Myocardial bridge in itself is a congenital abnormality where the Artery gets compressed during systole (pumping of the heart) because that part of the Artery is not on the surface of the heart muscle but instead runs a course inside the heart muscle. Blockages can still develop in the Myocardial bridge, but usually they occur at the proximal and distal edge of the Myocardial bridge (ie at the start or the end of the bridge). However, blockages can still occur at any place inside the bridge also, but the starting and ending edge is more prone to develop blockages. Myocardial bridge have a risk of plaque Rupture or sudden thrombus formation- and may require antiplatelets and some other drugs as needed. I ask my patients to not do heavy work if they have a Myocardial bridge.
Sir myochordial bridge ke andar blockage ho sakta hai kya?
