to tell a difference of a few millimeters on the forks. Some riders would feel it immediately. If you’re not sure how it feels for you, you can use our suggestions as a baseline and then you can experiment with small adjustments if desired.
Thank you. I think I'll buy the system for my Tuareg later and I'll try...@@AltRiderLLC
Awesome! Let us know how you like it

An $200.00 answer to a non existent question…
The stock height is great for a lot of people, and probably most people won't be interested in making seat height modifications.
But for some people who might be shorter or are still building their confidence, getting over an inch closer to the ground can make a noticeable difference in confidence. And of course, there’s the option to raise your seat height, that gives you more ground clearance.
says who?
