Would be great to have some more information on some of the longer term loco projects, ie 73096, 34105, 45379 and perhaps how the partnership between the south based heritage lines works/is working. Keep up the good work though, always good to watch.
Our Grandson and I had a great trip over the line last year and the ride was very smooth. Well done chaps; doing a great job. The re-use of old wood always makes me feel good - most of the wood I use in my hobby is re-used. I bought some Ash the other day - it cost a packet!
Brilliant video once again! Would love to see a few new/updated locos of the line and maybe some more insight on goods wagons? The types of wagons stored and used at the railway.
Hi Will, how about covering the safety and other requirements for setting up line side for filming? I rather doubt that you can just start filming wherever you fancy!
hi Will. great video.for me i would like to see more on cl 50 027 LION and the progress on it. also some 08 diesel maintenance and all diesel maintenance, great work on the coaches, your dad is no 1 !
Great video, very informative. What wood is used for the replacement roof? Topics: 1. Covered loco/carriage storage: should it be a priority? where could/should it be? Otherwise all this work is being wasted...discuss. 2. Timetables on preserved railways: why is the Watercress no longer a turn up and travel timetabled railway? who cares if the enthusiasts therefore don't come anymore, does it matter? 3. I'll get my coat
The railway took a pre booked ride policy over Covid due to distancing requirements, this was removed in mid 2021 and returned to turn up and travel timetabled railway as you put it
Hi@@benskelton1723 Thanks for explaining the background of the recent COVID era changes. My point re the MHR being more that there are now no published timetables for large blocks of the school holiday periods. I appreciate that the MHR has to make money to survive, and that times are hard. As someone who has been visiting since c1980, with family too, I am alienated by finding myself practically shut out of attending between 29th March and 14th April as there are no published timetables on the website. It effectively sends a very clear signal that casual visitors (enthusiasts or not), who want to turn up on a given day and travel on the trains, even if they are happy to pay the additional fare for the event, are not catered for. Try planning on visiting the MHR between those dates and you get a "Book (event) tickets now" wall and no information on when trains are running. Same thing last Christmas/New Year. All event only. No traditional twixt Christmas and New Year winter sunlight run up the bank through the chalk hills available. Just night time lights events. There are a lot of people, who might be up to 20% of the MHR's traffic on any given day, who will go somewhere else, because they just can't plan their visit. I'll be taking my son to the Bluebell over Easter, partly as he's too old to search for Easter Eggs, but mainly because I have no idea how to plan a day on the MHR between 29th March and 14th April either. I'd rather be blasting up Medstead Bank any day, I should add. 🙂 all best, Matt
I’d like to see like a pure “un-edited” run from the whole line on one of the steam locos. Like a webcam showing exactly what the driver, fireman & cleaner does during each section.
That post Boiler certificate boiler inspection should go well, for your beloved steamer, unlike what happened to a certain US locomotive a few years ago, which will not be returning to steam due to the fact that the entire thing has been run to the point that she's beyond worn out.
"Keynsham, tell me more about Keynsham." (The Bonzo Dog Doodah Band) 😂 Great work on the use of modern roofing materials and the continuation of traditional values & techniques.
Please can we see some detail of the 3 cylinder West Country/Battle of Britain - in particular the configuration of the middle cylinder and it relationship to the other two. Thank you. Jeff
My suggestion would be to explain and perhaps show how a train is accepted from Network Rail and returned to Network Rail. It would also be interesting to know or have an overview of how the automated signalling works for normal Watercress Line trains at Alton.
Congratulations! The film unit produces the best behind the scenes preserved railway videos by far

Congratulations on the awards and for the entertainment both from the Railway and Film unit.
Thanks, Team Watercress
Super good Video! Big LIKE! 👍
I think an in-depth episode about the planning and administration that goes on behind the scenes might be interesting.
well done to everyone at the M.H.R and great video as always nice to see your dad on film helping out
That finished coach was beautifully done, clear a lot of care went into the restoration

That minimal gauge railway looks interesting Greetings from the US.

Being Danish I would love to hear some more general about the railway 😊
Your Carriage Awaits - Keeping You In The Loop Mid Hants Railway 'The Watercress Line' LOVE LOUIS SHIRLEY
Its wonderful seeing 1456 gleaming and fully restored, having seen it languishing for so many years in the past.
Great video, very informative. What wood is used for the replacement roof?

perhaps an update on the 205? last I heard it was in a bit of a sorry state rotting away

Congrats on the awards! As for a potential topic, I don't think you've visited any of the stationary food & drink options at the railway...
Great idea about waterproofing carriage roofs.
You guys do a fantastic job restoring your wagons.
Series idea: Watercress anecdotes. Interesting and amusing stories from both ex-BR railway staff and Watercress staff.
Tales from the rails.
The gorgeous restored carriage interior is a bit of a contrast to modern ones with their thin seats and acres of plastic. Progress eh?
A suggestion for a future video ,a then and now ,going from the 60s to the present day
A tour of the inner workings of the station including the buffet would interest me-those things that go on behind the scenes.
Very interesting, especially the carriage shed section.

Well done! and a loverly insight to behind the scenes.
Brilliant !! another very informative video...thanks !! 🙂
I’d love to see a virtual footplate ride, with a voiceover explaining what the crew are doing.
Lovely video, looking forward to coming down soon!

Whatever happened to the tinkerbell that I remember seeing in the boilershop about 7 years or so ago?
Could you live stream a day in alresford box?
Maybe a locomotives of the line about 45379!
Idea what goes into making a gala

How to use the switch board
